PROLOGUE

當我試圖詮釋對於景觀建築的核心理念時,我開始回想, 大學四年的景觀設計給了我什麼體會:我們的專業在於整 合多元領域,被教導要關心土地,討論社會議題,創造人 與環境的關係...。

這些說起來模糊,也不夠傳神,因此,是否有某種價值, 無法被清楚描述,卻又縈繞在感知中?隨著整理歷年學術 作品;瀏覽在世界的攝影紀錄;回顧空間給我的感動。 我隱約得出一個結論:

景觀無他,生活而已。

一切的需求與期望來自簡樸的原點,「生活」。文明來自 於人們建構的生活,生活來自於時空的累積與需求,而設 計師當然得反映需求到環境之中。隨著時代的變化與科技 的進步,影響我們每一個階段的生活;因為生活,我們開 始嘗試不同領域的整合與互動。這本作品集,將表達我在 處理空間與人群的關係上,不同思維的揣摩,包含著借鏡 過去的痕跡;解決現在的問題;探索未來的發展。

我叫侯至謙,生於台灣,記憶裡儲存著台灣多樣的自然風 貌;血液裡流淌著台灣小而奔放的庶民美學。而接觸不同 國家所帶來的衝擊,讓我意識到原創的價值,並擁抱創意 的劇烈變化。我也將持續探索空間與生活中,無限的可能。

I SYNTHESIZE

With the advent of climate change, energy and waste question, I believe that landscape architecture has the capacity to synthesize variety of professions to address questions in the future. 01_ PLANDSCAPE

An Experimental Landscape for Industrial Park

Location: Lukang, Chunghua, Taiwan

Site Area: 750ha

台灣海岸有嚴重的垃圾危機,絕大多數為不可回收的塑膠垃圾。目前傳統的處理手法: 掩埋或者焚化,一直無法真正的解決塑膠垃圾,反而造成更多的環境衝擊。

Plandscape,是一個以塑膠垃圾危機為切入點,設計啟動閒置工業區的綠色工業地景。

我們結合消化塑膠的細菌技術與解決CO2污染的微藻技術,將塑膠污染轉化成高價值 的綠色產品輸出,化塑膠垃圾為黃金。透過永續的工業地景運作,將全台最大的閒置工 業用地——彰濱工業區的崙尾區,以景觀操作建立工業地貌,探尋一個綠色循環地景的 可能。

工業用地遼闊,乃巨大的地表鑲嵌體。我們不僅要設計一個工業區,也要升華這種工業 地景為環境藝術。

台灣淨灘協會 2014年海洋 垃圾統計。

這些塑膠垃圾累積起來的長度 總和,相當於77座台北101的 高度,鋪滿10座玉山山脈,造 成巨大的環境負擔。

線型消費模式與工業化發展,消耗巨大 的資源,也產生了許多環境污染,如塑 膠垃圾。台灣無自然資源,不斷消耗原 物料的經濟模式無以為繼,必須隨著時 代進步而有新的開始...

台灣的西海岸正面臨嚴重的塑膠垃圾危機, 2014年台灣就有122萬噸塑膠廢棄物,即使有 很高的回收率,仍有70%,約90萬噸的塑膠垃 圾四散各地,造成了許多環境上的破壞。無論是 掩埋或者焚化,傳統的處理手法一直無法真正解 決塑膠垃圾,反而產生更多污染,直到...

細菌與微藻的結合, 能在處理塑膠垃圾的 同時創造更多價值, 是循環經濟的體現。

細菌分解塑膠垃圾, 微藻吸收其分解產生 的污染物,並生成許 多高單價的商品。藉 由這種綠色工業模 式,將垃圾變黃金。

INVESTIGATING THE SITE AND BIOTECH INDUSTRY [ Wind Rose ]

位於台灣西海岸的彰濱工業區,是一塊政府填海造陸的工業用地,位於中間的崙尾區, 更是政府一直以來無法有效利用的閒置土地。過去火力發電廠及鈦工業,都想進駐崙 尾區,但這類高污染的重工業,隨著環境意識的高漲皆遭否決。 我們將透過永續的工業地景運作,給予彰濱工業區——崙尾區,一個新的綠色希望。 [ Desertification ]

彰濱工業區已建設完善的交通路網,基地並非孤僻的離島工業區,未開發的基地內部紋理相對 較少,然而工業區切斷了台灣最大的潮間帶濕地,基地右側是修復中的淤泥潮間帶,崙尾區的 規劃需對右側生態進行回應。基地也面臨強烈的東北季風、土地沙化,在基礎建設的安全上也 需要被考慮。

The site environment is mainly faced with the land desertification, drought and ecological segregation. These problems are associated with the landform. The reclamation land with the broad and flat landform is led to the loss of biodiversity and severe environment, intensified negative impact on the site.

As the pond area increases, the depth of pond is deepened to enhance its temperature-holding ability in winter.

The depth is limited, and different forms of microalgae pond, runway pond and round pond, is according to their operational requirements.

CIRCULAR SOLUTIONS AND STRATEGY

概念是運用景觀整地的解決方案, 提供工業上安全與效率,修復環境, 最終達到C to C的循環經濟模式。

a. 透過整地,讓工廠保持安全運作 (擋風、防洪)並蒐集雨水,提供 其效率、節能運用。

c. 工業運作不是單一生產鏈,而是 生產、生態、生活的整合,達到永 續的綠色工業運作。

b. 潮間帶淤土的移除及堤防的挖填 平衡,捕捉海風及季節氣候的濕氣, 修復土地沙化,提高生態滲透。

The infrastructure of windbreak landforms keep out the strong wind, stablish the industrial area. Landforms scatter in order, capturing moisture and create microclimate within monsoon.

整體規劃上,透過挖填整地,在建立工業架構時,顧及綠色基 礎設施及生態滲透,確保工業生產穩定,同時兼顧生態發展。

藻菌工廠將污染轉化為綠色生產,收入提供土地復育,修復後 的地景昇華工業區的傳統想像,最終形成完整的生態工業園區。

According to the design criteria and redesgin the speacial industrial landscape. Plandscape deals with the serious desertification and provide various Functions and Programs to solve the issue of vacant industrial-zone plots.

1. Industry - production, plastic degradation, mingled landform, bioenergy, financial success...

2. Ecology - tidal wetland, eco floating island, green infrastructure, habitat preservation, water restoration, native landscape...

3. Commerce - recreational lake, education, tourism, job opportunity, exhibition, business conference, shopping...

通過護坡,區分工廠專用道路與綠色休閒動線,讓工業運輸保持順暢,也不影響休閒使用者。整地系統中,有基本的防護 地形,及集水的功能,同時在邊坡製造小水泡和緩丘,讓工廠順利運行同時,也兼顧右側豐富生態。我們讓整個工業園區 透過:生產、加工、服務的產業鍊,搭配右側的生態,營造一個循環、共生的系統。 水透過地形重力,以減少耗能的方式供給菌藻工廠,同時藉由地形回收降雨、工業用水,提供周圍生態、服務的需求。除 了基本工業用防風林,也維持原生荒草野地,水的滯留修復基地,帶來更豐富的濕地植物。除了菌藻工廠,以及水庫、海 水淡化,並有其他基本設施讓藻菌順利運作,而下游的產業鍊更帶來如研發、精緻加工、國際交流的商業活動。

Self-sufficient & Sustainable developement

Reservoir located at the high place which can provide stable and energy efficient operation of microalgae and bacteria. Windbreak tree and the landform facing the wind that collects the surface runoff through soil and provides shuttle.

Winding ecological slopes and undulating continuous hills create microcell bubble space and vairous tidal wetland, provide habitat of outer tidal zone and allow its ecology to infiltrate into the site shore.

The industrial model of bacteria and microalgae which can bring high-value industries and give the opportunities of biotechnology, research and development, and even international conference. Fresh water purified by the wetland provide wide range of recreation experiences to tourists and workers.

Let’s see how these factories digest the plastics waste!

As humans, we've adopted a linear approach. We take, we make and we dispose. The liner industrial system make we eating into a finite supply of resources, and often producing toxic waste. Massive idle plots still plague industrial zones and waste such as plastics still remain no solution to solve.

What can our industrial park become?

It's about the circular economy. Instead of a linear industrial system, PLANDSCAPE creates the cyclical model that turn plastic waste into gold. With creativity and innovation, we can rethink and redesign our future.

02_ ALGAE PLANT

An Inplantable Bio-Infrastructure as an Embedded Model for Industrial Regeneration

Location: Xiaogang, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Site Area: 1560ha

重工業的建設,曾帶給台灣能源與經濟上的成長;然而隨著時代演變,能源需求加劇,

帶來的環境後遺症也越來越嚴重。位於高雄小港的工業區,有中鋼、中油、大林電廠 等高污染排放工廠,儼然是台灣最嚴重的重度污染區,我們無法再依賴傳統綠美化工 程,必須建立一套工業區機制,反轉污染源為綠色養分。

這套機制並非全盤否定工業化生產,而是如同微型手術般植入循環工業模組,讓工業 區能自體淨化,結合搖籃到搖籃的概念,將污染轉為養分化成能源,並提供不一樣的 工業環境,讓環境的污染獲得正面的釋放,也還給高雄一片藍色天空。

MICRO-ALGAE MODULE AS NEW CIRCULATION INDUSTRIAL SYSTEM

[ Reason to implement algal module in Kaohsiung

Taiwan is the largest producer with 400t of algal biomass per years. Kaohsiung, located in southern Taiwan, has the potential to insert algal module in industrial park due to the folowing reaseons.

With such possibilities microalgae can offer, it brings new benefit to Linhai industrial park, showing new signs of potential for productive systems. By the development of algal modules in vertical and horizontal way, the industrial park is able to purify pollutions and generate into a infinite circulatory system.

The traditional fences and walls of industrial park can be replaced by the micro-algae glass panels. Through the transparent panel, the algae life cycle can be visible and make the industrial park friendly and interesting.

Microalgae modules are scattered along the industrial drainage system. In addition to absorb greenhouse gas and sewage, microalgae is also an essential food source for habitat preservation. The floating wetlands are welcome monitoring and research fields as well as study field for students.

Water outlet from sewage and desalination plants are inserted with the microalgae photo-bioreactor. They clean the wastewater, release freshwater into the surroundings through the forward-osmosis membranes. As algae grow, the nutrients are contained in the enclousures and create small mariculture for farming marine fish.

The cargo port is extended to microalgae-breeding platforms, convert the pollutions into biofuel. Besides, with the bioluminescent algae, the alagal platforms are able to emit light and served as a navigation for ships, boosting the Kaohsiung export promotion as a algal worldwide shipments.

II INTERTWINE

Landscape Architecture is a powerful medium that overlays varieties of layer. As a director that conducts every roles dancing together and intertwining stories in space. It not only contents with ecological and social aspect but with the adaptive relation in time and space, it has a capacity to create a harmonious connection system between human and environment, rediscover the value of space.

景觀建築是一種連結空間與人文的介質,如 同指揮家組織不同的樂器,讓空間彼此產生 對話,演奏出動人的故事。而正因為有時間 的流動,讓空間劇本裡除了社會與生態的觀 點外,更賦予環境上人與自然的和諧,也持 續挖掘對空間的想像。

A Re-envisaged Open Space for Living Memory

Location: Taipei, Taiwan

Site Area: 9,175sqm

台北,作為首都城市,他代表著民主、自由、包容與反思;作為一個華人的現代城市, 她蘊含著傳統文化的力量和創新思維的潛力。西區,作為台北城市發展的起點,代表 著從清末日據到現在的能量累積。北門,作為西區曾經的通關門戶與樞紐地標,代表 著台北城往日風華與古樸歷史。

如今,隨著台北市發展東移,西區被視為落後的象徵,昔日輝煌的北門被交通束縛,

逐漸被人們遺忘。台北都市的舊城再生,正期待著新的定義與機會重新解讀台北門戶。

2016年2月,忠孝橋引道的拆除,北門赤裸裸的聳立於交通廣場上,與周圍環境存在 著一種不和諧的狀態,我們開始質疑,北門廣場的願景,是否該如政策裡的西區門戶 計畫,有重塑過去歷史軸線地位的必要?

廣場,是都市裡的客廳,而客廳是放鬆的地方,無須多餘裝飾,只須基本的舒適功能, 其餘的留給眾多人體驗所累積出放大想像的場所。曾經的北門,見證了人來人往;見 證了周圍建築與發展的進進出出,現在換成我們,去認識北門廣場,跟紋理彼此對話。 北門廣場不該只緬懷過去,而是將客廳珍藏的回憶,散播出去啟動新連結的永續精神。

開放空間的流動縫合了人群之間的互動。

是什麼造就了我?不斷自我探索的過程,像 在黑洞裡游泳,一直找不到出口;偶然尋光 掙扎上岸,卻被突如的時間洪流給淹沒。

世界變化很快,生活從不簡單,我們像是一 部自動化機器,很多時候身不由己。「我知 道我現在應該做的,就是繼續呼吸。」因為 我相信最美的不是打上暗礁的浪花,而是當 潮水退去所遺留下的傷疤。

此篇為作品集收錄的後續,透過速寫、攝影、 創作等方式,描繪光照射在萬物反射至身心 靈後的成像,也是我與世界對話的方式。
