Revamping a Palace into a Bank: In Damascus, structures shaped by generations of prosperity transition from opulent palaces to functional banks. Wood and stone craft walls and ceilings, while sustainability thrives through lighting, ventilation, rainwater reuse, and re imagined entrances and windows inspired by Mashrabiya, a traditional architectural touch.

The aim behind this algorithms is to generate infinity typology and forms by creating flexible structure system. The ceiling has been designed and subsequently structurally analyzed using grasshopper and Karamba software.

Design Concept:
• A 6x4 meter rectangular grid is used.
• Bolts secure the plates onto the rails.
• This grid is divided into 28 horizontal rails.
• Each rail has 27 fixing points, totaling 746 across the grid.
• Vertical connection via individual screws is used for these points.
• Stainless-steel plates (20x20 cm) are supported by these screws.
• Screws vary in height (10 to 50 cm), offering around 40 options.
• The grid’s frame is iron (4x4 cm square cross-section).
• Welding four 2-meter by 6-meter pieces forms the frame.
• Mirror-finish stainless-steel plates (20x20 cm, 4 mm thick) are the main material.
• A 2x1 meter stainless-steel sheet is divided into 50 sections.
• The coal was coated with a thinner material to preserve its shape, prevent future staining, and give it a glossy finish.
The ceiling was designed and then structurally analyzed using Grasshopper and Karamba software.
