Hey there Pufferfishes. Man, this term has really just passed by. I’ve been glad to serve you as the Division News Editor for th 2013-2014 term. Thank you for all of your hard work! In about 3 WEEKS, DCON, will be right there. I hope everyone who is going will enjoy District Convention. Division Team Goodbyes Lieutenant Governor
Contributions from your 2013-2014 Division Team
Hello Division 25 West! This is your Lieutenant Governor Matthew Reminick with my final message of the term. During these past 12+ months, I have served our amazing division to the best of my ability. I want to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication and for sticking through with me from the beginning. Leaving this position leaves a bitter- sweet feeling in my heart. I have been with this inspiring organization for the past 4 years, following in the footsteps of the great leaders before me: Andrew Thai, Iris La, and Allison Hamoy. I would like to think we each left our mark on 25 West and all the pufferfish who in- spired us to take the position in the first place. Although I am sad to retire, I am also moved by the leadership I see in the future of this organization. I will have a more thorough and grateful speech pre- pared for March DCM, DCON, and Banquet, but for now just know I am forever in your debt for put- ting your faith in me and giving me this opportunity to inspire other Key Club members in the way they have inspired me. Executive Assistants Hello Key Clubbers! Wow, it's almost the end of the term al- ready...It's been a GOLDEN year with all of you and I'm very honored to have been able to serve you this past year. To Mat- thew and all the other seniors, good luck in college or whatever else the future has in store for you! Thank you for serving in your last year of high school despite any senioritis you could've had. And to every- one else who is still in Key Club next year, let's do our best to make our seniors proud! I'm a junior myself, so I'll still be in Key Club, and as a senior I will be serving as the SOCES President. Cheers to a great term with Olivia. I'll see you at DCON, ev- eryone. Don't forget your rice cookers.
Hello and Goodbye, Spikey babies! I've learned many things about you guys, maybe even with the little communication I possibly might have shared with you. Thank you so much for giving me and the division board the opportunity to serve you as you serve others. We have created a special bond, one that our parents told us about before coming into highschool and explaining why we should join as many clubs as possible : "ay anak ko, you will meet nice kids in key club. You will find similar interests and suuus, it will look good on your college app". But set aside from what looks good, it's about what feels good. Helping others, helps you, and it helps me. Thank you so much again, much love!

DCON 2014 Dress Code FRIDAY: SPIRIT ATTIRE 1.Shoes may be athletic, casual, or dress, but must cover your heel 2. Bottoms must be Ankle length pants -No shorts/leggings/skirts 3. Tops may be any unaltered item of Key Club apparel that covers the entire torso
Saturday:
Business Professional + Semi Formal
1. Shoes must be dress shoes, flats, or heels that cover the heel - Boys must wear black/dark socks 2. Bottoms may be ankle length dress pants or knee length skirts 3. Tops may be button-down dress shirts and a tie, or blouses that cover the entire torso 4. Semi Formal is dress shoes and a dress/long-sleeve button down dress shirt with a tie
SUNDAY: Convention Casual
/Business Casual
1. Shoes may be athletic, casual, or dress shoes covering the heel 2. Bottoms must be ankle length pants -No Shorts/Skirts 3. Tops may be unaltered Convention T-shirts or a button-shirt, blouse, or collared shirt

DCON 2014 Rules 1. Balconies off-limits 2. Curfew 12:00AM – 5:00AM 3. No opposite genders in a single room (includes adult’s rooms) 4. Failure to comply = Immediate dismissal 5. Attendees must stay at an approved convention hotel and sleep in their assigned room 6. All attendees will respect the authority of the Sergeant-at-Arms committee, Key 6. All at Club Administrator and designated staff. 7. All attendees will abide by all government laws and regulations. 8. Attendees may not possess, use, or consume any tobacco products, alcoholic bever- ages, any drugs or other controlled substance (with the exception of medication pre- scribed for the attendee), or any weapons, firecrackers, or anything of a dangerous nature. 9. Attendees will respect the property of others, conference facility and lodging facili- ty. Any damage caused by an attendee must be paid for by that attendee. No signs or materials may be placed or affixed to any hotel or convention center window or wall. 10. Attendees will not act in any way unbecoming of a Key Club or Kiwanis Family member. 11. Attendees are expected to abstain from any activity of a sexual nature. 12. Attendees are expected to not tolerate hazing or any action that creates unneces- sary physical or mental discomfort, embarrassment, harassment or ridicule of others. 13. Attendees will wear their convention identification (name badge) and conven- tion wristband at all convention events. 14. Attendees have a duty to report infractions of this code of conduct in order to maintain the purpose and safety of this event.

Event Recaps El Camino & Sierra Canyon w/ Crespi Spring Hale Concert
Gabriel Salazar | El Camino Historian-Elect In collaboration with Hale Charter Academy in Woodland Hills, the El Camino Key Club was able to help out and contribute with the fundraising during the event. On the night of the concert, March 7th, Key Clubbers trickled in, hoping to lend a helping hand for the nearby academy. Hard work, diligence, and dedication were all present during the evening, when Key Clubbers helped out by running the concessions stand at the concert, raising money for the school’s musical program. Luckily, the turnout was huge for the event, and, whether it through peddling brownies or corralling customers into lines, many clubbers lent a helping hand. As the night progressed, this unwavering hard work still made itself apparent. Though the scene may have been hectic at times, the volunteers persevered in serving their community. This participation in the event pro- vides a fine example of how the pufferfish spirit compels club members to be selfless and hard working in their pursuits. membe
Crespi/Sierra Canyon Joint Laser Tag Fundraiser Lizzie Henson | Sierra Canyon President
On March 6th, Crespi and Sierra Canyon’s Key Clubs had a joint laser tag fundraiser at Ultrazone in Sherman Oaks, with the proceeds going to PTP. The thought process was that if either of us were trying to do a bigger fundraiser alone, we wouldn’t be as successful, being two smaller, less established clubs. So, we pooled our resources and decided to work together to have the most successful fundraiser we could have. It was fun getting to know people from the other club, especially making sure that our in- coming boards were getting to know each other so they could work together in the future. There is defi- nitely no better way to bond than by shooting people with lasers in a fun and safe way! It was also nice to get some divisional support from Taft! Probably the most interesting part of the entire night though was seeing that people actually do decide randomly to go to laser tag on a Thursday night, given that we had several people walk in who weren’t affiliated with either school to come and play laser tag. Com- bine the proceeds from ticket sales with the baked goods and pizza that we sold, and we made quite a bit of money for PTP, and had a successful and fun fundraiser!

Event Recaps Taft Update Boba and Bowling Night 3/7/14 Taft Key Club kicked off first, to be of many, boba and bowling nights. Members went to Brian’s Shave Ice on Ventura Blvd and had a selection of boba to dole whips to shaved ice! After boba, everyone walked down to Corbin Bowl for a fun night of bowling.
Sunrise Little League Opening Day Parade 3/8/14 After an entire year, again, comes Sunrise’s Opening Day Ceremony to kick off the season. Last year, Taft covered this event as well as other schools in the di- vision. Waking up at 5am, members went to either Northrop Grumman Parking Lot or Sunrise to direct the huge floats. The lot was filled up to its peak at 7am, ready to start the parade. Of course, it could not be complete without a fire truck as well! could n As the day went on, members at Sunrise directed the flow of traffic and all the little leaguers to their appropriate spots. As well, Taft’s very own Secretary, Jake Beder, was actually in charge of coordinating the entire ceremony. We can’t wait for another great season of volunteering at Sunrise!
