T-SHIRT DESIGNS Divisional T-shirt designs are welcome! Please submit your design ideas and encourage other members to submit something so we can have a variety of designs to choose from. Send our LTG, Justine, an e-mail with a digitized image of your t-shirt design (front and back). Please include: - "D37E," - "Jellyfishes," "Jellyfishies," ―Jellies,‖ OR ―Jellyfish‖ - "Key Club" - "2011-12" - The Key Club logo somewhere on it - An awesome picture of our mascot - Our divisional colors (purple and white or green) - And the names of all nine schools currently in our Division. PLEASE KEEP IT APPROPRIATE and start thinking about how you would want our division represented at Divisional, Regional, District, and International events!!!! ♥
EXEC. ASSISTANT POSITION! Want to get more involved with Key Club at a divisional level? Then run for the 2nd executive assistant, position. Our LTG is looking for a third member to join the Divisional team. You will be assisting Justine Hsu, our Lieutenant Governor, in running our division for the next year. We're looking for someone who is spirited, good at communicating with others, a great planner, organized, and is willing to put their all into Key Club!!! However if you are already an officer, you would have to give up your position, and we’re trying to avoid that as much as possible. Also, you must not be an incoming senior. If you’re interested in applying, please sent our LTG an email at justeeen.hsu@gmail.com
Visit Your Kiwanis Club Its summer time! And it’s the perfect time of the year to visit your Kiwanis Club! We highly suggest you get to know the members who sponsor YOUR club. Heck, you can even plan a diversion and steal one of their items and force them to come to YOUR school to get it back.
As you all know, we are a new division, which means that we don’t have any chants/cheers yet! If you’re ever bored, or if you just standing there in the elevator listening to elevator music, think of a few chants that we could use! Share it with us on our Facebook or send it to our LTG!

Kiwanis 4th of July – RECAP From morning to early afternoon, San Marcos Key Clubbers gave back to Lake San Marcos Kiwanians who have helped us so much! At this Independence Day celebration, active duty military and veterans were honored with a flag salute, and a prayer and choir that made it clear that those who served will never be forgotten. To begin our day, Key Clubbers assisted in the set-up of food stands and other informational booths. As lunchtime neared, Key Clubbers distributed barbeque items to event goers while we also bonded with our Kiwanians. Lastly, we graciously accepted our Kiwanians’ offers of finished bottles and cans for us to recycle and fundraise for our club.

It is never too early to start fundraising for these future events!
WHEN: October 21st – 23rd, 2011 WHERE: Camp Cedar Glen – Julian, CA
Key Leader is a weekend experiential leadership program for today’s young leaders. This life-changing event focuses on service leadership as the first, most meaningful leadership-development experience. A Key Leader will learn the most important lesson of leadership—it comes from helping others succeed. While exploring leadership in a whole new way, participants will make amazing new friends and have experiences they will never forget. Positive, ongoing interaction with other Key Leader graduates offers continuing reinforcement, encouragement and growth of leadership skills.
WHEN: October 29th, 2011 WHERE: Taft Middle School
Here at RTC, we are planning to bring in a bit of DCON. We have workshops, training, fun, games, food, possible dance and talent show, and definitely TONS of SPIRIT! It's going to be big!! Tips on Fundraising Not sure how to fundraise or where to start? Here are six ways to raise funds from the Key Club Leadership Handbook! 1. Recycle old cell phones. 2. Host a hair leg contest for your favorite charity. 3. Save or shave. Get a willing adult to agree to shave his beard if donations reach a certain goal. 4. Sell holiday flowers, cookies and goodie bags. 5. Create birthday kits. Sell and deliver cakes, donuts, cookies, balloons or something similar to students celebrating birthdays. 6. Apply for a service grant. Youth Opportunities Fund will grant from US$100 to US$2,000 to fund clubs’ service projects. Fifty cents from each member’s international dues goes to this fund, which in turn helps fund service projects. All clubs in good standing and in a district can apply. The deadline is October 15. Download applications at www.keyclub.org.
WHEN: November 19th, 2011 WHERE: Six Flags Magic Mountain, Ca. WHY: Experience Motivational Programs, Divisional Spirit Rally, Meet New People, Helping out Pediatric Trauma, and Key Club Spirit.
Due to the District's massive size, two Fall Rallies are held each year; one in Northern California at Great America, one in Southern California at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Thousands of members gather at each of the two theme parks on their selected day, one in October, and one in November. At Fall Rally North and South, LTGs and Executive officers are "auctioned" off to Divisions; the winning Division is able to then spend a designated period of time with the "purchased" officer. Auction funds and a portion of the ticket sales for both events go towards Pediatric Trauma Prevention and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. For more information regarding registration or any other information, visit www.cnhkeyclub.org/events/fall-rally

―Trick-Or-Treat for Unicef! I love walking around with my little jingling orange box at school and asking for donations. When my school does coin fundraisers it's not too successful because no one cares to donate, but because it's every individual Key Clubber that's asking for spare change, each person is capable of educating and getting others to donate. It goes even further out to the community when we go trick-or-treating and ask for donations (along with candy).‖
Yvette Solano Orange Glen HS Member
―I'm super stoked on Fall Rally. It's going to be fun meeting other Key Clubbers, ride rollercoasters, yell some chants, and just you know, being Jellies.‖

―I'm looking forward to having our Key Club family grow larger and become closer as we help the community.‖
Key Leader!! (: I am super excited to meet new people and be involved in all types of activities. I have never been to Key Leader, but the way some of my friends describe it, makes me want to do it. I think this will help me when I run for a position as an officer next year.

After who knows how long, I’ve finally finished Division 37 East’s website. I guess you can say that this is the reason why I have the Jellyfish on the cover crazy. This website includes many features, along with a forum that will be coming soon. Here on this website, members of our division along with other divisions will be able to see what we’ve done in the past along with what we will do in the future. There is also a section that includes information on the Divisional Team, along with officers of each club with their email. This website is built on a WordPress platform, which means anyone (who I give the authority to, most likely officers only) will be able to easily post a new event, or a recap of a previous event. Other members can also comment on all of the posts. I have also set up websites for every club using the same platform where they can also easily update it with events and information. School websites are under a sub-domain of D37East.com depending on the school. The forum which will soon be on its way will be a place where members of our division along with other divisions will be able to hang out and get to know each other. It will also include a section where members can easily drop photos and videos of past Key Club events.
OTC B.E. WORKSHOP At the OTC that will be held on July 23rd, Bulletin Editors will be trained at their officer workshop on how to manage the website. If you are a bulletin editor and you miss the OTC, please e-mail me at kimvohanh@yahoo.com and I’ll show you how to manage your club’s website.
I really hope this website becomes a great success and that you our members will use it to its full potential!
