Letter from the Ltg

Greeting Elephants! I hope that everyone is enjoying themselves throughout this first week of the term! Since DCON has just ended I would just like to say thank you to all the retired seniors that have put in so much into this club and for leaving such a positive impact on the community you serve. Thank you to all of the new officers that will be working tirelessly throughout this next term. Lastly, thank you all for entrusting me with the ability to serve such a wonderful division. I truly can’t wait to see all that we will accomplish in this term and I am looking forward to meeting every single one of you. So if you ever see me at an event, and I haven’t already approached you, then please come by to say hi and I promise I won’t bite! -Daniel Min Lieutenant Governor

DLT APPLICATIONS

As some of you may know, Division Leadership Team APplications for the 2019-2020 term are currently out! I highly encourage anyone even slightly on edge to apply for it. This has been one of the most life-changing experiences that I’ve gone through and I can say that I did not regret applying for a single second of my term. Although there is only a small amount of time left until applications end, there is still time, and if you are truly committed to serving on a higher level of Key Club, then I highly encourage you to apply for this term. I promise you won’t regret it!

Northview’s Finest On Friday, March 22nd, members of Northview Key Club volunteered from 3-8 p.m. setting up and cleaning up at Northview’s Finest. This was a special event hosted by our school’s renaissance. At this event, both male and female participated in a competition to win tickets to prom. Everyone showed off their talents and in the end, two lucky contestants won tickets for prom and they earned the title of “Northview’s Finest". Renaissance was extremely happy with our help and with this event we had a little glimpse of the talent that lies at our school. -Emily Escobar, Northview

March DCM

Our division’s March DCM was my third time attending a DCM, so I was relatively familiar with the usual activities that commenced. I enjoyed the introductions and old business that we have every time. On top of the usual, I also attend DCM’s because every time I go there is always a special theme. The March DCM was special because it marked the last DCM of the 2018-2019 term. To commemorate our accomplishments and retiring Key Clubbers, the theme of the event was lantern releasing. We would release our biodegradable lanterns onto Puddingstone Lake and retrieve them on the other side of the lake. So, I was excited to spend time with my fellow Key Clubbers while we decorated our lanterns and enjoyed our afternoons. I met many new Key Clubbers throughout our division. When our LTG asked if there were any new attendees, to my surprise no one raised their hand. I felt as if I was selective last time at meeting new people. So, I decided to meet as many new people as possible. And from the people that I encountered, I realized how thankful I am to be part of Key Club. My friends and I needed help with the writing on our lanterns because we could not mess up our lanterns with our horrific penmanship. So, I did the most reasonable thing and asked a nice girl to our right because I saw that she had legible and neat handwriting; she was happy to help us. I cherish these little interactions with other Key Clubbers and Kiwanians because I believe that it strengthens friendship bonds with them. -Nicholas Yu Diamond Bar Key Club
