from the President

It has been a while since the last Par for the Course and a lot has been happening. We have engaged a new General Manager, Peter Davies. Peter is three weeks into the position and is already making an impression with all that he has met. Peter brings to the position a wealth of experience and enthusiasm and is settling in well to the Hawks Nest family

We have been busy in other areas with:

Stage one of our solar upgrade completed, paid for and working well

Our fire panels have been upgraded

Our security panel has been upgraded.

The new switch board at the rear of the club is being installed on Monday the 4th March.

The practice bunker has been upgraded and already in use with Andrew & Glen utilising them for their clinics

The Playground proved to be a resounding success particularly over the holiday period It was excellent to see young family’s using the outdoor area and the kids having something to do rather than running through the club.

Our Lucky Members Barrel Draw is back on Wednesday’s, Friday’s and Sunday’s! We will now be drawing two winners each night to win the $100 club voucher.

The board met on Tuesday night the 27th February and passed a motion not to purge the pro shop account (Mi Club Competition Winnings) this year. We appeal to members to reduce their prize winning and balls by the three methods suggested If not successful in reducing the prize pool this year then the Board will revist the idea of purging the accounts next year.

The Winnings/Balls can be redeemed in the following manner:

Purchase golfing equipment, apparel, lessons or balls from the pro shop. Transfer to your club account and use the funds in the club for food and beverages.

Pay part or all of your next year ’ s golf membership Regards, Bill Hart - Club President

From the general manager

Hello Members, firstly let me thank you all for the very warm welcome. It has been a pleasure getting around and meeting you and it is clear that you are all passionate about the club and very proud of the wonderful facility you have here (and rightly so). If I haven’t met you yet, or have already introduced myself 4-5 times (you know who you are) I look forward to catching up with you soon

I’m a country boy having grown up in Grafton before chasing the Golfing dream at Kooralbyn Valley in Queensland I moved into course operations with Troon Golf and have been lucky enough to work in and on some of Australia’s newest golf courses After a stint in a office job I realised my passion was back in the golf industry, and lucky for me it has led me to Hawks Nest and the team here at the Club.

As some have found out, the downside is I’m a left-hander and support the MIGHTY Manly Sea Eagles, but I’m sure you won’t hold that against me.

I look forward to many golfing stories and teeing it up every now and then Regards, Peter Davies - General Manager

We have completed the construction of our new simulator room with the aim of enhancing our lessons, providing golf club fittings, and offering virtual golf experiences. Many members have already seized the opportunity to receive lessons and equipment fittings Keep an eye out for bookings or inquire at the Pro Shop for more details

This week marks the 38th Annual Ladies Classic at our club. Visit the Shop for fantastic deals on apparel and shoes, and don't forget you can use your prize accounts for purchases.

Glen’s Men's & Women's Golf Clinics, including the Ladies Give Golf A Go are commencing this week. Spread the word to any friends interested in taking up golf to secure a spot.

Our Super Sundays have been incredibly successful, and it's wonderful to see our members actively participating in the Sunday competitions again. Keep your eyes peeled for the next round on Sunday April 7th.
