A LETTER FROM DEAN CHOUDHURY

Greetings from the Daniels College of Business!

I am delighted that you are considering our graduate programs. At Daniels, we’re intentional about delivering an experience that enables you to create immediate value. The marketplace is defined by staggering levels of change, increased competitive pressures, global connectivity and technological disruptions. Problem resolution, critical and analytical thinking, agility, and cultural awareness are just a few of the attributes required to succeed in the 21st-century economy.

To keep our students prepared, we are constantly evaluating and re-evaluating the professional landscape—creating and developing a variety of programs to match. In just the last year, we have introduced a number of professional certifications and innovative short courses we call Sprints.

In our programs, you’ll be challenged with meaningful, action-based learning experiences, enriching co-curricular opportunities—including case and business plan competitions— and critical, thoughtful debates with your peers and faculty. Simply put, Daniels graduates are in demand because they leave us market-ready with creative problem-solving and strategicthinking skills. What’s more, they possess the character and selfawareness that are valued by today’s hiring partners. During your time in the program and after you graduate, the invaluable, global Daniels network of more than 40,000 alumni stands ready to help. DO YOU WANT A 16- OR 24-CREDIT CERTIFICATE?

The 16-credit Specialized Certificate

This certificate allows you to quickly earn a credential with tightly focused foundation courses that build your skills in a specific area. While this certificate is not eligible for federal financial aid, students are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships.

The 24-credit Advanced Certificate

This certificate starts with the same foundation courses as a 16-credit certificate, then adds eight more credits that either delve into the topics in more depth or allow you to explore electives. It's designed for students who are looking to develop more extensive skills or are planning to pursue a master's degree. The 24-credit certificate is eligible for both federal financial aid and scholarships.

SAMPLE PROGRAMS

Daniels currently offers a variety of certificates to help students boost their knowledge and career outlook. Both 16-credit and 24-credit certificates are available in each subject. See a few of our popular programs below:

Business Analytics

These certificates offer a deep dive into critical analysis and decision-making skills through the lens of data analytics. You'll learn basic coding principles, database design principles and data modeling techniques.

Digital Marketing

These certificates will arm you with essential, creative research and communication knowledge you can immediately apply to your career. These are the skills you need to thrive in the fast-moving fields of advertising, content creation, technology and marketing strategy.

Digital Transformation

Our certificates in digital transformation include immersive Sprints in emerging technologies, analytics, and leadership skills needed to digitally transform organizations. You'll learn through hands-on, real-world projects.

Leadership

These graduate certificates provide a foundation in individual and organizational leadership, giving you the insights you need to motivate teams and organizations to meet their strategic goals.

PATHWAYS TO A MASTER’S

Certificates are flexible, and there are several ways they can fit into your education at Daniels. If you start with a certificate, you can choose to continue and complete a master’s program. Or, if you’re a master’s degree student, you can add a certificate to your qualifications before or after you graduate. You must earn a B or better in all classes to transfer your credits to a master’s degree program.

SCHOLARSHIPS

All applicants for both 16- and 24-credit certificates are eligible for merit scholarships. Candidates will automatically be considered for scholarships when they are admitted to the certificate program. A separate application is not required.

GRADUATE PROGRAMS

What’s the difference between an MBA and a specialized master’s degree?

The primary distinction between an MBA and a specialized master’s degree is breadth versus depth. An MBA is an internationally recognized degree designed to develop the broad-based skills required for careers in business oversight

and management. Alternatively, a specialized master’s degree is designed to provide a deep dive into a specific discipline, such as accounting, business analytics, finance, management, marketing, or real estate and the built environment.

EXPLORE THE DIFFERENCE

MBA Programs at Daniels

We are pleased to offer four different MBA programs. Choose the one that’s right for you based on your professional profile and personal needs.

MBA PROGRAMS

Students who pursue an MBA often want to achieve a greater leadership position within an organization, or they may be in the process of switching careers. MBA students may also be interested in starting their own businesses. Earning an MBA can add both short- and long-term value to your career in the business sector and beyond. In addition to increased earning potential and career opportunities, the benefits of getting an MBA can be measured in less quantifiable ways, such as building a dynamic network, growing real-world skills, and focusing on leading with innovation and integrity.

SPECIALIZED MASTER’S

Students who pursue a specialized master’s degree often want to become an expert within a particular field. Candidates have diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience. They may have recently completed an undergraduate degree or they may have been in the workforce for a few years. Others are experienced, seasoned professionals looking to enhance their understanding of a specific discipline.

While there is a lot that can be learned individually, the most important lessons I’ve learned both personally and professionally have most often happened in the context of meaningful community. The opportunity to learn and grow with a local cohort was a characteristic of Daniels that really stood out.

Part-time Professional MBA

Designed for early- to mid-career professionals who want to continue to leverage their work experience while earning an immersive MBA, the Daniels Part-time Professional MBA (PMBA) program will prepare you to take the next step in your career. As a PMBA student, you’ll develop critical leadership skills, find clarity on your current career path, expand your opportunities and inject power into your networks as you navigate a rigorous curriculum with a tight-knit cohort of diverse professionals. Get ready to put your career into overdrive and make your mark on the world.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Experiential Learning

Prepare for the marketplace through hands-on experiences. You'll participate in a mountain leadership retreat and take an international business trip to broaden your global mindset.

Find Your Cohort

From the first day, you’ll build relationships with a tight-knit group of your peers, who come from diverse backgrounds and industries. As you take classes, solve problems and tackle challenges together, your cohort grows into a business network you’ll rely on throughout your career.

Connect Through Community

Daniels has deep ties to the Denver community, and our on-site classes ensure that you build new connections and a nucleus of support as you navigate the program. At Daniels, your peers, faculty, network of 40,000+ alumni, and our local, national and global corporate partners are invested in your success from your first day—and for the rest of your life.

Personal Growth

Be prepared to hone skills that will benefit you beyond the classroom. You’ll learn the theories and technical acumen necessary to make important strategic decisions, better manage team dynamics, pitch ideas, channel creativity, and challenge your worldview to become a stronger team member and an effective leader. The culmination is a capstone project, where you’ll serve as a consultant to a local nonprofit.

A Customizable Degree

Build the MBA that fits your needs with the ability to add a concentration to your degree without adding additional credit requirements or costs. Concentrations are available in accounting, business analytics, finance, marketing and real estate, or design your own with a custom concentration.

This 18-month program covers business fundamentals from a strategically oriented vantage point through a cross-functional curriculum that is highly integrated with experiential learning. You’ll emerge with a more integrated understanding of business, increased confidence and leadership effectiveness.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Faculty Mix

You’ll progress through your studies with a cohort of peers who offer diverse backgrounds and experiences that further enrich your education. In short, you’ll learn from your classmates in addition to your professors, and you’ll gain access to our deep alumni network, our faculty’s professional connections and our knowledgeable staff.

Break the Mold

We feature a uniquely differentiated curriculum that includes the fundamentals you’d expect in any MBA program. What you might not expect are experiences such as learning about building high-performing teams on a sailboat, the ability to tailor your degree via electives, and learning the strategies and skills you need to lead impactfully in a digital era.

EMBA faculty are more than teachers—they are real-world practitioners who will be your guides and facilitators during your academic journey. Our faculty come from a variety of backgrounds that include higher education, industry and various entrepreneurial ventures. The mix adds relevance and vibrancy to our collaborative classroom environment and enhances the student experience.

Experience More

You’re already out there in the real world, so why would we confine all your learning to a classroom? Our EMBA Team Sail Challenge, small-team Social Impact Projects, industry-leading guest speakers and an 11- to 14-day International Experience are just a few examples of how Daniels puts an executive slant on the conventional business curriculum.
