Gift Registry Etiquette It is improper form to mention wedding gifts/registry in any part of your wedding invitation. So how do guests know where you are registered at? There are a couple of options. 1. Enclose a card in the invitation directing your guests to your wedding Web site. Your guests will find the information there. 2. Make sure family and close friends know where you are registered. They can pass the word on for you. 3. It is alright to mention where you are registered within the wording of a bridal shower invitation.

Photography Tips Since time is often limited between the ceremony and reception it is best to take all posed photos before the ceremony. If you are wanting to capture that special moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time in her wedding gown a simple solution is to arrange for the groom to be alone and have the bride enter the room alone and only have the photographer present to capture the special moment.
Showcase and preserve your precious wedding memories.
• Photo/Video Keepsakes • Custom Wedding Videography • Wedding Video Transfers to DVD • Wedding Video Editing • Wedding Video Duplication • Organize, View and Share your Wedding Videos on the Digital Video Archivee Cloud V
If there are details that are special to you make sure you let the photographer know that you would like these captured, such as special jewelry, special guests, etc. Let your photographer know your preference in style, such as candid shots, posed, black & white or color. Don’t be afraid to let the photographer have free range of capturing moments especially at the reception.

Looking for a Beautiful Venue, but Don’t Want to Break the Bank?
Less is MORE!
Picking a beautiful venue during its off season is a sure way to save fees on the venue rental. Most venues depending on the location have what is called a shoulder season, ask the venue what their specific shoulder season is and be flexible! If you ask any photographer, the best photos are on overcast days! Some of the most beautiful photos are when the snow is coming down, the rain just stopped pouring and the ground has a wet glow. If you must get married in the summer, having a beautiful Sunday wedding can be cost effective. If guests know in advance of a Sunday wedding, your closest family and friends will request time off to celebrate with you. This ultimately makes for a wonderful celebration filled with people who genuinely want to be at your wedding.
We all know that décor can transform a room and create a magical space, and with Pinterest part of our daily browsing, it’s hard not to want your wedding to look picturesque. This can eat up your budget very quickly. Some things to remember, keep the ceremony décor to a minimum. You are in the ceremony location for 30 minutes at most, during this time guests are looking at you guys. All the distractions of aisle décor etc. goes unnoticed. Save the décor for the reception room where you spend the most time. Don’t waste money on printed programs, those get red and thrown out. On that note, don’t waste décor on the cocktail hour either, this is the time that people are nibbling on apps, getting drinks and catching up with friends, they aren’t looking for candles on the table, or monogrammed cocktail napkins.

Eat, Drink and Be Married!
Imagine taking 150 of your closest friends out to dinner. That’s what a wedding is, hosting dinner and alcohol for that many people is definitely expensive. If you want the celebration but don’t want the large bill, one suggestion is having the ceremony start earlier (3:00pm) or later (7:30pm) and host a cocktail hour. This gives guests a chance to grab a bite before, or if the celebration ends early then can eat more substantially after. As long as this is clear on the invitation, or through word of mouth, guests will definitely comply. Another option is simply hosting wine, beer and nonalcoholic drinks. Adding hard alcohol into the mix sky rockets the price of any celebration. The guests that are celebrating with you, will be happy with anything you offer.
Flower Power
Flowers are costly, consider half the tables with candles and half with fresh flowers. Do groomsman really need boutonnieres? They take off the jackets right after the ceremony anyway…perhaps a pocket square instead. Finally, Incorporate the bridesmaid bouquets into centerpieces. Have your florist cut the bouquets to fit into a vase after the ceremony is complete to be placed on a reception table.
Keep it Professional
While it might sound very economical to make everything yourself, have your friends run errands for the wedding, your mom or aunt bake your cake, your fiancés friend DJ, as the bridesmaids bring your décor vision to life, there is something to said about leaving it to professionals. Yes it saves money, but can you put a price on sanity? The wedding day should be a stress free day for not only you, but your guests and family included. Everyone offers their help, but until the day arrives, no one really knows what they signed up for. Find vendors that can work within your budget, vendors that perhaps are just getting started in the industry, vendors that you have heard about thru word of mouth. Work with talented people and be upfront with what you are prepared to spend. Let your guests arrive all dressed and ready to party…this is also key to keep your inner bridezilla at bay.

Destination Weddings & Honeymoons
Presented by Orientations Travel Tip from Marc
Tip from Marc
The Caribbean hurricane season peaks from mid August to September.
Northern climates are best planned during warmer weather.
Caribbean Islands
Note that there are so many different cultures and experiences to have in the Caribbean. Having been colonized by many different cultures the Caribbean has diverse populations and traditions. St. Martin for example has both a Dutch side and French side of the island. Most islands have a gambit of different types of accommodations available to you from private villas to resorts and all inclusive properties. When booking a wedding or honeymoon in an all inclusive resort everything is included in one set price including your ceremony, accommodations, food, alcohol and activities. There are all inclusive properties for every budget and life style. Perhaps one of the best values for a wedding or honeymoon in the Caribbean is the Dominican Republic. It is good to keep in mind that the resorts will have perks for you based on the size of your party.
Cruiseships
Perhaps one of the most economical ways to plan a destination wedding or honeymoon is with a cruise ship. When you plan your wedding or honeymoon on a cruise ship everything from your nuptials to food and entertainment and accommodations is included in one price. Most cruise ships have dedicated chapels on board as well as someone to perform the ceremony. Another very nice feature of a wedding at sea is that pricing is very affordable and many times you will be able to have a lot of people attend. The wedding industry is very profitable to the cruise lines and they are prepared to handle every detail for you. If you book a large enough group you can very often have added value perks included such as private receptions and even free berths. Another attractive feature of a wedding or honeymoon on a cruise is that you can do it anywhere in the world, think Italy, Alaska, Caribbean or even Asia.

Hawaiian Islands
Hawaii is a beautiful place to have a wedding or a honeymoon. Many people dream of one day being able to go to this tropical paradise. Scheduling your destination wedding or honeymoon in Hawaii can make this a reality for you. It is very important to know that Hawaii is a very diverse destination. Each island has a very different vibe and in many ways culture. Sure all the islands have resorts and beautiful beaches but they also have their distinct flavors. In planning your time in Hawaii it will be important to decide what kind of an experience you want to have i.e., do you want a very cosmopolitan experience Ohau, if you want many recreational opportunities you might consider the Big Island or Kauai the garden island. If you want to have a pampered resort experience you might consider Maui. An important consideration in planning a Hawaii trip is to keep in mind that you there are many micro climates from tropical to desert and tundra. A final note about Hawaii is that most of the resorts have onsite wedding planners who will handle every detail of your wedding for you and very often their services can be included in the price of your group.

Las Vegas Nevada
Many people don’t realize how big weddings and honeymoons are for Las Vegas. On average there are over 300 weddings held in Las Vegas each day. This figure translates to the fact that they know what they are doing and they do it well. All of the major properties are very well set up to give you a wedding to remember for the rest of your marriage. If you want an Elvis impersonator to perform your ceremony it can be arranged for you. If you are on a limited budget Las Vegas has options that many couples can afford. If you’re looking for an over the top affair, this too is available. A honeymoon in a suite in Las Vegas can be a truly magical memorable experience for the new couple. Las Vegas never sleeps and there is world class dinning and entertainment for you to enjoy. Another nice feature of Las Vegas is that there are almost always affordable flights to Las Vegas from just about everywhere.
