“Passage to India” Lo, soul, seest thou not God’s purpose from the first? The earth to be spann’d, connected by network, The races, the neighbors, to marry and be given in marriage. The oceans to be cross’d, the distant brought near,

The lands to be welded together.

“… the new nation’s promise to its people. The future beckons to us. Whither do we go and what shall be our endeavor? To bring freedom and opportunity to the common man, to the peasants and workers of India; to fight and end poverty and ignorance and disease; to build up a prosperous, democratic, and progressive nation; and to create social, economic,

fullness of life to every man and woman.” August 15, 1947

Limited Access

•617 m for frontage

Preserve

• Location of ponds • Develop strategy to incorporate into community

Need to link SEZ to Project

Gateway Zone

• Create an identifiable community symbol or feature to announce arrival • Vertical elements above ground plane

Provide future connection to Nandigama

•Noise from By-Pass road

Gateway District

• Local serving gateway with smaller scale retail, entertainment, and employment • Create a diversified housing base for a multi-generational district • Provide gateway monumentation for contextual location • link with primary gateway

Gateway District

• Excellent opportunity for highly energized mixed use district • Initial phase of project to gain instant character and theme • Provide commercial and retail opportunities for surrounding region

Node

• Narrow point of the site • Create unique sense of place for site / plan convergence • Opportunity for community facility for quasi public space

Minor Gateway Zone

Community District

• Large unsegmented land mass to provide diversified district design • Opportunity to mix housing typologies that capture mulit-generational and socio-economic demand

Provide future connection

Solar Exposure

•Be conscious of orientation to promote sustainable design

Community District

• Large unsegmented land mass should be used for a highly themed district • Opportunities for high end home buyer as well as young families • Provide high level of design for community amenities and facilities • Incorporate “green / sustainable” design into district

Provide Catch Basins for Site
