Transformation of iron-identified Alpine industrial pilot

Location: Nanjing, Austria Area: 20 hectare Time: 2019.10 - 2020.1 Type: post industrial landscape planning

Eisenerz

As the biggest iron mine in middle Europe, Erzberg had been the driving force of labor and money here for centuries. The iron-related activity shaped the image of Eisenerz and it has become the inner proud of citizens there. Our project site Munichtal was originally an ironworks site with direct railway connection to Erzberg, dealing with iron mines excavated there. Munichtal will become a productionresearch complex with its iron identity be kept and more importantly, be refreshed. In the past when people mention Eisenerz they would come up with impressions like heavy work, extensive, masculine. In the future, when people mention Eisenerz, it is still about iron, but it would be about vitality, intelligence and sustainability.

Drunk City

L OC AT ION

transformed from dying space to featured beer city In recent years, the southern Bohemian city, Budweis, famous for its budvar beer, experienced a stagnated economy, increasing unemployment rate and a large amount of abandoned public space. The project, ‘Drunk City’ creates a new city identity with the beer industry. It aims to localize the upstream and downstream industries of the brewing industry and to make the whole production process combined with urban landscape and interactive.

The site is located between the new development and the old town, with roads and moats on either side. Due to its linear space characteristics, its interface with the surrounding environment is large, so a series of space modules are used for specific design, including the relative elevation transition between the park and the road, the relative elevation transition between the park and the river bank, the planting method of the plants in the park, the planting method of the linear space on the road side, and the different types of open space design. beer plaza

On the basis of the space modules, according

to the environment and the possibility of human activities, more specific design contents are established in the park. The whole park is divided into five parts, namely, the square area in the north surrounded by the buildings of new city, the hills area . the brewing garden area and the wheat field in the middle, as well as the classical garden area closely integrated with the existing buildings in the south. At the same time, other open spaces in the city are renewed and closely linked to the beer theme, offering a variety of possibilities such as dining, sports, leisure, and gatherings.

WHE A T FI E LD The wheat can serve as the main landscape vegetation during summer and autumn. Wheat will be used for beer brewing after harvest. People can participate in the whole process of sowing, watering, fertilizing, de-worming, harvesting and threshing. Participation can earn points for redemption of beer production, which can promote the development of tourism. At the same time, there are also professional workers who are responsible for the maintenance of the wheat fields, which means more jobs opportunity.

Tangshan is famous for its rich hot spring resources and natural scenery. However, in the past years, excessive mining has destroyed the geology and vegetation, polluted the water and caused groundwater-related subsidence. The project, ‘study with water’ creates new series of educational experience. Researchers, children, explorers, vacationers can participate in and learn about ecological knowledge and have a pleasant experience.

TUM Weihenstephan campus western extension

Location: Nanjing, Austria Area: 400 hectare Time: 2020.04 - 2020.7 Type: campus planning

According to the charateristic of Weihenstephan - life science and the resources from the site, we want to develop the new campus area as a hybrid of two lifestyles - “urban life” and “country life”. We would like to bring sharing infrastructures here which will activate the potential here and promote the community life. Meanwhile, sharing infrastructures will be integrated with the site’s characteristic, such as natural environment, vast farmland and campus’ facilities. Finally, an innovative campus will be built up on the basis of keeping essential characteristics.

Days and Nights in Shamshuipo

As one of the most prosperous cities in the world, Hong Kong has a large population density and a small per capita living area. Hong Kong‘s most iconic building is a towering and dense residential apartment, and Sham Shui Po is one of the most famous residential areas. The high density here crushes people‘s privacy and dignity. And the ecological environment is getting worse.

1. Introduce the ecological space with the productive ecological space into the city 2. Restoring the space affected by land reclamation, reshaping the ecological coastline, and combining coastal ecological space with agricultural space. 3. Renovate urban abandoned land, introduce ecological agriculture and urban agricultural tourism

Landuse Recombination

This project explores a resilient development model to reorganize and mix different land types

Through the reorganization and blending of these different habitats, the project hopes to improve the efficiency and vitality of urban space utilization, so that heterogeneous people and species can better inhabit, thus exploring the possibility of a metropolitan resilience.

Time Machine from interior to open space

Location: Nanjing, China Area: 800 m^2 Time: Sept. 2016 - Nov. 2016 Type: student center

On the campus, two historical long house with brick and wood structure are facing the problem of aging structure and broken exterior-protected construction, needing great renewal or demolition. The project, ‘time machine’ tries to preserve the texture and memory of the place, turning the old building into an exhibit. The new bulk is built on the original open space, and the original building becomes courtyards and plazas, making the space more varied and rhythmic.

N 5m

The building is located on the campus of Nanjing Southeast University in China. There are two high-rise sloping roof brick-and-wood structures on the site. The service life has exceeded 40 years. Some structures and facades are damaged. It needs large-scale renovation and transformation into students. activity Center.

Yesterday Once More Social Residence

The building is located at the junction of the new and old city. Through the study of the architectural form and style of the historical site of the city of Budweis, I tried to restore the former appearance of this area and reawaken the memory of people. The building uses a large number of brick and concrete arches as the material of the façade, giving a stable, safe and long-lasting feeling, consistent with the temperament of the old city. This 240-metre continuous façade faces the old town and offers a relaxing view of the old city. They are like photos hanging from the wall.

Budweis is home to the famous brewery budvar, which provides a large number of jobs for the outside population. At the same time, budweis is also an important Roman settlement in the Czech Republic. In recent years, the number of foreigners in budweis has gradually increased, and it is necessary to provide a large number of social housing. The ground floor of the building is the shop and the city exhibition hall. The 1-4 floors are apartments with an area of 80-120 square meters, which meets the commercial, residential and cultural needs of the residents. This building will awaken the once brilliant budweis, a former bohemian city.

Located on the bank of Xuanwu Lake in Nanjing, this building is backed by the Ming Dynasty City Wall. It is a central tourist center and cruise ship terminal of Xuanwu Lake Park with a building area of about 800 square meters. Xuanwu Lake was once an imperial garden 1000 years ago. It has Chinese classical architectural sites. This design extracts the elements and materials of Chinese classical architecture and uses

modernist design techniques to inject traditional cultural elements into the contemporary urban environment. The building is divided into two parts, using a gallery to connect to the courtyard, cleverly handling the height difference of 5 meters from the roadside to the shore. The building form is free, and together with the hustle and bustle of the city walls and the vast lake water, it forms a landscape painting.
