The box presents engravings by Theodor de Bry, with illustrations of fantastical cannibalistic Indians from the very first book published about Brazil in 1557. Colored, they hint towards a seamless image across the lid and base, however these do not actually line-up; a 'tease' that brings the sense of unease the engravings evoke to the very experience of handling the box.
