Creative Report
Interview with a professional Hiller Goodspeed
‘When I first started doing freelance work I had to seek out most everything I did. Which is tough. But a benefit of sharing work online is that there are potentially a lot of people being exposed to it. And hopefully, eventually, an art director or a band or someone will come across something you’ve made and think “Oh hey yeah that’s great, let’s get them to make stuff like this for us”.’
‘I think, as with a lot of schooling, you take what you need and find useful and slowly forget the rest.’
‘This doesn’t really have much to do with illustration, but I would tell myself not to worry so much. I have wasted so much time being anxious about the future and hypothetical situations, but everything has turned out okay so far so maybe save that energy for something more productive.’
