COACHES AND REFEREES IN MIDDLE SHABELLE REGION AVAIL FROM TRAINING COURSES

ootball referees and coaches in the Middle Shabelle region had availed from training courses which were held in the city of Jowhar some 90 kilometers north of the capital Mogadishu. The courses continued from 1-4 June 2016 and were organized under the regional football development scheme through the 3rd phase of the [Spread the Football] initiative which was announced by the SFF president, Abdiqani Said Arab. The development courses brought together some 30 participants from

different cities, towns and villages in the region. They are 20 referees and 10 coaches. Chairman of Middle Shabelle regional football association, Sharif Nur Mahmoud, thanked Somali Football Federation for its commitment to ensuring that development courses are organized in the region only three months after a new football committee was elected in the region, an election that for the first time took place without interference from the government.

Somali Football Federation senior vice president, Ali Abdi Mohamed, who delivered a short address at the conclusion ceremony of the training courses, said it was the duty of his federation to ensure that football reaches every single tiny village in the country.
