LouFest 2016
Meet me in St. Louis September 10th and 11th in St Louis’ Forest Park for LouFest. LCD Soundsystem, Chris Stapleton, and Lauryn Hill will meet up in St. Louis along with over 30 national acts on 4 stages on Central Field in Forest Park. September, 2016 finds LouFest entering its 7th year, adding the Market Square showcasing local artists, and the Nosh Pit celebrating the Lou’s culinary excellence. LouFest features local, regional and national acts, with an aesthetic range from funk and indie-rock to alt-country and soul. Four stages will present alternating performances throughout the weekend. The festival grounds also include a children’s stage and village. With a nod to its indie rock roots LouFest preforming artists include Band of Horses, The Kills, Diarrhea Planet, Twin Peaks and (St. Louis’ own) Foxing. Stone-cold blues icon Buddy Guy is also on the 35-act bill, as is funk/soul favorite Charles Bradley, “livetronica” stars Big Gigantic, Americana artist Shakey Graves and New Orleans jazz celebrants Preservation Hall Jazz Band. As Esther proudly announced to her family at the end of “Meet Me in St. Louis” - I can’t believe it. Right here where we live. Right here in St. Louis. Mower Won’t Start?
No matter how much you love mowing your lawn, there’s always something special about that first cut in the spring. It’s that initial opportunity to bring your lawn back to life after winter’s frigid temperatures finally give way to warmth. And operating a lawnmower instead of a snow blower can be deeply satisfying. But what if you’re out in your yard, ready to cut the grass and your mower won’t start? Before you get worried and start to consider serious problems with your mower, take a deep breath. The solution could be far simpler. Instead of a problem with your mower, it could be a problem with your fuel. To prevent fuel issues from ruining your first cut of the season, keep these tips from in mind.
Keep ethanol use to a minimum

Ethanol is gaining popularity at the pump and many new vehicles are adaptable to this fuel change. Most engines produced to date for use in outdoor power equipment are not designed for gasoline with more than 10 percent ethanol (such as E15, E20 and E85); using higher ethanol fuel blends may lead to engine damage and/or performance issues. Before you insert a fuel into your engine read the engine operator's manual and equipment operator's manual for information on what fuel can, and cannot, be used in your machine and to understand applicable warranty coverage and exclusions.

When obtaining fuel for your mower, look for ethanol-free options that are at least 87 octane. If you must use an ethanol fuel, look for options where the ethanol content level is less than 10 percent and at least 87 octane.

Keep your fuel fresh
Come See Jimmy Kavadas for a Quality Pre-Owned Vehicle
Fuel that has been sitting inside your mower’s fuel tank since last season should be emptied and replaced unless you have treated it with a fuel treatment. While it’s best to purchase only a one month supply of fuel, Toro’s Premium Fuel Treatment can keep fuel fresh for up to 12 months when you add one ounce for every two gallons of fuel. It also protects your fuel from corrosion and cleans the intake valves and carburetor varnish.
Know where to look for help
If you have any questions regarding the right fuel to use in your mower, the owner’s manual is an invaluable resource. Consult it and you’ll learn more about the mower, its motor and any applicable warranties. Owner’s manuals can be accessed at Toro.com. You can also find out more information about your mower by visiting the company’s website. A mower that doesn’t start can be a discouraging beginning to mowing season, but it isn’t always a sign of larger problems. Sometimes the most obvious solution is also the simplest. The problem with your mower may not be the machine itself but the fuel inside.

Don’t Know How to Clean Your Keurig? Keurig coffee makers and other single serve machines are an incredible convenience, but there’s one area where they’re NOT easy or helpful at all: keeping them clean. All those small parts and different compartments can be intimidating for even the cleanest of people, and no matter how much we try, how can we be really sure that our machines are as clean and safe as possible? By following these directions from Clean My Space! She’s here to show us the best way to effectively clean those Keurigs, and tips for preventing messes in the first place. Check it out! If you’re thinking, “Oh, I don’t need to clean that, it’s fine!” consider this: how clean your coffee machine is and how well your water is filtered will affect the coffee you’re drinking. Not just the taste, but how easy it is to brew, and how SAFE it is for you to be drinking. Most important of all, you’re saving yourself serious money; taking care of your Keurig by giving it a good clean like this every once and a while will make sure it stays working for longer, which saves YOU from having to out and buy another expensive appliance! So, coffee lovers, this seemingly necessary cleaning task is a must-do! Don’t worry, it’s much easier than you may be imagining.
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

Materials White vinegar All-purpose cleaner Dish cleaning liquid Cleaning toothbrush Microfiber cloth Step 1: Take off and apart the lid and the reservoir of the Keurig. Step 2:Take your K-cup section and funnel apart. Step 3: Take off drip tray and cover. Step 4: You can now put the reservoir, funnel, drip tray, and cover go in dishwasher. Or put all these parts in the sink with hot, soapy water for 10 minutes. Step 5: Use your cleaning toothbrush to scrub out any coffee grinds from the K-cup area. Step 6: Wipe your Keurig down from top to bottom with the microfiber cloth. Use vinegar on your cloth to clear off any hard, white spots. Step 7: Reassemble your Keurig and do a descaling cycle. Step 8: To descale your machine, run the reservoir with white vinegar and make cups of hot vinegar until you’re done. Run some hot water through after to get rid of that vinegar taste and smell. Following these instructions will keep your appliance going strong and providing fresh cups of coffee for years! Just make sure to do this once a month or once every other month for the best results.
Here’s a few more quick tips:
Make sure to dump out the water from the reservoir if you’re going away, to prevent hard water stains from forming. Made something sweet, like hot chocolate? Run a cleansing cycle through to prevent the sugar from crystallizing and clogging up your system. Use distilled water if you can instead of tap water in your Keurig. Distilled water doesn’t have mineral build up, so it will keep your Keurig cleaner and running more smoothly.
