This is a unique trip that will allow you to discover the mysterious lagoon Chawacocha, where you will see flowers such as little water gardens and dark floating grasses.

Taking a look at the horizon you will surely see native South American birds such as the Lettered Aracari. You will hear the whisper of the Hoatzin, another bird, which its size is similar to the pheasant that lives in the lagoons of the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers Sani lodge is located in the intermediate corridor of YasunĂ­ National Park and Cuyabeno Reserve, this place is owned by Sani Isla Kichwa Community and embraces a total of 42,000 hectares (103,784 acres) of virgin rainforest. This is an exclusive Ecocamping that welcomes tourists with an astonishing biodiversity.

Part of the attractions is the trek through the forest, where you will be surrounded by 1,500 species of trees, hundreds of lianas and beautiful flowers; 550 species of tropical birds, 13 species of monkeys and 1,000 species of butterflies.

With our extensive knowledge about flora, fauna and biodiversity; we can give to our guests a real experience while enjoying a tour through the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest.

OBSERVATION TOWER Experience the life on the tree tops from the 36 meter (118 ft.) observation tower. Over 550 species of birds have been registered so far, including colorful birds such as macaws, toucans, honeycreepers, tanagers, flycatchers, hummingbirds and with a bit of luck a close view of howler, squirrel monkeys or sloths resting on the canopy.

The tower gives you a unique perspective, opening up a whole new world of Amazon biodiversity that is often difficult, if not impossible to see from the understory.

BUTTERFLY GARDEN

Our black water lagoon is one of the rarest paradises for the black alligator that is an endangered species, to support a healthy population of these large crocodiles up to 4 meters long.

After sunset, these non-aggressive and timid reptiles become active along the shore of the lagoon. At night, they can be seen swimming slowly.

Many animals remain hidden for most of the day but at night the forest comes alive with myriads of insects and other animals, this includes tree frogs ranging from the size of a nail to the size of a whole hand. A jungle trek at night is an opportunity to discover the mysteries of what happens in the dark and hidden corners of the jungle where few dare to venture.

Visit Yasuni Batterfly Garden, here you can see beautiful species of butterflies and take a walk through the Yasuni area where you will see the spider monkey, golden mantle, Parahuaco / monkey and even saqui. Here you will see yellow crowned parrots, yellow parrots, among others.

SERVICES

Restaurant / Guides / Transportation Sani Eco-camping is managed by the owners of Sani Isla Kichwa Community to ensure that profits are used to benefit of the community and improve education, health, and other interests.

On the other hand, this also ensures that visitors have a real cultural experience with a Kichwa Community located in the Ecuadorian Amazon Region.

The Eco-camping consists of 10 platforms with roof, that have inside simple tents / double tents with a capacity of minimum 6 people, maximum 30 people. Bathrooms are shared, we have one for men and one for women. Both have a shower bath.

Eco-camping offers different experiences for the most adventurous travelers.

PRACTICE OF CERBATANA Learn how to use this legendary weapon. The blowgun was used by Kichwa people as a method of hunting monkeys, birds, tapirs and other animals.

A liquid that comes from the mixture of plants and animal poisons, that locals call “curare�, it works as a paralyzing agent in the animals they want to hunt.

VISIT TO THE KICHWA SANI ISLAND COMMUNITY Visiting the community center is a rewarding experience, letting you see how a typical Kichwa family lives. The food, drinks, customs and culture of this commune will amaze you. One of the most special parts of your visit is to witness how the lifestyle of the locals is environmentally sustainable.

WALKS Guided walks begin after a relaxing canoe ride along Chawacocha Creek.

Eco-camping offers different trails depending on the requested level of difficulty. Guided walks will take you through the marshes, bridges through the dense jungle where you can find natural made fall-tree openings, and enjoy under the shade of the understory of the pristine primary jungle. Along the way you will learn about medicinal plants, try fruits and edible insects, and discover how to weave traditional palm fiber bags.

RATES

Rates are set for the current period, and won’t change unless there were increases in fuel costs, basic services, taxes decreed by the government, currency fluctuations or any other event that may affect the operation.

The air ticket rates, taxes, schedules, places and times of departure or arrival will be subject to change without prior notification.

RESERVATIONS Requests for blocking, reservations, cancellations, changes in reservations and payment confirmations must be made in writing and sent via email to be accepted by the Reservation Department of Sani Eco-camping.

A reservation will have the confirmation status only after the customer has made the first deposit (30% of the total value of the reservation) and the sales representative has corroborated the deposit. In this case the customer must receive a written confirmation of the received money with a detail of its amount and the value of the reminder balance, which must be processed 15 days before the tour begins.

The reconfirmation of the reservation will be guaranteed by the “Services Voucher” the letter cannot be issued without the receipt of the total payment.

PASSENGER PERSONAL INFORMATION For your registration and internal control, Sani Eco-camping requires the total and complete information of the visitors that enter to our locality. It is essential that the client send his data details once confirmed the reservation with a maximum of 30 days before the departure. The booking form must be completed and sent to the sales representative with the following information: • Name and surname • Passport Number • Nationality • Date of Birth DD / MM / YY • Age • Food and Medical Restrictions • Allergies

RESERVATION POLICIES Payments, cancellations and gratuities: • Sani Eco-camping and the client undertake to comply with all that is established in these policies.

POLICIES FOR ECUADORIAN PASSENGERS • Ecuadorian passengers have a 5% discount on the rack rates.

CHILDREN’S POLICIES • Children between the ages of 6 and 11 receive a 50% discount on the same platform with a tent, separated or shared with an adult.

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS POLICIES FOR GROUPS & FITS • All reservations require a minimum deposit of 30% per passenger of the total reservation, which must be done 15 days after the reservation confirmation.

• For reservations made between 90 and 45 days before the tour departure, the maximum deposit must be made 10 days after confirmation of the reservation and the total payment must be received 30 days before departure.

• For reservations between 30 and 1 day before departure, 100% of the payment is required at the time of confirmation of the reservation.

• All reservations must be paid in full 30 days before departure.

• If the client does not meet the payment dates established for reservations, Sani Eco-camping has the right to cancel the reservation and is not responsible for future customer complaints.

TOUR CANCELLATION PROCEDURE Within the general rules, Sani Eco-camping returns the deposits as follows: • 100% 6 months before the tour • 80% 5 months before the tour • 60% 4 months before the tour • 50% 3 or 2 months before the tour • 25% 1 month before the tour • 0% less than 1 month before the tour This policy is effective regardless of the reason of the cancellation. Eco-camping will return 100% in case of natural disasters occurring in the area.

We’ll always take 10% of the amount paid for administrative expenses in any cancellation.

Important note: In high season and / or excursions considered by Sani Eco-camping as high occupancy, Sani reserves the right to require the total and immediate payment of the reservations; including those reserves that have been confirmed in advance, in accordance with the policies previously described in this document.

PRIVATE GUIDES • English speaking naturalist guide $ 95.00 per day • English Speaking Ornithologist Guide $ 115.00 per day • Naturalist and Ornithologist Spanish Speaking Guide $ 95.00 per day At Sani Eco-camping we have English and Spanish speaker guides, in case of a request of a guide in a different language the solicitude must be made at the time of confirming the reservation with anticipation. We can confirm a translator in more common languages like: • French, Italian, German for groups of up to 10 people with an additional cost of US $ 115.00 per day per reservation (not per person).

• This fee is subject to change depending on the market and language, this extra charge must be canceled in advance, before the day of departure.

• The request for a translator in another language must be made at least 2 months in advance.

• Groups of up to 10 people, we guarantee a bilingual guide and a native guide.

Important Note: This alternative is not available once the passenger has arrived at Sani Eco-camping, this special request must be made with the reservations department, and this additional cost must be paid together with your excursion with 30 days of advance

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY Operation Warranty: Sani Eco-camping reserves the right to modify the itinerary including accommodation and transportation (air or river).

CHANGES IN ACCOMMODATION AND ITINERARIES • Changes or cancellations of force majeure by Sani Eco-camping will be informed to the client as soon as possible.

• In case of natural disasters or commercial reasons, Sani Eco-camping has the right to provide services of the same quality and / or price, if they are available. These changes will be informed to the client as soon as possible.

• The itineraries are subject to change without prior notice due to weather conditions, or other causes beyond the control of Sani Eco-camping.

• Although the territory of Sani Eco-camping is rich and abundant in flora and fauna we do not guarantee the particular observation of specific animals or plants during a tour. Sightings depend on environmental conditions.

• After a change or cancellation, if there is time before departure. Customers can choose between: A) Accept any tour alternative dates that Sani Eco-camping offers depending on our availability in the camping.

B) Return of the money already payed according to our cancellation polices.

PLATFORMS WITH CEILING AND TENTS Sani Eco-camping has 10 platforms with roofs which are built with single / double tents and a shared bathroom. The platforms are spacious, designed for single / double occupancy with 2 chairs each platform On the bank of Chawacocha Creek where the platforms are roofed, the camp offers a different experience for more adventurous travelers and lovers of nature.
