Why practice your off-roading skills
Off-road driving is inherently dangerous, where there is a significant risk of damage to one’s vehicle, and possible injuries to its occupants. So having the right skills is essential. With Covid lockdown, most of us are probably a bit rusty with our 4 wheeling skills. So, before we go hit the trails, it is probably a good idea to get some practice in. Here are some photos of places the club has plans to visit, which are all the more reasons to get your skills up.
Where is this practice location?
The practice location is the Ballarat 4WD Club’s Training Track facility, located in Smythesdale Vic, 19km SW of Ballarat. It is approximately 1.5hrs drive from Melbourne CBD. The facility is equipped with a variety of terrain features designed to test and challenge 4WD and their drivers within a safe and controlled environment.
The plan The plan is simple. 1) We meet up at the Bakery Hill Macca’s at 10am 17 Victoria St, Bakery Hill VIC 3350 2) We head to Smythesdale in a convoy (so nobody gets lost) 3) We spend the day driving and challenging ourselves and our vehicles at their facility 4) We go for a post trip drink 5) We head home
Cost The venue hire costs $200 for the day - Up to 10 drivers (fully vaccinated participants only) - Cost is to be divided amounts those attending - Fees are to be paid by end of Oct, so the club can transfer the cost of booking to the Ballarat 4WD Club
