trong indications emerged yesterday that the Presidency will ne[t week present the Medium 7erm E[penditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF & FSP) to the National Assembly for consideration and approval. The e[pected submission of the document to the two chambers of the National Assembly is preparatory to the presentation of the 2016 Appropriation Bill.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, who made the disclosure at a media brieÀng in Abuja, also said the late presentation of the MTEF to the National Assembly barely three weeks to the end of the 2015 Àscal year - has not violated any law. Enang, who said the Presidency and relevant government agencies handling the preparation of the MTEF had concluded arrangements on the draft document, reiterated that the National Assembly would receive the MTEF in a few days.

ustice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out four consolidated suits seeking the declaration of incumbent governor of Kogi State, Capt Idris Wada, the candidate of the PDP in the November 21 gubernatorial poll in the state as governor following the death of Abubakar Audu, à ag bearer of the APC. In the alternative, plaintiͿs in the consolidated suits also sought the conduct of fresh governorship election in Kogi State rather than allowing today’s supplementary poll À[ed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold. INEC had declared the November 21 governorship election inconclusive, directing fresh polls in 91 polling units of the state. However, few days after the death of Audu, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN) had announced that APC could substitute the late Audu with another candidate. On the heels of the AGF’s opinion, was a directive from INEC for the APC to replace the late Audu.
