The oldest natural pearl has been discovered in the Marwah Valley of Abu Dhabi. Archaeologists believe the pearl is at least 8,000 years old, news The National.
The precious gem was recovered from the Marwah Valley, near the coast of Mirfah, 160 km west of the city of Abu Dhabi. Archaeologists at the city's Culture and Tourism department found that using the carbon dating system, pearls originated from 5800 to 5600 BC.
