Hosted poolside at a private residence in lush Southampton, the celebration brought together the likes of Larsen Thompson, Jessica Wang, CT Hedden, Cameron Silver, Danielle Bernstein, Sasha and Oli Benz, and Pritika Swarup to raise a glass of Whispering Angel to East End style. Greeting guests upon arrival was a feather-topped Art Deco–inspired SCHUTZ champagne tower, featuring bubbles from Lamberti. A Moroccanoil masseur was stationed in the garden to show the brand’s latest body products and fragrance mist. Many guests were dressed in the latest diamond, gold, silver, and signature Caviar styles from LAGOS. Team LAGOS was also on site to help attendees discover their new favorite pieces, while a LAGOS photo booth made for cute keepsakes to take home.

The Daily Summer and KILIAN Paris had an alfresco dinner on Shelter Island earlier this month at The Chequit to celebrate the launch of the new fragrance Vodka on the Rocks by Kilian. Founder Kilian Hennessy asked perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur, known for her unique way of composing fragrances through short formulas with a strong character, to create the smell of vodka cooled by ice. Guests departed from Sag Harbor via a boat from Yacht Hampton for a sunset ride to the hotel. The evening kicked off with cocktails, including a special Vodka on the Rocks drink, and Steve Assous, Kilian Paris’s senior manager of global education, on hand to walk guests through the different scents of Kilian’s line. To toast our glorious August issue, the magazine and American Dream recently welcomed families to The Maidstone in East Hampton to join cover star Emily DiDonato and photographer Jordan Millington Liquorice. The adorable day out brought together activations, activities, and games for the families in attendance—a nod to how the spectacular New Jersey–based American Dream retail and entertainment complex is all about fantasy, fun, and family. Kids (and adults!) enjoyed taking turns on a swing, posing by the flower wall, playing with flamingo floats, and getting makeovers by Silly Cheeks Face Painting. On a sunny Saturday, The Daily Summer joined Nicole Miller for a fun-filled workout session followed by a delicious rosé brunch at Bounce Beach Montauk. The event saw content creators from the Hamptons and Manhattan don their colorful Nicole Miller athleticwear, before dressing up in the designer’s Spring/Summer ’22 collection for an upbeat day out. Things kicked off early on the top-level deck of the beach club, where Miller designed the retro-inspired staff uniforms this season. The group took part in an energetic class led by Elements Barre Fit, before refueling on green smoothies and picking out their looks and getting ready for the remainder of the day. After putting their best foot forward at the jewel-toned and floral-adorned photo wall with blooms by Missi Flowers, guests sat down to a delectable brunch feast of bang bang shrimp, watermelon salad, avocado toast, breakfast tacos, waffle fries, and everyone’s favorite, chicken tenders, which Miller herself personally requested be added to the menu. A woman after our own heart! Brownlee founders Christina Currey and Abe Hutcheon recently brought together a wellheeled crew of friends, and those soon-to-be friends, to celebrate their burgeoning lifestyle brand. The poolside event was hosted at a private residence in Southampton, with guests joining the duo for cocktails and a look at the latest Brownlee offering, before sitting down for a delectable feast of mussels, lobster, and all the trimmings. The gathering sought to raise a glass to human connection, nostalgia, and Currey’s family, who have called the Hamptons home for decades and continue to inspire the vision of the brand. Jeremy Scott also returns as a judge. Jeremy lost it this year [while judging]. I’ve never seen him like that before. On TV, it has to be really crazy for my tears to come out, and that has happened before. It also happens when you get really angry, and he was just so mad that [the designers] did not use their opportunity better. He just really went there. We love him for it because you know he’s not just there to get a paycheck. He actually cares about these designers. He wants to push them and get them further to the next level and possibly win. Will you be wearing Moschino looks throughout the season? Yes, yes, yes! I always come up with these ideas where I’m like, “We should do one day where we all wear Moschino,” so then Jeremy just brings a whole entire suitcase of one whole collection. Then we dig around in there, so we are all in the same collection. It is so fun, colorful, and vibrant. I’ve never been someone who is afraid to wear fashion because I love it and, obviously, that’s why I’m still in it. I just love it so much. He is just along there with me and so is Nicole. We have so much fun. The show still looks like a zillion dollars. The production values are so good! I’m just happy for all these people trusting in us, Tim and me, because as you know, they’re all proud, as designers and creators. They’re all very different, and they all have their opinions. I’m always pleased and happy and proud when they all come to us because it’s not easy to be publicly judged, especially your creative output. I always applaud all these designers for coming in and for being very mindful. We did an interview last year with Gary Graham, who came in second place last season. People are constantly leaving comments that you got it wrong. Thoughts? It’s so hard to say what’s right or wrong. They can still say that Gary is an extraordinary designer, but so is Andrea Pitter. It was a very, very tough deliberation that went on for a very, very long time into the night. It was like 3 o’clock in the morning and we were all cross-eyed. It’s not like we toss the dice or something and see what they land on. We really discussed it, and it was not unanimous in the end. I wish all the designers could take home a million dollars, but there is only one winner. You just have to do what your heart tells you to do. Do you feel good about a Season 4 happening? I do.
Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are back again for Season 3 of Amazon Prime’s hit Making the Cut. They’ll also be going home with a Fashion Media Award for Best Fashion Series as the co-stars and executive producers of the show. Fashion’s longtime fave duo fill us in on why they’re so excited about this year’s crop of designers competing for a $1 million prize.
Congratulations on Season 3! We love the show. What’s new this season? We have 10 new designers from different walks of life. They all tell their stories through their designs and come from all different places in the world; it influences how they design and the stories that they tell. We have someone from Brazil, someone from Switzerland; they’re from all different places, and everyone brings something to the table. That’s what’s so beautiful about this—they’re not actors, it’s a reality show where you follow these 10 very talented people who already have some kind of a job in this industry. Either they have a little store or a boutique, or they’re part of something, but they’re already in the fashion industry and have a small label, and they just want to get it to the next level. They’re all talented. That’s really what makes a difference. One thing that’s different this season is that you aren’t locked down while filming. Where did you film? We filmed downtown in Los Angeles, and even though it was not during the lockdown and it wasn’t as crazy as it was the first year of the pandemic, we are still dealing with COVID. We are being tested every day, and we have to follow protocol in order to keep everyone safe. People always want to know why we aren’t doing more fun “Heidi and Tim” segments, because the first year, we were making croissants and we were running around in shops in Paris. Because of COVID, we were not able to do these things. I feel like it doesn’t show in the ultimate product because it still looks absolutely incredible, and we made the most of it. When we were filming Season 3, we were still in full swing with COVID. We’re happy that we got through this season and last season without anyone actually testing positive. We were knocking on wood. Nicole Richie is back this year as a judge. What does she bring to the table? Obviously, she is a very famous person, especially in America. She is just so funny, she’s like an old comedian. I’ll be dissecting this outfit and thinking, and then she will be like, “Oh, this is like a sexy man wrestling thing.” She just comes up with these things, and she is always a lot of fun. She’s very sarcastic. We love having her!

Do you ever have any designers that you just don’t like? Oh, yes. [Laughs] Usually, though I never communicate this to the judges. They are [typically] among the first to leave because I’m not the only one who feels this way. I’ll tell you what it is: For me, it’s about individuals who don’t allow any outside input in. They’re very stubborn, and I use the word “stubborn” as opposed to “tenacious” because they don’t want to let anything into their heads that might alter how they either look at fashion, or look at the creative process, or create their work. And I’m certainly not there to tell them what to do. While that’s not what I do, I’m there to help them step back from their work and look at it with their own critical eye, not through mine, because mine, mine doesn’t matter. And when there’s a tremendous resistance to doing that, it’s troubling. And of course, the same thing happens before the judges, so the judges are picking up the same vibe that I am. And generally, it’s going to be those individuals who are the first to leave the show. And it’s not nice, but when you don’t like them, it’s a relief. By the time we’re down to half the number, then it’s painful to see anybody go home. It’s really, truly painful. You’ve been on these kinds of shows for almost 20 years. Are the people who sign up for them the same as they were back then, or are they different? No, they’ve changed a lot. There really is a pronounced difference between Project Runway and Making the Cut. And that pronounced difference is the branding aspect, because Making the Cut is not just about a pretty dress. You want the dress to be pretty, but it’s a much broader picture. And with Project Runway, it was about just that moment in time when the designers are creating something for that particular runway. With Making the Cut, it’s a cumulative evaluation where you’re connecting all the dots from the various assignments and trying to figure out who really deserves this enormous prize. So it’s just a much broader picture with Making the Cut. The depth with which we question the designers and our expectations are very different. We know you and Heidi are both involved in the casting of the show. What are you looking for in future designers? We’re really looking for a point of view in the passion, certainly, and we’re looking for elements of success. With Making the Cut, you need to see some evidence of success in the field. That’s really important because if you don’t know how to create a business, it’s difficult. It’s difficult to talk about it because it all sounds like a theory to an individual who hasn’t experienced it. These are people who have storefronts, they have an online presence, and they have a clientele. It’s good to hear about those things from people with experience, as opposed to from someone who’s never sold. People were upset that Gary Graham didn’t win the show last year. Who would you have voted for if you were a judge? Well, I’ll tell you because I rose from my seat, and I’m really not supposed to be speaking during these things, and I said it should be Gary. And that’s not to diminish Andrea Pitter. Andrea is fantastic. I adore her, and she’s done so well. But for me, Gary was the underdog and he was a rock star early on [in his career], and then basically went into hiding. And I was championing the fact that he was looking at the second coming and I wanted that to be emblazoned in his win and also in Making the Cut. Things happen for a reason. He’s doing well. His denim jacket went into production twice, and he received the proceeds and a lot of money. What else are you up to these days? I’m the luckiest person in the world. I’ve never been bored one day in my entire life. I have so many things that occupy me. I write and I read and I think. Thankfully, I like my own company. In some ways, it’s a return to childhood, because I love being in my room alone and reading and playing with my Legos. I’m a perfectly happy camper.

What’s new this season? What will viewers be seeing that’s different? That question is something of a conundrum for me, because on the one hand, I don’t want to give anything away. On the other hand, I don’t want to be vague and noncommittal. The show is really about the designers, and Heidi and I are “window dressing,” in a manner of speaking. The designers are great. Whenever people say, “Isn’t the pool deluded?” or “Are they weaker?” The wonderful thing about the show is the Amazon of it all, and the Amazon fashion of it all, and the million dollars. This group of designers is extraordinary, which is not in any way meant to diminish the talents of the two prior seasons. The designers were great, especially the winners, but it’s a different group. Obviously, there’s more fashion risk-taking, and it’s also a very international group. In fact, I don’t want to give things away, but by the end, it’s almost all international. It’s compelling. I will say this, we taped Season 3 in Los Angeles for the second year in a row and it was all COVID-related. We’ve got to move [cities] if we have another season; we can’t go back there. We’ve exhausted it. Really? What do you mean by that? In Season 3, we were out and about a lot more than we were in Season 2, when we practically almost never left the ranch. Season 3, we are out and about, but it’s limiting. I would say the same thing if we were using New York season after season. It’s really about inspiration. And that was what was so wonderful about Season 1 being in New York and Paris and Tokyo. It was inspiring, but it’s also not a travel show. So it’s not as though that’s the goal. It’s more about fueling inspiration. When you say that this crop of designers is extraordinary, what is it about them that you found extraordinary? It’s the risk-taking. They’re much more inclined to take risks. They certainly know that with every assignment that there is a high-end runway look and then a more accessible look. The idea being that that would be the look that if the designer wins that assignment, that would be the look that would be reproduced. And the high-end looks are risky and extremely compelling for just that reason.

Enter: Olivia Culpo, her older sister, Aurora, and baby of the family, Sophia. While each has her own interests and thriving career, they come together on projects like their popular fashion line, Culpos x INC with Macy’s. With a new reality TV show focused on their solo and collaborative endeavors, the trio is getting ready to connect with audiences on a deeper level. We hopped on Zoom and found them sitting around the kitchen table in Rhode Island, where it all began.

Olivia: Aurora lives, makes mistakes, and we learn from them!
Olivia: That was not always the case, in any way, shape, or form!
Sophia Culpo: I have so many memories of sitting on the bathroom floor and watching them do their makeup; I swear that’s how I learned to do everything remotely fashion- and beauty-related. Looking at them, copying them, and definitely stealing from their closets and makeup bags! Now that I’m older, I’m trying to break the mold of being the youngest because you still get treated like you’re 5 years old when you’re 25. I want them to see me as grown-up now.
Olivia: They’re not shallow issues anymore, when we were growing up it was like, “Who stole my tank top!”
OIivia: We fight on a daily basis, every single day. Aurora: We don’t fight as much anymore, as much as when we were younger. I don’t have the energy for her drama! [Laughs]

Aurora: I have a lot to say on this! Olivia likes to assert her dominance; she likes to think she has much more experience than the rest of us.
Olivia: I’m figuring out what exactly our dynamic is. As much as I’m considered a leader because I’ve done all of this before and they haven’t…
What’s your dynamic like?
Aurora Culpo: My parents joke that I was never really a child, because I was thrown into this role—some might call it bossy, I prefer to say I have strong leadership skills. I also might point out that I distinctly remember my mom saying that if there was ever an argument, Olivia was always involved!
What are your earliest memories? You all seem to get along so well. Was that always the case?
Olivia: I’m sensing some resentment!
One of my first memories is that any time Aurora would leave the house, I was so excited to go upstairs and put on all her clothes. I used to want to be her so bad! And then Sophia couldn’t even get a word in edgeways; she didn’t even order her own food at a restaurant for the longest times. Everyone spoke for her! What role do each of you play in the dynamic?
Aurora: Well, I don’t want to do any photo shoots with her anytime soon! I feel like I’m the gracious leader; I’ve been honing these skills for a while. So the leadership role has somehow come to Olivia and she’s reveling in it, but I think she’ll get over it soon!
Olivia Culpo: Growing up in a family of five, there was always a lot of chaos. We have a wild family dynamic!
Having one sister on each side is interesting because it’s like having built-in best friends, although there are moments where we can’t stand one another, but we equally know each other better than anyone in the world.
Aurora: I’ve had more life experience!
Aurora: Interesting you ask…
Sophia: Aurora, we know that you were not a fan of the crop top. Olivia, you love a crop top! Aurora: Well, I was pregnant, and then I had just given birth, so no, I was not a fan of a crop top at the time!
Aurora: We all like things that we can wear multiple types of ways.
Olivia: This is an interview, not therapy! I feel like there’s definitely a little bit of everyone’s personalities that came through. And then some things were also just for who the customer is, so it was a balance between everything so that we could create the best version of what we wanted to put out there. Are there certain trends that you all unanimously agree on?
Olivia: We have a few things coming up that we can’t talk about yet, but we do have more collaborative projects. I feel like it’s cool having each of us incorporated in what we do because I think it makes it more meaningful. Aurora: Olivia works every day with a stylist and is up with the latest trends, so I think she thinks that negates what we like.
I’m not confrontational. I’m not one to start a fight, so my role is the peacekeeper.
Sophia: Well, I bring a sense of Zen and calm. I’m an observer; our mom always said that about me my whole life! I would say even though I’m the most reserved, I’m probably the most social. I’m a foodie, I pick the restaurants, I love to go out for dinner, hang out with friends. They both love to stay home!

Sophia: I hate shoulder details!
Aurora: I think that’s an age thing, I was going out at your age, too!
Olivia: Sophia is definitely so easy to get along with. Who gives the best advice in the trio?
Aurora: She’ll probably still be asleep if it’s before noon!
Sophia: They both give good advice, but if you’re looking for any type of cushioning or sensitivity…well, Olivia will just straight up yell at you and tell you the realest truth that you don’t want to hear! She doesn’t cushion the blow of a harsh truth. That makes us curious about how it was working together on your fashion line, Culpos x INC with Macy’s. Were you in agreement on most things?
Sophia: I think when it comes to our partnerships, sometimes it can be very equal, and sometimes when it’s one of our niches…well, Olivia is the fashion guru, so it can be hard to bring her down to our preferences! She has more experience in the world.
Olivia: We’re all going to think we do, but I’d say between Aurora and me—no offense, Sophia—it’s probably a tie.
Sophia: There was one dress, a plain shirtdress, that Olivia would pair with high boots and a beret, and of course, I would wear it with sneakers.
Olivia: We really do have such different personal style! Do you have more collaborations in fashion coming up?
Aurora: To be honest, I think it’s me.
Olivia: I think we all like comfortable fashion, streetwear, and versatility. There were a lot of looks that could be transformed into other styles.
Sophia: Well, I think when you’re the younger sibling, you just assume the older ones know more. I would have to ask someone above me; that’s just the rules of life!
Olivia: We always go on a trip together every August. We’re hoping to go to Europe, and then we’re excited to get this farm up and running in Rhode Island. It’s a lot of work and all up to us. If there’s a Season 2, it’s gotta be here. It’s a lot of drama! It’ll be the new The Simple Life!
Olivia: There were certain moments of vulnerability. I hope that people can relate to us. That’s the real beauty of connecting with an audience. Did you learn anything new about yourselves during the Olivia:process?It was a lot of time, a lot of vulnerability, a lot of letting people in on a different level, which took getting used to and was a learning curve. We had to be comfortable with putting it all out there for people to see and judge. Hopefully, they can relate to it! But having one another as a safety net during that process was definitely reassuring. I feel like typically you’re not doing this with your family, so it’s nice all going into it together and taking a risk together. So besides fashion and TV, are there other industries you want to engage in?

Sophia: It followed us each through our own realities, which are all very different. I’m in a newish relationship, so we were following things like that. It was about getting to know us and our own lives individually and then us together, us with our family. We were in Rhode Island, so we showed a lot of different dynamics within the family! How many dogs are there?
Aurora: Right now I’m working on a website that has a lot of home décor. I’ve renovated four houses before, and I’m helping our mom now with her situation here with the barn and the farm. We hope to renovate our barn. Sophia and I both share an interest in that space, and we actually both have a candle coming out with a company called Wakeheart.
Sophia: It was a lot of work and a lot of time together, so there was definitely arguing, but a lot of fun. We got to spend time with our family. It was a whole new world and experience, and we all learned a lot, even about our own limits of working with one another. Did you film in Rhode Island with the rest of your family?
Olivia: There was nothing that we wouldn’t talk about on social media, too. We’re pretty open on Instagram! It was just another platform to communicate with people. What do you want viewers to take away from it?

Sophia: We’re excited to see where this show takes all of us. I would love to work in the wellness space; that’s something I’ve always been interested in. I’m excited for all the opportunities to come! Anything else fun coming up?
Olivia: Among the whole family…maybe six!? But Sophia and I each have just one; they were in the show, too! Reality TV usually demands giving up control. What was that like as people who usually produce their own content?

How’s your summer going? Are you recharging the batteries or busier than ever? It’s certainly been busy with planning, but I said I would take a week to 10 days off and I did! I went back to Italy, to my hometown in Calabria. I am close to my family and try to go back once a year to see them. I also went to the Amalfi Coast; it was so beautiful. I spoke my language again, and I ate in my language again! We are collaborating with an Italian atelier on a lot of tailoring, so I went to see them in Florence on the last three days of my trip, too. You’re about to launch the Fall collection, your debut. How are you feeling? It’s exciting! I’m on the website every day, and I really want to share it! It’s been months in the making. I want to share the vision; I feel very strong about the wardrobe staples we’ve created for the BCBG customer. It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, and there’s new talent leading BCBGMAXAZRIA

What has struck you most when looking through the BCBG archives?
In every city, I always take time for myself to sit and watch and try to understand the way women move in their clothes. I consider myself very fortunate to have worked in different countries and to have gained this knowledge of different markets; you can’t just be in a box and think you design for one country, as with e-commerce. The market has exploded, so traveling and meeting different women has been a blessing. What do you make of New York City women? They’re so fast! They lead an active life—she’s not going home to take a siesta midday! She needs clothes that are like a second skin that move with her and make her feel good about herself. Her fashion is definitely getting a bit more comfortable. What will the Fall collection offer to her? It’s like a good Italian meal—everything starts with ingredients. We started with fabrics; as a designer I’m intrigued by complicated fabrics, but I don’t use them. Fabrics need to move with your body. The Fall collection is a little more loose, flowing, and free. I’ll never say no to trends, but we’re not dictated by trends. What’s your goal for this next chapter of BCBG? My main goal is about the clients. I want to take her hand, introduce myself and my Signature Collection and say, “Please try it out.” I want her to see that there’s space in her closet for us. The customer that remembers us from prom, I would like to hear what she needs now and give her those separates, amazing fabrications, and fit—our fit has improved so much. What’s keeping you inspired? I have quite a collection of fashion books, especially old ones. At the beginning of the season, I like to look at those books and think of the past. Fashion is going extremely fast and we tend to forget where we come from—the craft and the love of creating garments. It’s not even about referencing them, it just gives me energy.
The beautiful women who have worn BCBG. They always tell me that they wore BCBG for their first date, first job interview, or to prom. There’s really a conversation there with people who’ve worn the brand. There’s particular aspects to a BCBG piece—the flowing side of it, the femininity, the lightness. There was always a modern touch that Max [Azria] would give to the garments, as well as color blocking and pleating. It’s something that I will keep in mind the more I get into designing, but making it my own. What’s your earliest memory of the brand? I was in the office in Milan working for Dolce & Gabbana, and we were listening to music and watching fashion shows. It must have been the early 2000s. We were watching the show and I remember the song that was playing…little did I know what would come one day. It’s definitely an iconic American brand. How did this role come to be? I was happy where I was, and it came out of the blue. I have an agent who asked me one day if I was interested. I was very interested! We started a conversation with the SVP at the time, and I was happy during the process as we got to know each other. It felt like I was already working there! Did you always want to be a designer? Absolutely! My mom says even when I was 3 years old, I was sketching. I come from a family of accountants and lawyers who didn’t think fashion was a job. But I’ve always been encouraged, and I slowly made my way to Milan. You’ve worked in fashion capitals all over the world. How does this prime you for what’s to come?
Is there a certain celebrity or muse you’d love to dress one day? I mean honestly, every celebrity is welcome! But I’m more interested in somebody who is up and coming as I also start out in my role. We could support each other and trust each other and build a true relationship—not just a one-night stand. I want her to shine and feel comfortable.

A morning swim in the ocean with my husband, mixed doubles later this afternoon, and at least three hours in the studio with the door shut and a podcast on. I have been listening to “The Great Women Artists” and “Talk Art.” I’m planning a painting trip to Sicily in early fall.
You’ve shown with Voltz Clarke Gallery before. How did your relationship with them begin? I met Blair Clarke through a mutual friend almost 20 years ago. At the time Voltz Clarke was an art advisory business. In a way, we have grown together. What will the show look like? Very good question. I have been trying to visualize it myself. There will definitely be a mix. I have not shown my abstract work in a long time, so there will be a bit of that next to the more figurative work and pieces inspired by spending time in Rome. I hope to have a few paintings from the “other peoples memories” series as well. That is the work that is inspired by found photography. I’m not sure how it will fit in, but I’m working on it. How do you describe your work? I tend to work in series. And I always have at least three different things in progress at one time. Currently I’m focusing on photographs that I took while in Rome this past spring. But there’s always the box of random photographs taken by strangers that tempts me. I have even made a few small sculptures of empty pools from a series This fall, Voltz Clarke Gallery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan welcomes painter Holland Cunningham for a solo show, Details , running from November 17 through the end of the year. THE DAILY SUMMER gets the scoop from the artist herself on what the show will look like and how photography plays a key role in her work. By EDDIE ROCHE I worked on a lot last year. I prefer to work on a small scale because I find it more intimate, and I like that the viewer has to take the time to get close to the work. But I’m also trying to free things up a bit and make some larger pieces on board and on paper as I have done in the past. How does photography connect to your work? Photography plays a big part in my work. Thirty years ago I was more a photographer than a painter. I studied art history and photography in college. I’m interested in the language of photography in painting. A close photographer friend described my paintings that way—an instant in time that oftentimes holds more memories and meaning than the image itself suggests. When did you start creating the works in this collection? Some of the work I started years ago, but most of what I’m doing today began while I was at the American Academy in Rome. I keep sketchbooks where I not only make drawings and paintings in gouache and watercolor, but I also write about ideas or things that inspire me. I’m also known to write down meals, especially when I’m Italy. One can find a painting of a palazzo or garden on one side and on the other side a description of the risotto or pizza I ate that same day. I’m always entertained when I go back to look at my sketchbooks. There are many. Would you say there is a recurring theme throughout your work? Memory and what remains. Whether it’s an ancient fresco in an ash-covered palazzo in Pompeii or a moment in time of someone’s family snapshot. Both are times past, but yet the memory remains. Your works have humor in them. Do you consider yourself a funny person or just a great observer of funny things? Both. I try to find humor in just about everything. Life is more fun that way. I’m afraid the work from Rome is not so funny, but I will find a way to bring humor into some of it. It may just be in the title. I’m not sure yet. You are a resident of Quogue. Do you work out here? I’ve been in Quogue for more than 20 years, and I have a small studio here. I find myself in the city once a week to work in my studio on Chrystie Street. It’s big and bright, and there are very few distractions. In Quogue, there is always the gorgeous beach, tennis, and family and friends to keep me distracted. My family and I enjoy winter weekends with a fire as much as the long summer days. What’s next for you?

I truly love what I do, and this gives me an energy that sets me apart from the rest. How did you start out in real estate? Real estate has always intrigued me. What began more than 25 years ago when I was a paralegal for a real estate attorney, quickly grew into a passion after I relocated to Westhampton Beach. While working as the village clerk in West Hampton Dunes, I gained an intimate knowledge of waterfront properties and the local agencies that govern them, and this further sparked my passion. After obtaining my real estate license in 2006, selling luxury waterfront properties on Dune Road quickly became my specialty. I continue to be as captivated by East End real estate today as I was from my first showing. You live in and love Westhampton Beach. What makes this part of the Hamptons so special? It’s truly a special place to live. I love that no matter where you are in Westhampton Beach or the surrounding hamlets, you’re just minutes from the ocean and our incredible beaches. The vibe is more low-key and relaxed than farther east, and Westhampton Beach has so much to offer. I love strolling down Main Street, indulging in ice cream with my family, dining out at our amazing restaurants, and enjoying the world-class entertainment at our one-of-a-kind Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. We have an awesome farmer’s market with all local vendors, as well as a weekly summer concert series held on our Village Green.
