lowknight Brief To create album artwork for an electronic music artist. The client’s concept was to use the Levodopa diagram in the artwork and reflect the time when this drug was used on people in a catatonic state. He also wanted the artwork to have an abstract feel. A logo mark was also created to feature on the artwork.

Concept 1 The blue paired with the soft colours creates a relaxing tone for the nature of the music. The abstract format of the cloud creates a sense of curiousity to the viewer, and the layering adds more depth to the artwork. The Levodopa diagram is also included in the design in a subtle, soft way which is consistent with the rest of the theme.

Concept 2 The style is abstract to represent the unknown territory doctor’s experienced when using Levodopa. There is a trapped section of the design where a person can be seen. The face is hard to identify, and represents someone in a catatnnic state who isn’t the same person anymore. The Levodopa diagram is also in this section, to represent that the drug is used on these type of people and fit in with the cleints wants.

Concept 3 This was the clients choice. The image of being above the earth represents the unknown, and being only partially able to see beneath the clouds creates curiousity. Here, the Levodopa diagram and the artist title have been concealed partly with clouds to create an abstract aesthetic, represent the view that not all of the facts were known at the time of its use and reflect the clouds.
