Informal assessment habits and activities.
In order to do informal assessment, I am going to monitor the students work. They need to be encouraged to talk in English and share their ideas properly. Words like “good”, “great”, “good job”, and many other different patterns are very useful to motivate the students to work and learn more. When they are doing a speaking activity, it is good to give them feedback and correct the words or structures in order they learn. If the purpose is just communication, I will just encouraged them and be a facilitator related to new vocabulary. In writing activities, is better for students to work in class. For instance, I will be checking what they have been writing and then I will be giving feedback on their works. In that way, they will be secure when they hand in their last work. Finally, the assessment will be present in most of my classes. The students need to know how they are doing their homework and how much they are improving. If they notice that you are interested in their improvement, they will be motivated and will make a bigger effort every time they work.
