With the 2021-2022 school year finally underway as normal, the Righetti Key Club has finally been able to go 100% with things to do now that there are no restrictions with COVID-19. On August 27, we were able to finally do an in-person service event through the Honkey-Tonk Fundraiser Dinner. This was a very successful service event with more ERHS Key Club members attending compared to last year’s service event. In the event, we basically just helped prepare and serve food to people who attended. As things are finally getting underway, we are already planning ways in which we can do service throughout the community. One way we have proposed was the idea of attending the upcoming Santa Maria service event. In this, we will be basically helping the Serve Santa Maria organization in assisting the elderly and disabled homeowners. We are also planning to attend the upcoming APA Cool Hand Lukes service event. Another thing that we are planning to do to help fundraiser for our club is through Krispy Kreme BOGO cards. This will help us greatly so that we are able to do more great things through the club. Now that we are at school, we are proud to announce that we now have at least 30 members in active attendance of the club since everything is now in-person!

Honky Tonk Event

A service event that our school decided to participate was the Honky Tonk Event that was held in Santa Maria. For this service project, members from the clubs in Santa Maria came together and helped serve food to the people during this event, clean up the place, and to set everything up. The high schools that were there included Pioneer Valley, Righetti, and Santa Maria Recreation and Park. Everyone there had a great time and everything went smoothly. All the guests who attended the event thanked the Key Club members in their participation and hard work throughout their event. Overall, this event was a success and we had about 15 members from our club who attended!

Firstfruits Farm

We are happy to introduce our new ongoing service project in partnership with First Fruits Farm. Volunteers from our San Luis Obispo club will follow instructions from farm leaders at the event and will be given the supplies necessary to pick the produce that they are instructed to. The fresh produce collected during this event is then donated to the San Luis Obispo Food Bank and other organizations in need. This has been a fun event for our club and it has been even greater knowing that we are giving back to our community!
