On 4th March 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman said, "Let the world see, even the unarmed students and workers of Bangladesh stand up against the conspiracy to take away their rights with great courage and determination in the face of bullets." On that day the country was in a state of the strike. Protest raged. Guyana Janaza was held throughout the country. At the meetings and demonstrations, the Bengali freedom fighters took the oath for independence.
