FABULOUS FURS!
With Gorski Furs’ President Leonard Gorski, Booth: #9907
your daily dose INTEL REPORT!
Deborah Lloyd
With Kate Spade New York Creative Director Deborah Lloyd, Booth: #1920 Anna Kendrick
What’s the inspiration this season? Expect the unexpected. I was very inspired by the books of Roald Dahl growing up, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Fantastic Mr. Fox, and they’re the basis of the show. What’s the latest at Kate Spade New York? We’re launching our third fragrance, Walk On Air. It’s really light and fresh. We’ve just shot our second of four Anna Kendrick films for our summer collection. The films are about Anna as the perfect “Miss Adventure”; we put her in vignettes with amusing little twists. We hear you’re introducing wintry accessories. We’re working with a licensee on our soft accessories, which means we can do every color way. It’s amazing! How are you surviving this very chilly weather? Not very well! I’m dreaming of my next holiday. I was away in Antigua for New Year’s Eve. That seems like a million miles away now!

GLOBETROTTING!
With The Globe Showroom’s Co-Founder Jeffrey Cayer, Booth: #4620 Any recent vacations? As usual, [my husband] Bruno and I went to St. Barts. We will never tire of the place! I was also in Paris for Fashion Week last September and had the most incredible experiences. I sat next to Grace Coddington on the flight Grace Coddington from New York, and I lunched beside Anna Wintour and Nicolas Ghesquière. Who’s your social media crush? Hanneli Mustaparta. She’s perfection. She has a captivating essence!
TAKING FLIGHT! With Nili Lotan, Booth: #4210
For Pre-Fall you revisited your debut collection… Yes, that collection had some pieces inspired by my ex-husband’s Israeli Air Force flying suit. We brought back the French military pant and blazer. If you had to wear one color for the rest of your life… It would be white!
COCKTAIL ALERT!
6 Shore Road’s Pooja Kharbanda on where to find the best beach-to-bar spots globally! Booth: #6637 Panama Beach: Isla Grande. This is the beach from The Blue Lagoon! It’s also a quick walk to the historic churches and forts from the Spanish empire. Bar: Club Punta Proa Curaçao Beach: Jan Thiel Beach. It’s a melting-pot of Euros, Latinos, Americans, and more. Clothing is optional here! Bar: Zanzibar FA S H I O N W E E K D A I L Y. C O M
Hong Kong Beach: Repulse Bay. This beautifully manicured spot overlooks South China; Tin Hau Temple is nearby. Bar: South Bay Beach Club India Beach: Goa’s all about a hippie, carefree spirit mingled with the craziest, most over-the-top parties. Bar: La Plage
Who’s your muse this season? Our fabulous and aspirational customers. What’s your clientele like? We dress the most elegant women in the world, spanning from North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Our clients are stars! What’s your favorite part about designing? I work closely with my team in Montreal, as well as with my long-time collaborators in Italy. My team helps me shape, perfect, and translate my vision into what customers will wear around the world. What’s your favorite fall accessory? Fur, of course! Any outfit can be accessorized with a fabulous fur or fur-trimmed accessory. What are some new outerwear silhouettes this season? Our voyageur and evening collection of short cropped jackets capelets and add-on furs. We treat fur as fabric. We color, shear, add texture, combine it with cashmere and precious wools to create ultra-light and fabulous pieces.
CASHMERE DREAMS!
With the Design Team From Suss Design, Booth: #4625 Where’s your cashmere made? Our label is produced by hand in Los Angeles. We’re the essence of casual luxury! Who’s your muse? This season’s muse is Jane Birkin. We were also inspired by the ’60s mod movement. What’s the best part about being made in the USA? Anything we make can be knit overnight and with inhouse looms and machines, which have become a dying breed. Suss has the capability to create experimental pieces on Blake demand. Lively Any celeb fans of Suss? Blake Lively is a fan of the brand. She loves our cashmere wraps!

Josie Natori
Josie Natori, CEO and Founder, Booth: #2740 What are you most excited about for this coming year? We’re forging ahead with expanding our ready-to-wear globally, and will be showing in Paris for the first time at the Tranoï show. Plus, we’re building our accessory collection. Who’s your social media crush? Chrissy Teigen! She shows a side of the fashion world we don’t usually get to see. It’s like a nice breath of fresh air! What’s your favorite fashion memory of all time? My introduction to the world of couture is most memorable; years ago, I visited the Valentino atelier in Rome, as well as the Yves Saint Laurent maison.
Sarah Pacini Naila Jaffer, Artistic Director, Booth: #1925
all photos courtesy of the designers
Tell us about the brand! For 20 years, Sarah Pacini has been a high-end, contemporary collection, blending together knits, prêt-àporter, and accessories. Each item, whether worn separately or as a total look, appeals to the imagination and sense of individuality. Is there anything new this season? We’re introducing innovative fabrics this season in a variety of textures and finishes: crisp, coated, or brilliant. What are this season’s must-have accessories? Long knit scarves to wrap around for added warmth, plus our jewelry, offered in hammered silver and worn leather. The Globe Trotter handbag, in either leather or a nylon-leather mix, is great.
What are you most excited about for the year to come? There is so much happening in 2015. My daughter Cassandra’s wedding is in September, one week after my next fashion show, which will be the first fashion event held in the new Whitney Museum. What’s your favorite part about designing for the Fall/Winter season? Living in Michigan, we experience the change of seasons in a way that is a big help when designing for Fall. What’s your favorite fall accessory? A beautiful pair of leather gloves in a rich berry color. Who are some celebs who have recently sported Pamella, Pamella Roland? Jamie Chung, Carrie Underwood, and Jessica Parker Kennedy, at the Golden Globes, plus Taylor Swift. Who’s your favorite shoe designer I’ve been wearing Manolo Blahnik’s shoes since he first began selling in the U.S. in the ’70s.

who’s Showing Planet
Lauren Grossman, Designer, Booth: #10004 Who’s your muse this season? Calvin Klein, with his classically chic styles and minimalist approach. How will this year at Coterie be different from past years? It won’t be, because all Coterie shows are the highlight of my career! The energy of the trade shows along with the talent always makes for a successful and high-energy experience. What’s your favorite part about designing for the Fall/Winter season? The colors are somber, and the pieces are more serious. What’s your favorite fashion memory of all time? My fondest fashion memory of all time is when I purchased a Claude Montana fuchsia swing jacket with an oversize collar in the ’80s. I wore it in New York for Fashion Week when I was in my twenties and I felt that I was in the game. That jacket made me feel like the ultimate fashionista. What’s your trademark? Architectural shapes.
Raw+
Ryuichiro Shimazaki, Designer, Booth: #5244 What’s new for Fall 2015? Leather-faced fabrics with wool jersey and mouton. How will this year at Coterie be different from past years? In addition to leathers, we will have modernized mouton coats and various cashmere wool coats. What’s your favorite fashion memory of all time? Big, long silhouettes, which are inspired by the late ’80s and early ’90s. What are some of your dreams for Raw+? We want Raw+’s leather to be sustainable, such as Mackintosh’s rubberized cloth or Barbour’s oiled cotton.
Shoshanna
Shoshanna Gruss, Founder and Creative Director, Booth: #2121 What are you most looking forward to this year? This is my 16th year showing at Coterie, so I’m really excited to kick off 2015 with a strong message for Fall. I love to see the reaction from my buyers! How will this year at Coterie be different from past years? Each season at Coterie is different in its own unique way. There are always new and exciting stores and buyers to connect with, and it’s the place where I want my line to debut. What’s your favorite part about designing for the Fall/Winter season? I love layering, so I always try to include really great sweaters and cardigans that can easily be thrown over my dresses. Who’s your favorite artist? I’m crazy about the artist Markus Linnenbrink. I just bought two of his pieces and I’m in love!

who’s Showing Rudsak
Evik Asatoorian, Founder and Designer, Booth: #6032 What’s new for Fall 2015? As usual for Rudsak, the Fall collection is all about leather and fur with accents of shearling, plus exciting new colors. Where did you cull inspiration for your Fall 2015 collection? Our inspiration was a modern rebel woman going on an expedition to the northern mountains. What do you have planned for the year ahead? Rudsak is expanding and will be opening six new boutiques across Canada in 2015!
Who’s your social media crush? I like the modern chic of Garance Doré and the cool rebel attitude of Natalie Off Duty. Tell us a fun fact about your brand, please! The brand name became Rudsak because I had a golden retriever by the name of Rud. He used to love chewing on leather. So after nibbling on his fair share of bags, his name became Rudsak.
Pologeorgis Furs Design Team, Booth: #2440
How will this year at Coterie be different from past years? This year we’re premiering the new look of Pologeorgis. We partnered with DTE Studio to relaunch our brand and collection with a fresh, cool, new look. Who’s your muse this season? Our muse is the modern, fresh, and confident woman who is stylish and fashion-forward but loves a classic fur as an essential part of her wardrobe. What’s new this year? We’re very excited about launching the Pologeorgis home line. Along with blankets and pillows, we will be creating a limited run of specialty pieces for a fun approach to fur at home. Do you have any upcoming designer partnerships? Pologeorgis partners with a select group of top-tier designers each season. We are very excited to be partnering with fashion wunderkind Wes Gordon this upcoming season.
Ronen CHEN
Ronen Chen, Designer and Owner, BoothS: #128, #228 What’s new for Fall 2015? The styling has changed—I’m taking inspiration from a more masculine, refined mood. It’s a simple, clean, and tailored collection. There are a greater number of jackets this season, new fabrics, and abstract prints inspired by nature. What are you most excited about for 2015? We’re launching a capsule collection, Limited, which we introduced in a concept store in Tel Aviv four months ago. It was so positively received by customers and press, we’re showing the new line in a separate booth at Coterie. What’s your trademark? Architectural designs. What’s your favorite Fall accessory? Scarves. I love how they enable you to add texture and color to any look. FA S H I O N W E E K D A I L Y. C O M

COTERIE | JACOB JAVITS | BOOTH 2443 FEB 23 - 25th www.shopjocelyn.com
who’s Showing Zynni Cashmere Qing Hua, Designer, Booth: #609
What’s new for Fall 2015? I’ve developed a pyramidstructured lifestyle collection with over 100 pieces. In terms of design elements, I focus more attention on delicate and exquisite knitting patterns. What are you most excited about for the year to come? Going international, with Who’s Next and Fashion World Tokyo, in addition to Coterie! I look forward to absorbing whatever I’m bound to discover in each show. Are there any new cashmere techniques that are part of your collection this season? I like to play with combinations of different knitting patterns to alter garment shapes. I find that knitting patterns are very special in cashmere design. What was the first piece of cashmere you ever owned? My sister gave me my first piece of cashmere when I was 16. She bought it from Marks & Spencer in Hong Kong.
Yoga Jeans
Eric Wazana, Designer and Founder, Booth: #5043 Who’s your muse this season? I have a soft spot for Sofia Vergara: Not only is she beautiful, but she’s confident and comfortable in her skin. She’s one of those people whose sense of humor and commitment to charity is effortless and relatable. What’s your favorite part about designing for the Fall/Winter season? Winter in Montreal is a brutal one, but this time of year means I cocoon myself in a cottage surrounded by nature. I reboot completely while being inspired by the beauty around me. What’s your favorite fashion memory of all time? For our 10-year anniversary we showcased at Montreal Fashion Week and ended our show with prima ballerinas pirouetting in our jeans. It was breathtaking. A fun fact about your brand, please! We do the Downward Dog Test, to check that the waistbands really conform to the body and hug curves. If the new style doesn’t pass the DWD Test, it gets reworked until it does! Aside from yoga, what other activities can be done in Yoga Jeans? The name Yoga Jeans actually comes from the mentality behind yoga—being comfortable in your skin, exuding confidence, and being at peace with yourself. It’s an added bonus that you could wear them to yoga if you really wanted to!

Mystique Yamin Levy, Designer, Booth: #3530
What’s new for Fall 2015? We’re introducing a bejeweled espadrille. We’re pretty excited about it. What else are you excited about for the year to come? Growth is really taking place—we’re looking into having pop-up stores throughout the year. Who’s your social media crush? Kim Kardashian. Isn’t she everyone’s crush? What’s the design process like at Mystique? When I design a collection, I probably have around 300 styles in the beginning of the process. How does Mystique give back to its community? Mystique supports a women’s hospital in Indonesia called Bumi Sehat. We donate materials such as leather and shoes to the hospital.
Wooden Ships by Paola BuendÍa
Paola Buendía, Designer and Co-Owner, Booth: #2143 Who’s your social media crush? I have always been a fan of Marc Jacobs and his neverending innovation. How will this year at Coterie be different from past years? I’m excited about our new booth layout, designed to give maximum exposure to both our sweaters and accessories. What’s your favorite fashion memory of all time? The first time I saw someone on the street wearing a Wooden Ships hat and scarf. Tell us a fun fact about your brand! Our designs are multigenerational; we have classic styles being worn with ease by moms and daughters. What are some new silhouettes we should look for this season? Ponchos and fringe are making a big comeback.

who’s Showing Indigenous Designs Britta Reynolds, Designer, Booth: #1946
How will this year at Coterie be different from past years? We’re going paperless at the show. We’re entering the 2015 trade show season with the sleekest technology, capturing orders on iPads through NuOrder! What’s your favorite part about designing for the Fall/Winter season? Working with our luxurious fluffed royal alpaca and hand-spun yarns. They’re delicious. Tell us a fun fact about your brand! Our founders, Scott Leonard and Matt Reynolds, have been friends since seventh grade. After 20 years in business, they remain steadfast in their dedication to make fashion that honors people and the planet. And what’s the greenest thing you’ve done recently? I just signed a contract to power my entire home with solar energy. I will be generating more energy than I use from the sun.
Repeat Cashmere
Noemie Tugendhaft, Creative Director,
Booth: #215
Who’s your muse? Our muse continues to be supermodel Doutzen Kroes. We’ve been lucky enough to work with her over the past six seasons as the face of Repeat; she perfectly embodies what our collection represents. Who’s your social media crush? Our social media crush is Chrissy Teigen! When she isn’t making us hungry with all the incredible dishes she’s always cooking up, we’ve FA S H I O N W E E K D A I L Y. C O M
Autumn Cashmere
Katherine Carpenter, Women’s Design Director, Booth: #5222 What’s new for Fall 2015? We’re turning 20 this year! To celebrate the anniversary we’re launching a new group, Restored by Autumn Cashmere. This collection will consist of styles using yarns with recycled cashmere fibers, which will be environmentally friendly. It will offer both men and women pieces with a rustic and cool bohemian vibe in earthy hues. Who’s your muse this season? My 23-year-old daughter. What are you most excited about for 2015? Radiohead’s LP9! Any new cashmere techniques for this season? We’re introducing new novelty cashmere-textured yarns, as well as dip dying chunky hand-knits.
become enchanted with her quirky personality and incredible fashion sense. Are there any new cashmere techniques that are part of your collection this season? There are definitely a few new knitting techniques and effects that make our pieces really special. But you’ll have to come check them out in person. What was the first piece of cashmere you ever owned? The first piece of cashmere I ever owned was actually a Repeat Cashmere scarf. It truly is an absolute treat for your skin! Teach us more about the Repeat label, please! Most people don’t realize at first glance that Repeat has more then one collection under its umbrella. In fact, Repeat actually has three other labels: Repeat Silver Edition; DtLM, which stands for Don’t Label Me; and Repeat Easy Knit.

Lancaster Paris is known for innovative style, constant renewal, and advanced trends in a variety of highquality Italian leathers. What do you most want your brand to be known for? Parisian chic. Ela Aldorsson, CoFounder and Designer, and Martin Aldorsson, Co-Founder, Booth: #4643 Ela Aldorsson: “I love the Mini MILCK bag. MILCK is an acronym for money, ID, lipstick, cell phone, and keys. This mini silhouette has a great balance between function and unique design.”

Jens Grede and Erik Torstensson, Co-Founders, Booth: #4712 Jens Grede: “We wanted to create a luxe but affordable brand based around the idea of elevated nightlife. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Suki Waterhouse walked the runway in our secret, intimate show at London Fashion Week last February.”

Carl Cunow and Nathan Romano, Co-Founders, Booth: #4543 Carl Cunow: “The Kelly one-piece with the banana-leaf print is a favorite! It embodies what Onia stands for: a superclean silhouette with a fresh print, hand-painted by artist Felipe Merida.”
Collina Strada
Hillary Taymour, Owner and Head Designer, Booth: #4630 “Spring 2015 at NYFW was my first solo show. It was such a massive accomplishment for me, and truly an eye-opening experience. It was like waking up and realizing you’re living your dream.”
Alice Noon
Tiffany Eley, Designer and Founder, Booth: #4343 “The name Alice Noon comes from my great-grandmother. She was a fearless, intelligent, self-made woman. She had a great sense of humor, and was a kind, forgiving woman.”
Peter & May Walk
Peter and May Walk, Co-Founders and Designers, Booth: #4335 “Our muses are Kelly Slater riding a surfboard, Kate Moss on a catwalk, and Thom Yorke behind a piano. That’s the definition of elegance.”
Derek Guillemette
Inter-pret.us
Derek Guillemette, Founder and Creative Director, Booth: #4441 “The very first piece I ever created, the Franken Shirt, got its name because I cut up my three favorite shirts, altering them, and sewing the parts back together again. My friends at work called me a mad scientist.”
Viktoria + Woods
Lisa Reynolds, Co-Director and Head Designer, Booth: #4727 “After 10 years in business, I still jump on the pattern table along with the design assistants. I love that raw, hands-on part of the process.”
Fabitoria
Victoria Kao, Founder and Designer, Booth: #4943 “When no one on Earth knew Fabitoria back in 2012, Susie Bubble wrote a heartfelt article about us. This gesture really opened a door to the world for us.”
Martel
Antonia Martel, Owner and Creative Director, Booth: #4641 “The brand aesthetic is understated. It’s slightly twisted with a sense of humor, treading somewhere between experimental and classic. I’d describe our Fall collection as ‘neo-prim.’ ”
