HANA
My HPCON Charlie Adventure with Hana Tours With 2020 and now 2021 being the year of COVID, and restrictions constantly changing, it’s hard to keep up with where you can and can’t go in Korea. But, have no fear, HANA Tours is there! Hana tours does the work to make sure we can go on amazing adventures in Korea and follow the latest HPCON Restrictions! In January I joined them on their Ulsan Pottery tour and Daewangam Tour and had the most unbelievable trip organized by Ms. Han! First stop was Daewangam Park. This is a beautiful coastal park with breathtaking scenery! There is a rock formation out from the coast that is called “The Dragon” as the rocks make the shape of the dragon. There are walking trails and two lighthouses that are still functioning. At the entrance of the park, there are cute little shops to eat, drink coffee, and shop. Next stop, the Ulsan Pottery Village which is renowned in Korea for its earthenware pottery. We went to the pottery school and had a lesson in making our own pottery bowls, cups, plates, or whatever you wanted with your clay. After you make your creation, the artists at the school will glaze and fire it in their large kilns. HANA will pick up the finished pieces and deliver them in about a month. Next was touring the individual artists and their pottery shops! So much to choose from!! The pottery is very unique in styles and colors. One shop we visited was owned and operated by a very famous artist in Korea. He proudly showed us all his awards and newspaper articles on his pottery. He was so happy to show off his beautiful pottery and tell us his stories. He also gave each person that bought something a free little rice bowl. Overall this trip was carefully organized to follow HPCON Charlie rules and to provide us with the utmost fun and adventure Hana could offer! From now on, I’m letting Hana Tours plan my trips as they are helping me and everyone else in Area IV navigate the ever changing restrictions. Don’t forget to check out some of the tours this month like Strawberry picking and Jam making tour, Tongyeong Cable Car & Night Tour, Gyeong Ju Night Tour, Amazing Coastal Walking & Temple Tour, and Yeonsu Artland & Temple Tour! Make your time in Korea the most you can by exploring everything you can and Let Hana tours plan it for you!
