Healing clay: The Natural Resource was declared as “HEALING” after the 12th assembly of the Committee of Law 3498/2006. Based on the scientific facts, it is characterized and identified as: “Turfic Organic Therapeutic Clay of Krinides Kavala” Characteristics of healing clay: Clay temperature in its natural reservoir: 27° Celsius: PH: 7.30, Conductivity 720 mS/cm Chemical analysis of mature clay: (Na2O=1,2), (K2O=3,4), (CaO=1,2), (MgO=1,1), (Al2O3=18,5), (Fe2O=4,6), (SiO2=6,2), in (% w/w) The minerals of clay are: Montmorillonite,Kaolinite, muscovite etc. Therapeutic indications: a)Musculoskeletal system b) Skin diseases. The skin diseases that can be treated with the therapeutic clay of Krinides are: Acute Eczema, psoriasis, ichthyosis, scleroderma, Juvenile acne, Acne Rosacea. Very important is the preventive use of Krinides Clay, in order to avoid or reduce relapses of the above mentioned chronic skin diseases. Contraindications are reported to be the cases of mycosis fungoides, and tuberculosis as derma blood cancer as severe pyodermatitis. Mud bath indications towards rheumatic diseases are: General indication: All the Rheumatism diseases with a transition or intention of transition to chronic injury rather than joint injury. Inflammatory arthropathy, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis Degenerative arthropathies, e.g. osteoarthritis, spondyloarthritis. Soft tissue rheumatism, e.g. shoulder periathritis.

Healing water: th The warm water natural resource was declared as “HEALING” after the 12 assembly of the Committee of Law 3498/2006. The Committee evaluated the scientific elements and data and the mineral water was characterized and identified as: “Hypothermal, Ca, Mg, HCO3, Hypotonic, Healing Water of Krinides Kavala” Characteristics of healing water: Temperature of water: 28° Celsius ph: 7.5, Conductivity 315 mS/cm Dominant chemical elements: Ca, Mg, HCO3 Radioactive elements: Rn=5,53, Ra<1 and U<1 Healing abilities-indications: 1. Drinking therapy: diseases of intestinal and urinary. 2. Bath therapy: Diseases of musculoskeletal and skin diseases. Usage: Drinking therapy, bath therapy. Hydrotherapies at the healing tourism center of Krinides 1. Internal hydrotherapy. Drinking therapy: As treatment it is accomplished by drinking specific amount of healing water, where the spring is. Drinking therapy is advised to the following cases: Diseases of intestinal and urinary. The period of drinking therapy is determined to be 3-4 weeks, dependently. The drinking therapy has to be done with empty stomach and the amount of water is being measured usually in glasses of 250ml. Before the treatment begins it is necessary the visitor to be examined from the center's doctor. 2. External hydrotherapy: healing baths (bath therapy). The healing baths, hypothermic (with temperature 20-30 °C), warm (with water temperature 30-40°C), are recommended for muskoskeletar system, and for skin diseases: arthropathies, Rheumatism, Skin diseases. The healing bath is done in an individual bath tub or pool and lasts for 20 minutes. It is advised to be done in the morning and after a complete digestion. A healing cycle usually lasts 2 weeks and includes one bath a day. After the bath, it is advised to take rest, well covered for 20-30 minutes.
