2014 sponsor and exhibitor prospectus 52nd youth arts festival The Michigan Youth Arts Festival is a comprehensive arts spectacular, culminating a nine-month search for the finest artistic talent in Michigan high schools. More than 250,000 students across the state are involved in the adjudication process that results in nearly 1,000 being invited to participate in the annual three-day event. It is here that these exceptional students in the arts gather together to explore, celebrate, and showcase their talent in multiple disciplines. The 52nd Michigan Youth Arts Festival is May 8-10, 2014, at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. All 20 performances and exhibitions are free and open to the public. Arts patrons travel near and far from all points throughout Michigan to support their youth artists. Community members from Detroit to the Upper Peninsula to Saginaw and Kalamazoo are all represented both on stage and in the audience. An estimated 6,500 audience members attend across all three days.
audience: a statewide community Youth Artists 1,000 talented high school students who understand the value of practice, hard work, and determination. They are training to think creatively, evaluate, and improve their craft, expressing themselves to their fullest potential. These artists are simultaneously developing the skills to be writers, actors, musicians, and dancers, as well as educators, entrepreneurs, and leaders. These Youth Artists represent the best and brightest of Michigan.
Arts Educators & Patrons Passionate advocates for education, the arts and the children in their communities. Teachers, each with a network encompassing hundreds of students and their families, are vocal supporters of products, services and causes they care about, and compassionately loyal to the people they serve.
Parents Dedicated facilitators of creativity and talent. Parents of student artists are deeply invested in the future of their young adults as they prepare them for college and the workplace.
Performances Presenting sponsors have the chance to meet their target audience in person, by exhibiting at the performances that bear their name. Not only are event sponsors’ logos and names featured in public schedules, student publications, and performance programs, but the events themselves offer the opportunity to interact face-to-face with students, educators and parents in an electric setting.
Publications Ad space is available in the Festival Program, a complete, commemorative guide to every event and artist. Every student, every audience member, and every educator receives one. It’s an inexpensive way to reach families across the state of Michigan. The Creative Writing Book offers a chance to target a more specific population - every student artist whose writing is featured in the book receives it as a keepsake, and additional copies are available for purchase at the Festival.
opportunities Networks All Festival sponsors will be fully integrated into our online presence, with click-through logos on the Michigan Youth Arts website; in multiple statewide e-newsletters to over 10,000 current students, arts education leaders, alumni and supporters; as well as through the networks of our member associations in different artistic disciplines. Presenting sponsors of public performances may also be featured in statewide and local media coverage.
