My Key Club Story

“I joined Key Club during my sophomore year of high school, and now I completely regret not joining earlier. I used to think of Key Club as just another club, but Key Club helps make a difference in people’s lives through community service. I knew I just had to become more involved with this club, so I broke out of my comfort zone and ran for treasurer. I’d like to point out that before I joined Key Club, I always isolated myself and would dread socializing. But once I took action and said my speech in front of 60 virtual faces, I never felt so confident in my life. This one step got me the role of Pioneer Valley’s Key Club Treasurer, and only helped gain confidence in applying for a job, talking more with people, and gave me the courage to even run for the DLT team. I wanted to make my mark on such an impactful club, and since I am so passionate about Key Club, for the first time in my life, I wasn’t scared to go outside my comfort zone. Now that I am a Division Event Coordinator, I have never been so happy to be part of something huge for not only myself but the people Key Club helps.”

“I joined Key Club during my sophomore year. At first, I joined Key Club because I needed community service, but I found a greater value in helping others and being active inside my community. One of my favorite events have been the ones held in the Minami center such as the Aktion Dances. The last dance I attended was a dinner for adults with special disabilities. My favorite memory was making others smile while serving food. Serving others and making someone smile in the process is priceless. Now, as president, I look forward to pushing our club to accomplish more service hours and continue impacting others to serve!”
