Thank You Thank you for your contribution to our wedding. Weather it was your generous gift or your participation, it was deeply appreciated. Michael and I can’t thank everyone enough for their love and support. It was worth more than gold to us. We want to especially thank our families, for we know if it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t be who we are today. We love each and every one of you and want you to know you are in our prayers. We ask that you keep us in your prayers as we continue this journey together. We know living this Christian marriage won’t be easy but with God, our love for one another, and friends and families like you, we know we will always be ok. As our Nanny Evelyn told us, “It is ok to disagree, but never be disagreeable!” Advice like that and the words of wisdom that Aunt Artie and Uncle Robert gave us will keep us thriving for years. Thanks again and we hope you enjoy this magazine as a token of our appreciation.

hen God is the driver in your life no matter what direction he takes you, you know you are never lost. Two years ago in the Summer of 2009, Danielle was invited to First Union Baptist Church for Women’s Day by her Aunt. It was a small church in the middle of nowhere she thought, but that little church made a lasting impression. She was greeted at the door by a handsome gentleman who handed her a single rose and a welcoming smile. That day that service drew Danielle to seek the Lord. At the time she was going through a lot personally and no one knew just how stressed out she was. Things continued to get bad in Danielle’s life and she began to pray and pray. She wanted to get to know the Lord, learn more about his word, and seek his guidance. So she set forth to find a church.
“She was greeted at the door by a handsome gentleman who handed her a single rose and a welcoming smile.”
Meanwhile Michael was going through his own set of trials and tribulations. Not many people knew of the pain he was in because he always wore a smile. He was praying that God would close the wounds in his heart and pull him through some of the darkest moments in his life. He felt trapped, and battled through depression and constantly struggled with keeping faith. Yet through his struggles he made time to help everyone else. He held on to God’s unchanging hand and waited.
“He held on to God’s unchanging hand and waited.” A whole year went by when Danielle found herself back at this little church in the middle of nowhere and there was that welcoming smile letting her know she found a church home. At the time she noticed Mike, who wouldn’t he is very attractive, but she was not looking for Love. It was the last thing she wanted. She needed God. Life was spinning out of control for her and on top of everything she was very sick. Months later she found herself in the hospital and strangely she was at peace because she had formed a relationship with the Lord. What she didn’t know was everything was going according to the Lord’s plan! The same smiling face came to the hospital to pray with her and as he grabbed her hands for a word of prayer she knew she had finally found the RIGHT man. She didn’t say a word but let nature take its course.
“They became inseparable”
From that day on they talked everyday all day and became very close very fast. It was like destiny. Nothing could keep them apart. Not even their baggage. It was not very long before they fell in love. Months gone by and they became inseparable, so they begin to ponder marriage. One day Mike turned to Danielle after church and said, “You are going to be my wife one day.” Danielle laughed because they were at a tire place and she didn’t know where such a random thought came from. Mike was letting her know that he knew what she knew since that day in the hospital.
Time went on and they began to go everywhere together and then their children began to go too and it just felt right. Like Family! Many may believe that it was all too fast, but the couple just knew. They prayed and talked to God and they just knew it was right. They began to focus on God and not what others thought. Many tests were thrown at them, but no matter what happened they worked through it together and it was those attitudes that lead them into the undisputable notion that they were truly made for each other.
“They began to focus on God and not what others thought.”
Then on January 29, 2011 Mike proposed to Danielle presenting her with the ring he saw her looking at one day while they were out shopping. It was quite a surprise because Danielle thought he was going to propose Christmas and when he didn’t she was secretly disappointed, but Mike knew that is what she thought. He decided to wait. On an average day after Danielle had went shopping she came home with shopping bags galore. Mike was there waiting with Danielle’s sons and he asked to see her outfits. She thought weird, but had great fun modeling her new purchases when out of the blue Mike said, “I have something that will match that perfectly!” He left the room and came back with a small box and in front of the boys he got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. As tears streamed down her eyes she said yes!!!!! She then admitted that while she was shopping she went to the jewelry store and noticed that the ring she wanted was gone. She had no clue it was because he got it! God is good because he took two people who have been through so much and showed them how much he loves them by presenting them what they both prayed for, a match made in heaven. It was then that the wedding plans begun!
“She said yes!!!”

The couple left their reception and took a romantic ride in a Rolls Royce Phantom straight to the Poconos Paradise Stream Resort where the bride had plenty of surprises in store for the groom. From the moment they booked the honeymoon the staff at Paradise Stream was there to make sure there honeymoon would be one to remember, so when Danielle called ahead and ask them to set the room up for their arrival they were more than happy to meet her request. When the two arrived they were met with the most romantic atmosphere they had ever seen. It was straight out of the movies!
