hen God is the driver in your life no matter what direction he takes you, you know you are never lost. Two years ago in the Summer of 2009, Danielle was invited to First Union Baptist Church for Women’s Day by her Aunt. It was a small church in the middle of nowhere she thought, but that little church made a lasting impression. She was greeted at the door by a handsome gentleman who handed her a single rose and a welcoming smile. That day that service drew Danielle to seek the Lord. At the time she was going through a lot personally and no one knew just how stressed out she was. Things continued to get bad in Danielle’s life and she began to pray and pray. She wanted to get to know the Lord, learn more about his word, and seek his guidance. So she set forth to find a church.
“She was greeted at the door by a handsome gentleman who handed her a single rose and a welcoming smile.”
Meanwhile Michael was going through his own set of trials and tribulations. Not many people knew of the pain he was in because he always wore a smile. He was praying that God would close the wounds in his heart and pull him through some of the darkest moments in his life. He felt trapped, and battled through depression and constantly struggled with keeping faith. Yet through his struggles he made time to help everyone else. He held on to God’s unchanging hand and waited.
“He held on to God’s unchanging hand and waited.” A whole year went by when Danielle found herself back at this little church in the middle of nowhere and there was that welcoming smile letting her know she found a church home. At the time she noticed Mike, who wouldn’t he is very attractive, but she was not looking for Love. It was the last thing she wanted. She needed God. Life was spinning out of control for her and on top of everything she was very sick. Months later she found herself in the hospital and strangely she was at peace because she had formed a relationship with the Lord. What she didn’t know was everything was going according to the Lord’s plan! The same smiling face came to the hospital to pray with her and as he grabbed her hands for a word of prayer she knew she had finally found the RIGHT man. She didn’t say a word but let nature take its course.
“They became inseparable”
From that day on they talked everyday all day and became very close very fast. It was like destiny. Nothing could keep them apart. Not even their baggage. It was not very long before they fell in love. Months gone by and they became inseparable, so they begin to ponder marriage. One day Mike turned to Danielle after church and said, “You are going to be my wife one day.” Danielle laughed because they were at a tire place and she didn’t know where such a random thought came from. Mike was letting her know that he knew what she knew since that day in the hospital.
Time went on and they began to go everywhere together and then their children began to go too and it just felt right. Like Family! Many may believe that it was all too fast, but the couple just knew. They prayed and talked to God and they just knew it was right. They began to focus on God and not what others thought. Many tests were thrown at them, but no matter what happened they worked through it together and it was those attitudes that lead them into the undisputable notion that they were truly made for each other.
“They began to focus on God and not what others thought.”

WHY BUTTERFLIES? We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty. ~Maya Angelou Danielle and Michael have both faced many trials and tribulations toget here today. They have loved and lost, experienced joy and pain. They made their share of mistakes and learned valuable lessons along the way, but through it all God has always had his arms around them guiding them and nurturing them. With each mountain they had to climb, they grew . Now they are a little bit stronger and wiser and ready for the path God has set for them. Yes, they both had a past but they look at it as their caterpillar stage. It may not been their best moments but it was needed. What God has taken them through has transformed them and when they both met the metamorphosis was complete. Now they are ready to spread their wings and fly together. Please keep the couple in prayer as God continues to transform them and make them anew! We all start as caterpillars but slowly grow Until one day we are all butterflies! THANKYOU We would like to express thanks to our parents, family, and friends for all their love and support. Thank you all for sharing this special day with us. Danielle & Mike
