culture I POPPED THE CHAMPAGNE cork to celebrate the Egyptian people's success in driving out of office the American puppet, Mubarak. However, as I wrote on February 1, Mubarak's departure doesn't guarantee that his successor will not find himself wearing the same American harness. been brought in line with the material interests of the Egyptian people. Marx and Lenin, believed that no revolution could succeed that did not destroy all representatives of the old order. The effective force in history, Marx and Lenin said, was violence. The Bolsheviks murdered every member of the Czar's family in order to obliterate any hope that the old order could be reinstated. How many revolutions have succeeded without violence? Even the American Revolution was violent, and not merely against King George. Colonists who thought of themselves as British and remained loyal to England were dispossessed and had to flee to Canada. Although not Marxists, the American revolutionaries were unforgiving. Perhaps what we have witnessed in Egypt is just the opening stage. If Egyptians find out that not

much has changed, they will erupt again in a more decisive manner, this time under focused leaders. If this revolution is put down, the next develop-
ment could be civil war, leading on to Celente's prediction of regional wars developing into the first "great war" of the 21st century. The elites are greatly outnumbered, and in every country the elites have monopolized resources and opportunities and possess more wealth and income than they know what to do with. http://www.opednews.com/populum/linkframe.php?link id=126917 The few armed with vast wealth are unlikely to prevail against the many armed with vast anger. Still, too much should not be given to Marx and Lenin. Material interests are important, but they are not all. There is good and evil in the human breast. People can change their mind. The Soviet Empire was not overthrown by a revolution. It collapsed because the ruling class, the communists themselves, changed their minds, acknowledged the wrongness of their system, and let go of it. Perhaps this will happen in Egypt and elsewhere. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts is the father of Reaganomics and the former head of policy at the Department of Treasury. He is a columnist and was previously the editor of the Wall Street Journal. His latest book, "How the Economy Was Lost: The War of the Worlds," details why America is disintegrating.
Family Constellation Work | By Jacob Steele and Christine McMaster, MA THERE IS AN OLD Yugoslav saying that goes something like this: "When the grandfathers eat sour grapes, the grandsons drink sour wine." Out of love for our parents we unconsciously take on their suffering, believing that doing so would actually relieve them. Though our intention is to give relief, this human tendency to want to sacrifice ensures the continuation of suffering from one generation to the next. According to Bert Hellinger, developer of Family Constellation Work, blessings are meant to flow from parent to child, not suffering. Family Constellation Work began in Germany some 30 years ago by renowned psychotherapist Bert Hellinger. Prior to developing this approach to family resolution, he worked intimately with the Zulu tribes of Africa. Hellinger observed what he understood to be a "group conscience". Within the framework of "group conscience", tribes remained in balance and harmony through the facilitation of the elders. Using principles of justice, love and respect, the natural flow of love in the tribal lineage is available to all. In this way each tribal mem-
It is so often true that the transformations we make in our own lives ripple out to the people we know and the world around us. ber lives an authentic life. In the West, our tribe is our family. Using these same principles, Hellinger developed an approach that resolves old family entanglements that are affecting gen-
erations today. In a family constellation workshop, each participant has the opportunity to affirm his or her "heart's desire". The ultimate question is: What is keeping one from creating it in his or her our own life? The answer can be found in the "family conscience". What we witness are the motives of love behind suffering. In witnessing such pure intent and the pain that has been caused from entanglement, we experience compassion and respect for our ancestors. We give them their dignity by accepting what is, as it is. We honour them by letting go of the need to fix anything for them. As a result, the power, joy and gifts hidden in our family lineage flow into our lives. From there we can make new choices and let go of the old ways. It is so often true that the transformations we make in our own lives ripple out to the people we know and the world around us. It is with our family "tribes" - our families of origin, our ancestors, our children - that so much of the positive change and healing our world so desperately needs, can begin to take place. The best way to understand family constellation work is to experience it personally. One opportunity to experience this work firsthand is the upcoming family constellation weekend in the Tapestry building on the UBC campus, March 25-27. The facilitator of the weekend is Claus Kostka, an internationally-renowned therapist who will be traveling to Vancouver from Germany. Creative Wandering: A Deeper Service REVERENTLY TENDING THE spaces between the worldly activities of our lives opens the door for the possibility of something unique and creative to enter the world. In the whirl of more obvious pursuits this seeming "non-activity" is overlooked or worse, not valued. With worldly life moving along at the speed of light, who has time to slow the pace long enough to realize the potential of emptiness?

A tale of Wander - I was feeling the creative stir that often comes just before beginning a new art project. I had no idea what I would do so I wandered the recycle center here on Whidbey Island, WA, searching for something that might inspire a new art piece. I use mostly found material in my work and finding an inspiring object can launch a creation in a completely unexpected direction. In my search I happened upon a large 8 x 4 ft. cedar sign with the words "ANIMAL CLINIC" carved deeply into the face. Seasoned old cedar is
excellent for carving and a one-piece slab this size was unusual to find. Trusting my initial impulse, I decided to bring the sign back to my studio. The sign sat for quite some time as I courted its possibilities. Finally, laying it face down I decided to cut three, six-foot figures out of the slab. I drew them in the most efficient way possible to get the most use out of the large slab without ever considering the positioning of the
The Sacred Marriage words carved on the back. I had cut out two of the figures and was just finishing the third when the phone rang. To my amazement, it was my first love from 30 years prior! She had read my book and saw the Parabola film made about my art and life and decided to look me up. After a lovely conversation I returned to the task of cutting out the last figure. I was deep in thought as I made the last cut, thinking about how impossible it is when we are young, not to lose ourselves in the overwhelming power of first love. I finished the cut, turned it over and situated per-
fectly, the full length of the figure was the word "ANIMA." Anima, is a Jungian term. It represents a man's inner feminine, which he unconsciously projects onto a woman when he loses himself in love -- I had just spoken on the phone with my first anima projection! I created an entire multi-leveled art piece out of this small poetic event by incorporating the ANIMA figure and another of the 3 cedar figures I cut out that day. The piece has three layers: Anima (a man's inner feminine,) Animus (a woman's inner masculine) and Union (the union of opposites.) I called the piece The Sacred Marriage. It is in the spaces between things where mystery resides, and tiny seeds of creative possibility can be discovered. Wandering through the day, noticing the small things, making resonant connections and gathering the shimmering gifts that come naturally, creates the basic substance of original creation. In relation to this formless activity, the strategic and reasonable attempt to control matter is a far grosser activity. By the time original creation takes form some part of it already existed in the DNA stirring in the space of creative possibility. One is naturally awed and humbled by the mystery of this process. The ego, with all of its efforts and strategies can never lay claim to the illuminating substance of original creation. What is inspired comes to us as an epiphany. It comes into form as if called into being by our collective hopes and dreams. Perhaps phrases like "An idea whose time has come" poetically alludes to the preexistence and inevitability of inspired creation. Those tending the fluid open spaces are able to reach in and pluck the seeds of possibility for the world at large. Although few of us would admit it, most of us follow the lead of inspired forms that came into existence through someone else's discovery. We follow for many reasons -- for material advantage or for the safety of being held by "tried and true," preexisting forms. Many of us, especially when young, intuit the vibrancy of inspired form and follow simply to be a part of something more alive. Those who want to succeed will further develop the ideas of the innovative wanderer.

continued.... Some follow sooner than others, which has some small advantage. Many follow unknowingly. To quote Lao Tsu, "When the work of the sage is done the people think they have done it themselves." The commitment of the proverbial sage is to the subtle promptings of formless space rather than to the form coveted by the world. Lao Tsu also says, "The spirit of the fountain is eternal." Having accessed the source one sees no scarcity, has no need to compete, and allows the changeable nature of water to flow on. For the creative wanderer, creating an intimacy with the source is the only real goal. They do not lay claim to the fruit. From this detached perspective, the great and timely idea - the one
moments inspired others beyond a sense of defeat. One cannot tap this greater resolve focusing on the appearance of things - not in joy or in suffering. A moment of Grace will be delivered, only when we inhabit the paradox and allow the deeper truth to be revealed in unexpected ways. Grace and suffering existing simultaneously is a most unreasonable paradox. It is the stuff of fairy tales. Yet, in our very DNA the paradox of hope in hopeless situations remains true. In spite of ourselves, we expect the reality of "happily ever after" to be the case and if it is not, we never quite believe the end of the story! The fact that there are
It is in the spaces between things where mystery resides, and tiny seeds of creative possibility can be discovered. Wandering through the day, noticing the small things, making resonant connections and gathering the shimmering gifts that come naturally, creates the basic substance of original creation. the world has been waiting for, already exists in the fluid imagination of the fountainhead. All cultural breakthroughs, movements, trends, fashions, products, or ideas that take hold, culturally, and move into the mainstream, come to us through the emptiness of space. They come through an individual's unique relationship with inner space. So the question becomes, how do we dialogue with inner space while existing in an external environment screaming with distraction? How do we hold this paradox? Perhaps by extracting our attention from the external shape of things and reverently holding the space, for formless possibility to manifest. This is not a passive activity. One's holy wandering must be able to withstand the external onslaught, even in difficult or dangerous situations or there would be no sustainable reality to the practice. And it is a Practice -- a spiritual practice that benefits, protects and furthers our humanity at al levels. Without the protection inherent in an inspired moment, there would be no heroes or redemptive myths. At such a moment in our universal mythology even death is not a defeat! If it were, unbridled aggression, bigger bombs and a kill-or-be-killed attitude would be the only game in town. Yet, this is not how the mythological story goes. Early in my life I read all of the personal stories I could find on life and death of those who suffered in the German concentration camps. I could not imagine a more extreme or difficult reality to have to endure, as a human being. I sought to find some deeper meaning in the stories - some seed of redemption. To my surprise, I found stories coming out of the darkest moments imaginable that were so beautiful, liberating and quietly victorious that they made the experience seem almost enviable! I found hope and a personal sense of liberation in the fact that a single, timely act had the potential to bring something into play that can only be described as miraculous. The grace in such moments seemed to create an unshakable experiential refuge. In many of the stories, the magic of the moment would liberate a person, physically, and in others it did not. In the deeper mythos of some of the stories I found, it seemed not to matter-- free was free, even in death. The inspired moment delivered a meaningful resolve and some final expression of innocent beauty over-rode the brutality and physical suffering. Such
people able to manifest this happy ending makes their legacy a gift and a responsibility we must make our own. Through the myths and stories that inspire hope, and most importantly through our own living example, this legacy may be the only real gift we have to leave future generations. CMC Composer, Tobin Stokes, a part of largest commission in Canadian history! CMC ASSOCIATE COMPOSER Tobin Stokes is part of what is believed to be the largest single commissioning grant in Canadian history. City Opera Vancouver's Board of Directors recently announced that the company has been awarded a commissioning grant of $250,000 US from the Annenberg Foundation, in connection with the philanthropic multimedia organization Explore. Tobin Stokes will write the score for this important and relevant opera based on Christian Ellis' story; a story that resonates to the emotional experiences of war in Iraq. Explore's Director and filmmaker Charles Annenberg Weingarten describes: "Christian paints a vivid picture of the harrowing realities he and his comrades faced in Iraq. He tells of his experiences with emotional honesty, and with deep compassion and understanding for the opposing side." Tobin Stokes will collaborate with librettist, Heather Raffo, a noted American-Iraqi playwright based in New York. The opera will also be created in consultation with Christian Ellis. Charles Barber, City Opera Vancouver's Artistic Director praises Tobin Stokes as a "versatile composer of opera, theatre music and dance who has always shown a gift for the human voice." Barber also expresses his support to the Canadian Music Centre stating that "The Canadian Music Centre is essential to the work of City Opera Vancouver. Thanks to the CMC, its staff and its extraordinary library, we have now been able to organize two major commissions. We spent dozens of hours at that library, reading scores by virtually every Canadian composer in opera. With everything under one roof, we were able to access the music of the finest working in Canada today." City Opera will mount a series of four workshops in Vancouver. The Canadian Music Centre BC Region will be the site of the opera's first readings in May 2011. Tobin Stokes is a prolific Canadian composer based on Canada's west coast. His interest and experience in various genres and formats has earned him credits in music for film and television, ballet, opera, orchestra, choirs, large events, chamber groups, and theatre.

Recent projects include recording his "Bits of Beauty" with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, and a film score for a BBC/CBC coproduction recently aired on "The Nature of Things". Current commissions include a 30-min work premiering this fall with the Victoria Symphony based on short stories by Emily Carr, a work for a choir in the Basque region of Spain, and original music for Mortal Coil Theatre's site-specific summer project in Steveston, BC. Stokes' first opera, "The Vinedressers", premiered at the Belfry Theatre in Victoria in 2001 as a full-length chamber opera. Based on Pelee Island in Ontario in the 1700's, the work featured both music and libretto by Stokes, and explored beauty, fate, and isolation. A second production of The Vinedressers at the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific in 2005 featured a new orchestration with sixteen instrumentalists. Tobin is comfortable working with the music of other cultures, most notably his large works for chorus, orchestra, and soloists that are based on First Nations themes, melodies, and stories. His second opera, "Nootka", uses Spanish, English, and First Nations texts and tells the history of the first European visitors and settlers on the west coast of what is now Vancouver Island. Featured as an oratorio at the International Choral Kathaumixw 2008, the piece utilized soloists from Canada, Sweden, and The Netherlands, with three choirs from France, Canada, and Taiwan, and a Taiwanese orchestra. Stokes has held residencies with the Victoria Symphony, the International Choral Kathaumixw, and the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific. He lives in Victoria, BC and works in Victoria and Vancouver. For more information about the CMC visit: www.musiccentre.ca For more information about the BC creative hub visit: www.bccreativehub.com The Canadian Music Centre (CMC) holds Canada's largest collection of Canadian concert music. science HAS COLD FUSION ARRIVED? by Author: Hank Mills with Sterling D. Allan
THERE ARE MANY ALTERNATIVE energy technologies being developed. Many of them are very well known - such as solar, geo-thermal, wind, hydroelectric, and bio-fuels. Others are not so well known - such as those that utilize magnetic interactions to gain energy, tap energy from electromagnetic waves all around us, manipulate electric circuits, or produce reactions between atoms that are not understood. Until recently, none of these technologies (mundane or exotic) seemed ready to make a major impact on the energy crisis our civilization is facing. But one technology is emerging that seems to have the potential to rapidly change how we produce and utilize energy. It has the potential to impact all aspects of our civilization. This is Andrea Rossi's Cold Fusion Energy Catalyzer technology. Andrea Rossi is an Italian inventor that claims to have produced the world's first commercial ready "cold fusion" or "LENR" (Low Energy Nuclear Reactions) reactor. Cold Fusion and LENR are terms used to describe nuclear fusion and other nuclear reactions at low temperatures. For 20 years or longer scientists have been producing nuclear reactions at low temperatures in small reactors that cost a fraction of what is used to produce "hot fusion." There have been thousands of successful cold fusion experiments in which nuclear reactions have occurred. But none of these experiments come close to the robustness of Rossi's device. Many cold fusion devices only worked intermittently or produced low levels of output. Andrea Rossi's device seems to work on demand and produces extremely high outputs. As an example, in a recent experiment over an 18 hour period with an average input of 80 watts it produced at least 15 kilowatts continuous, and sometimes as high as 20 kW. Another interesting aspect of Andrea Rossi's technology is the materials it uses. Some cold fusion experiments have used expensive materials. For example, instead of ordinary hydrogen, deuterium has been used. Also, more expensive metals such as palladium and platinum have been utilized. Rossi's device simply uses ordinary nickel powder (but in nano-sized particles), ordinary hydrogen, and undisclosed (due to proprietary reasons) catalysts that are claimed to be inexpensive. The device is also claimed to use very little of this nickel and hydrogen fuel. It is claimed that one gram of nickel powder in the device can produce as much energy as 500 barrels of oil. At 100 dollars a barrel 500 barrels of oil would cost 50,000 dollars. I have seen 150 grams of nano nickel powder on EBay for $150. In bulk I'm sure it would be even cheaper. Also, it is claimed it uses even less hydrogen than it does nickel. Basically, the fuel for this system is almost free.
The Laws of Thermodynamics are Obeyed Please note that no one is claiming this device produces "free energy." The reason the fuel for this system is almost free is that nickel and hydrogen are cheap and that huge amounts of energy are released from nuclear reactions. A nuclear reaction can release a million times the energy of a chemical one. More Positive Aspects There are even more positive aspects of this technology. It is claimed that even though nuclear fusion occurs in the device there is no radioactive waste. Rossi has stated that no residual radiation is detected just minutes after turning off the reactor and opening it. Perhaps what makes this technology seem even more amazing is the potential power density. Rossi has been working exclusively with a reactor that has a volume of one liter. Even at a very low power level it can output 15KW of constant thermal energy with very little electrical input. However, during a recent experiment for a period of time the reactor was producing 130KW of thermal energy. There are 1000 cubic centimeters in a liter. That would mean the power density was 130 watts per cubic centimeter. If you could scale up the size of the reactor and maintain that power density a device that could fit inside of your closet could produce megawatts of thermal energy. Basically, if this technology works as it is claimed to, and as recent testing by outside scientists indicates, it is a game-changing technology. It is revolutionary in the highest sense of that word Never before has there been a technology that could instantly address such a huge problem. The solution for the energy crisis could be here -- cheap, simple, and non-polluting. Global Uses of Cold Fusion What would this mean to the world? Well, it could potentially solve lots of problems and open up many new possibilities. First of all, the energy crisis (once enough of these reactors were built and utilized) would be over. Energy would be cheap and clean. We would
never run out of fuel. The fuels would be found everywhere so no nation would have an advantage over another. Over a period of time we could phase out fossil fuels all together. Oil could be saved to be used to produce fertilizer, pharmaceuticals, and plastics instead of being burnt. Secondly, our environment could get a boost. Greenhouse gas emissions could go down significantly. Also, with less exhaust coming from power plants there would be a higher air quality in many areas. If we can get this technology into the poor areas of the world perhaps it could help prevent deforestation. With an unlimited source of energy, water desalinization would become much cheaper. Instead of using freshwater reserves for irrigation and industrial purposes, sea water could be used. Third, there are many industries that could benefit from a source of cheap energy. For example, the recycling industry uses a huge amount of energy. If energy was "free" these industries could expand. Perhaps landfills could be dug up and the metals recycled. This would reduce the amount of land needed for mining. SCIFI becomes reality There are also some exotic possibilities with cold fusion. For example, it sounds like a good power source for a Mars rover, a lunar outpost, or a space craft. Perhaps the energy from cold fusion could be harnessed for propulsion. If this is the case perhaps space travel could become more practical. [Editor's note: Most of the "UFO" craft flying around are probably of human origin, so obviously some subset of humans, probably black-op, have already figured it out and are keeping it from the rest of us. Cold fusion and other such breakthroughs could help us play catch up.] This technology could also spark a new scientific age. If Cold Fusion turns out to be a reality then what else might turn out to be possible? Cold Fusion has been demonized by overly cynical skeptics for years. These same skeptics have been bashing other topics too. A few of these are the possibility of faster
All the evidence so far is making it clear that Earth is probably not a special place, but a very ordinary one. The future could turn out to be a more technologically savvy place than the Federation of "Star Trek." We just have to get there.
The Agora | 7
continued.... than light travel, superluminal communications, "free" energy from magnetic interactions, and other exotic energy technologies. To mainstream scientists, thinking cold fusion is real is almost as bad as believing in the Easter Bunny. If Cold Fusion turns out to be real then almost anything is possible! It could open the minds of a whole new generation, who wonder "What else that we've been told by scientists is 'impossible,' might also actually be possible after all?". Remember the quote, "Science progresses one funeral at a time." This is the idea that due to excessive skepticism new ideas and possibilities are not allowed into "mainstream" science until an older generation dies off. I hope that with this new technology enough minds might be opened, so that science can progress decades before the present, controlling generation is in the grave. How can this technology help us in the near term? It is fun to think about the long term potential of this technology. If humans use this tool appropriately it could allow us to produce a near utopia. However, we are in a situation where we need immediate answers to avoid a collapse of our civilization. To start with, the global economy is in horrible shape. Almost all of the nations of the world are in bad financial shape. Part of this is due to higher oil prices. In addition, we are due for a "black swan" event. Sooner or later an asteroid is going to hit, a solar flare will damage our electrical grid, or a hurricane will hit oil producing regions of the Gulf of Mexico. Also, we have a growing population that is demanding more and more resources. The industrialization of Asia is increasing the price of many goods, increasing oil demand, bringing an end to cheap labor, and making food more expensive. How can this technology help solve these issues? One good thing about this technology is that it seems very simple. It is likely they could be mass produced quickly using ordinary parts and materials. Right now there are thousands of conventional fossil fuel burning and conventional nuclear power plants producing electricity and an infrastructure that distributes it. These plants produce electricity by making steam and spinning a turbine with it. Why not just drop in cold
The Agora | 8
fusion devices into these power plants to produce the steam? Pre-existing generators and distribution networks could do everything else. This way cold fusion technology could start making an impact on the energy crisis very quickly. It will take time to get cold fusion devices into every home. However, it seems very possible that before too long individual homes could have cold fusion devices at a minimum producing hot water but also powering generators. If a black swan event did occur that threatened the power grid (look up the Carrington Event if you are interested in learning of a potential threat), perhaps homes and communities could be self sufficient in terms of electricity. If nothing else, critical aspects of our nation's infrastructure could start being powered by cold fusion. For example, communication networks, hospitals, emergency response centers, etc. When it comes to increased oil demand part of this is due to billions of Asians starting to drive cars. Perhaps these new vehicles could be the first to be directly powered by cold fusion devices. Or there could be an immediate switch to electric vehicles. These electric vehicles could use electricity distributed by the grid produced by cold fusion. Perhaps the next billion vehicles made might not use fossil fuels. An unlimited, cheap, and clean supply of energy could also bring down the cost of food and other goods. Right now a huge amount of energy goes into producing the raw materials, manufacturing, and transporting every item we purchase. If most of the energy cost was taken out of the equation all of these goods might be cheaper. Also, when it comes to food production, cold fusion would allow cheap desalinization plants that could allow countries with little fresh water to produce their own crops. Eventually, farmers might be able to have tractors and other devices that do not run on fossil fuels. Perhaps hunger might be a rare thing years from now. The Future is Full of Hope The most important aspect of this cold fusion technology in my opinion is that it gives us hope for a better future. Right now, the next few months look
bleak and the next few years look terrifying. There are going to be billions of new mouths to feed, an economic collapse to avoid, and many challenges to overcome. Cold Fusion could give us a tool that could allow the human species to survive and one day travel the stars. My long term dream has always been to travel in space one day, meet members of other civilizations, and learn about the universe. For this to happen (unless disclosure on the UFO topic happens immediately) civilization needs to last long enough for antiaging breakthroughs to occur that can extend my lifespan to hundreds of years. Right now scientists are learning a great deal about the core mechanisms of the human aging process such as telomere shortening, mitochondrial DNA deletions, advanced glycation end product accumulation, and other mechanisms that cause humans to age. There are drugs in clinical trails right now that could potentially extend the human lifespan. I want to be able to take them. That will not happen if civilization does not continue. If Cold Fusion can allow humanity to continue it is possible with the current rate of scientific advancement (and the acceleration that would occur due to the existence of cold fusion) the world in 20 years could be very different than it is today. I dream of a world in which... The energy crisis is a thing of the past. There is less human suffering, hunger, and disease. The human aging process has been reversed. We can control all aspects of nature from inertia, gravity, space, etc. We have made contact with other civilizations in our galaxy. Maybe you think I'm a little "out there." Well, the Kepler Space Telescope has discovered over a thousand candidate planets outside of our solar system. This has taken place by studying just a few months of almost two years of data. The conclusion so far is that out of every two stars in our galaxy one might have planets. Also, the data indicates that most planets in our galaxy are not gas giants, but smaller rocky worlds. All the evidence so far is making it clear that Earth is probably not a special place, but a very ordinary one. The future could turn out to be a more technologically savvy place than the Federation of "Star Trek." We just have to get there. Cold Fusion might be how.
Scientist Says Invention Is 'Greater Than Fire' |
by Jeane Manning and Joel Garbon, authors of Breakthrough Power
INVENTORS of revolutionary energy breakthroughs aren't necessarily Mad Scientists or mere garage tinkerers lacking academic credentials. The stereotypes are outdated. Take for example Dr. Randell Mills of Princeton, New Jersey. He has a medical degree from Harvard and studied electrical engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mills and his colleagues have had more than eighty peer-reviewed science papers published about his new chemical process which releases energy from hydrogen atoms without combustion and without any harmful radiation. How could that affect our future? It could mean powering all industries, homes and vehicles with a source of clean fuel so abundant that it falls from the sky - water. Mills' company BlackLight Power has recently negotiated multiple commercial agreements which license power companies to use the BlackLight process to make heat for generating electricity. Mills has a further invention that produces electricity directly. The company's tag line is "Greater Than Fire". The route that brought this doctor into the alternative energy field began in a different type of field - growing crops on his father's farm in Pennsylvania. Harvesting hay and corn from his own leased acreage while in high school taught young Randell Mills to be resourceful and undaunted by setbacks. He also observed that nature is rich and complex but also understandable, predictable, and unified. The six-foot-five energetic young farmer was making money and had no plans to go to college, despite having been considered the class genius in high school. However, his outlook on life abruptly changed when he fell into a glass door. The accident, and the six hours of surgery needed to repair his hand and arm, shook up his thinking. While hospitalized from loss of blood, and contemplating his mortality, he became determined to learn what he was doing on Earth - and how everything works. Mills had enough profits from farming to pay his tuition at a local college, and he graduated at the head of his class. Taking as a role model the surgeon who had saved his life, he went on to Harvard Medical School. His plan, however, was to develop new medical technologies rather than practice medicine. How did he leap from medical field inventing to the effort to save the world from the effects of polluting
fuels? Mathematics was the bridge; Mills developed his own unified physics theory. To test his theory's predictions, he experimented with ordinary water and a catalyst. Water is made of molecules, each binding an oxygen atom with two hydrogen atoms. His theory predicted that a hydrogen atom's electron orbit could be tightened, forming a smaller atom that he calls a "hydrino", with a consequent release of energy. His experiments validated this. Although Mills' theory is controversial, independent laboratories have replicated his findings. A Rowan University team found that his hydrogen-and-catalyst reaction produces far more heat than standard chemistry can account for. Other private laboratories have recently obtained similar results, calling their process "fractional hydrogen". Since the process releases about 200 times more energy than burning an equal amount of hydrogen gas, very little water is needed to provide the hydrogen. The company says only one-millionth of a liter of water per second is needed per kilowatt of electric power produced. The power density compares favorably to that of coal and nuclear fission, so the technology can be used for affordable heating, electricity generation, and powering vehicles. Byproducts of the BlackLight process include novel hydrogen compounds that have promise as useful new materials, perhaps preventing the need for destructive mining of various metals from the earth. Stable "hydrino" gas is also produced. Lighter than helium, it floats harmlessly up through the atmosphere if released. Direct-to-electricity is game-changing The company now has another approach, said to be more efficient and cost-effective than producing heat-for-steam. BlackLight's CIHT technology is a unique electrochemical cell that generates electricity directly from the reaction of hydrogen and a catalyst. Capital costs are projected to be only about two percent of the cost of building conventional coal-fired or natural gas-fired power plants, because fossil fuel power plants must burn fuel, boil water, and make steam that turns a turbine to produce electricity. CHIT process is much more streamlined in comparison. As with BlackLight's heat process, CIHT could allow efficient electrical generators to be built in a range
of sizes, from small appliance to large power plant scale. For vehicles, Mills pictures a concept long-distance electric car whose drivetrain would be powered by a clean onboard process without need for the expensive, bulky batteries and the added internal-combustion engine that are common in the current generation of electric vehicles. The financial weight and political power of the dominant energy industries discourage some energy innovators but haven't stopped Randell Mills. He doesn't report having suffered the physical harassment and threats that some inventors have endured. Opposition came instead in the form of public ridicule from the academic sector that relies on government grants. For instance, one physicist connected to the hot-fusion research establishment declared that science already knows everything about the hydrogen atom and that Mills' work was junk science. Mills didn't waste his time arguing with such critics; he stayed busy advancing his very real technology. A related obstacle when the company was applying for patents was more serious, because patent protection is crucial to winning investors. There was evidence of behind-the-scenes interference with Mills' patent application. Despite the interference, the inventive doctor found ways to raise funds for his energy research. Since Mills' mathematics solves equations for figuring out the physical structure of electrons in atoms and molecules, a subsidiary of BlackLight sells a separate product that doesn't threaten the energy establishment. Biological and industrial scientists buy that software product to map properties of various metals and chemicals. Meanwhile, BlackLight Power plans to continue licensing its thermal energy process, which will hopefully soon result in large-scale retrofits of existing polluting power plants, while creating new "green jobs" for specialists and workers in building clean energy plants that utilize "Greater Than Fire" technologies. Jeane Manning is a B.C. Author who researches outsidethe-box clean energy systems & what they mean for the people. Her books are published in 6 languages; latest is award-winning Breakthrough Power.

Carving the Whitewash in Stone: A Holocaust-Denying Museum for Canada |
WELL, HOW QUAINT, and so typically Canadian. It seems we're to have an "Indian residential schools museum" now, courtesy of the same people who have been whitewashing the whole crime for years. Canada's stage managed "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" (TRC) - those guys who are not allowed to record the tales of survivors if they actually name names or mention murders - announced yesterday that they're going to hold another glitzy event - this time in Vancouver in March, to plan the "Museum". If their most recent public extravaganza last June in Winnipeg is any indication, we're in for a bullshit session that will make even a church spin doctor cringe. This past week, I told the news to Darrell Little, a Nishga man who as a kid was tortured at a United
by Kevin D. Annett
who caused it and who should be held accountable for those murders, of course. A real Museum about the Canadian genocide is a good and necessary thing - one which I and a very few people have been publicly advocating for over a decade now - but let's be realistic. If we put the project in the hands of the very body whose mandate clearly forbids and prevents the full truth of the residential schools from being named, what kind of history will be depicted? According to its own mandate, the TRC "shall not hold formal hearings or conduct a legal process ‌ shall not possess subpoena powers ‌ shall not name names or record the names of alleged wrongdoers ‌ (and) shall make no findings regarding the misconduct
But if that's ever to become a reality in Canada, it will require that those of us who aren't controlled by church or state build our own museums, containing the full, uncensored story. Is that realistic? Not at all. Not in Canada. We have a neighbor here in Nanaimo who puts out poison capsules for all the wee mice who scurry about his house. He told me recently that his daughter found one of the little mice corpses, and their family all took the time to give the poor thing a burial in their backyard. We do seem to care more for our mice than our Indians. The mouse, at least, got a proper burial. But the lesson is clear: First you kill, then you do
"They gonna have little kids' dead bodies on display? 'Cause if they don't, it's all garbage."
Church residential school, and helped dig graves for children there. He lives on the streets of Vancouver now. When I mentioned the TRC Museum to him, Darrell smirked, and said, "They gonna have little kids' dead bodies on display? 'Cause if they don't, it's all garbage." This simple truth seems to elude the very "ab" original flunkies who with neo-colonial loyally serve as the front piece of the TRC: sanitized natives like Judge Murray Sinclair, who commented last June to a group of survivors who wanted to know where their fellow students are buried, "Only nut bars make requests like that." For that's the technique, you see: obstruct and silence the truth tellers, while co-opt their truth in a way that will absolve the criminals and pacify the whole bloody matter. Canadians, and their British Imperial tutors, have always been masters of this art. This enormous doublethink is so internalized in our culture that most of us act it out automatically - especially when it comes to all those little Indians we killed. The truth is, the Big Lie still works, surprisingly well. And Canadian church and state have been in dire need of it these past three years, ever since massive pressure from below forced the Harper government to concede that lots of children died in the residential schools - without mentioning

of any person or regarding the possible criminal or civil liability of any person or organization." (TRC Mandate, Section Two, (b) to (h), www.trc.ca ) How, then, will a TRC-sponsored "residential schools Museum" do anything more than perpetuate such a clear and obvious cover-up? I can imagine the kind of "official" and sanitized view of Canadian history that we'll be subjected to in a TRC Museum: the sort of general, bland commentary you find in our high school history books, which describe the "peaceful re-settlement" of Indians onto reserves, or laughingly depict residential schools as "an attempt to bring education to the Indians." Isn't it time we stopped this self-deceiving and criminal nonsense and came clean about ourselves, Canada? Nobody will make us do so, of course. Winners of a war are absolved from accountability, and other nations will never put us on trial, any more they will a child-raping Vatican. Only we can do the unimaginable, and publicly display the grisly evidence of our genocide, and say who is responsible, and bring those people and institutions to justice. Justice? What does it mean? I think ultimately it comes down to being different than who we have been. It means not stealing and ruining the land anymore, or raping one another, or standing by while truth and the innocent are slaughtered right around the corner.

OBAMA & HARPER CREATE WORLD'S FIRST SUPERSTATE WITH US-CANADA MERGER | by Sorcha Faal WhatDoesItMean.com
IN A SHOCKING COUP d'ĂŠtat said to rival Nazi Germany's 1938 Anschluss (German for "link-up") of the Austrian Republic, the United States this past week effectively took control of Canada creating what is being called by Russian diplomatic officials as the world's first 21st Century "Superstate". The United States announcement of this "merger" between these two North American Nations was made February 4th by a posting on the WhiteHouse.Gov website of President Obama and which, in part, says: "Today, President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Stephen Harper have directed the creation of a United States-Canada Regulatory Cooperation Council (RCC), composed of senior regulatory, trade, and foreign affairs officials from both governments. In recognition of our $1 trillion annual trade and investment relationship, the RCC has a two-year mandate to work together to promote economic growth, job creation, and benefits to our consumers and businesses through increased regulatory transparency and coordination. They have directed that the first meeting of the RCC be convened within 90 days by the relevant agencies in the United States and Canada." Concealed in the "diplo-speak" wording of this historic agreement, however, is the complete overturning of the sovereignty of both the American and Canadian peoples laws and regulations they have lived under for centuries, but which will now be "melded" together with no votes allowed by either of them ever again. The shock and uproar in Canada over their Prime Minister's, Steven Harper [photo 2nd left with Obama], signing away their sovereignty to the United States is unprecedented, but the same cannot be said of the American people who, according to Canada's National Post, have not been allowed to know about it, and as we can read from their article titled "The security perimeter imaginarium of Dr. Harper", and which, in part, says: "The New York Times didn't mention the Harper-Obama agreement (though it did quote some remarks the Prime Minister made about Egypt). There was a story inside the Wall Street Journal, but if any other U.S. media reported on the meeting and press conference, I can't find it. There is no hint that the US Congress is interested either." Equally as shocking were the Canadian government's deliberate actions to keep this merger secret
from their own citizens, and as we can read as reported by the Toronto Star News Service in their article titled "Canada kept U.S. border talks under wraps" and which, in part, says: "The federal government deliberately kept negotiations on a border deal with Washington secret while it planned ways to massage public opinion in favour of the pact, according to a confidential communications strategy. The 14-page public relations document recommended that talks keep a "low public profile" in the months leading up to the announcement by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and U.S. President Barack Obama. At the same time, the government would secretly engage "stakeholders" - interested parties such as big business groups and others - in a way that respected "the confidentiality of the announcement." In advance, the government departments involved - including industry, foreign affairs, international trade and citizenship and immigration - were to "align supportive stakeholders to speak positively about the announcement," according to the strategy prepared by Public Safety Minister Vic Toews' officials." One of the "supportive stakeholders" in the merger of Canada with the US is called the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE), who in their statement supporting it said, "This is the kind of government action that we in the business community have been seeking for years". Canada's Pacific Free Press, however, has slammed this merger for what it really is, a capitalist corporate takeover of both the United States and Canada, and as we can read as reported in their article titled "New Harper/Obama Border Deal about Corporate Power - Not Security and Trade": "The Corporations behind this deal own the politicians who signed it, and the media that are telling us 'how good it is'. The CCCE is the secretive umbrella group that represents Corporate Canada. The CCCE is the banks, big oil, the drug companies and manufacturers and retailers and all the rest; the people and corporations who own our country. Many believe they ARE the government of Canada. They are the ones behind this deal. Also in the Border Deal: A new 'Council' will 'harmonize' regulations between Canada and the United States (google: Regulatory Cooperation Council): The
Corporations want ONE SET of business-friendly rules for Canada and the United States, they want control of the rules and regulations that govern us, and that is what this deal is largely about. Where is the Corporate Media? Where is the CBC? All silent - under Corporate orders. Where are the Unions? The Environmental Groups? The Council of Canadians? The Social Groups.? The other Political Parties? We are allowed to hear nothing from them either. This powerful new agreement will further undermine our democracy, it is all about Corporate Power and Wealth. Here in Victoria BC, our main Corporate radio station, CFAX, tells us the new border deal will be good for security and trade and nothing to worry about. That is just Corporate Propaganda, but only that one message is put out. The border deal will 'protect us' from terror. That's how it's being 'sold', but in fact we are getting in bed with the number one terrorist nation in the world today, the United States of America; a nation that is also bankrupt and may be nearing social upheaval. Even worse, this deal gives more power to Corporations which have neither heart nor soul and who will happily see us ruined if it means increased Profit for them; we know this because it is what they do everywhere in the world. Why is Stephen Harper signing us into secret deals with these lunatics? The new agreement will make it easier to cross the border. This is the other selling point for the deal, but of course the 'tightening' of the Canada/US border was done to give us 'a problem' that they are now going to solve with a new border around us - which was the Corporate Plan all along. These are the kinds of games these lunatics play." The great British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) once said, "Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.", and which, sadly, appears to be the case with this historic merger between the US and Canada as those who know and care won't be heard, but those who do will reign in tyranny over those who live their lives in ignorance. And yes it is true, and worth repeating, "These are the kinds of games these lunatics play."The state of health freedom in

Interview with Dr. Neils Harrit |
interview
by Kevin Kelso
Kevin Kelso: I'd like to ask you about the specifics of your findings when you looked at the dust from the debris from the world trade centers. What did you find there and how sure can we be sure that it's active thermitic material and was used as an incendiary to destroy the buildings? Dr Niels Harrit: ‌It's a scientific paper. And a scientific paper is a set of a data and the best hypothesis you can come up for explaining the observations. And that's all. The important point is, there was some discussions which were on going about the review process. And this must have been, this must be the most reviewed paper in the history of natural science.
accept that, if they have a better explanation. Out there, there is somebody who knows exactly what the red grey chips really are. We don't know if it served as an incendiary or if it's part of an explosive device. We cannot tell. We know that it shouldn't be there, we know that it has a lot of energy, and we know most importantly, that elemental iron is formed when you find reactive chips and you ignite it. Kevin Kelso: So you actually found iron microspheres. Is that what you mean by elemental iron? Dr Niels Harrit: Oh yea, but this is not our finding at
which unambitiously implied the application of thermite. So our discovery must first of all, be seen in context, it's not a stand alone piece of forensic evidence. It should be seen in the context that professor Jones has very correctly described as the last nail in the coffin. Kevin Kelso: So maybe you could tell us a little bit more about the specifics of this dust. From what I understand the dust or the debris was pulverized into micro - nano scale particles which it shouldn't have been destroyed to that extent, and can you also tell me what causes a microsphere? An iron microsphere? Is that from a high energy event?
THE FOLLOWING EXCERPTS ARE FROM AN INTERVIEW I CONDUCTED ON FEB. 9TH, 2011. Dr. Niels Harrit is a retired associate chemistry professor at the University of Copenhagen. He is 3 months retired. His observations have proven to be quite profound, and should be of great interest to anyone that is serious about understanding the events of Sept. 11th 2001.
This is my feeling at least. Because millions of people must have read it by now. Nobody has really come up with a better hypothesis for the observations, specifically. So we become more and more confident in a sense, you can say, it is the review that we never got, which makes me very confident, that the conclusions that we suggest are correct‌ I could say that we do not know what the red grey chips are, really. We can describe their properties, we can say it looked like thermitic material, and it reacts. You say if it quacks like a duck, and it waddles like a duck, if it looks like a duck, probably it is a duck. But if somebody comes along to say that it's a GMO - a gene modified goat. We have to
all. They were already described in two reports: first by a private organization called the RJ Lee Group, and this first report came out in 2003, I think. And in 2004 as part of an insurance case at the Deutsche Bank. And they describe the content of 5.76% of the dust was these iron spheres. And in ordinary building dust, you'd only expect .04%. This is an abundance by a factor of 130 or 140 times more of the spheres. And it also comes up on a report from the US geological survey, a couple of years later, which Steven E Jones studied and already at that time it was crystal clear that thermite had been used. I can come up with a list of ten other observations, all prior to our investigation of the dust,
Dr Niels Harrit: No. The iron microspheres - the point is of course it's iron. And the other is that it is perfectly spherical, it is round. How can this particle get this shape? This can only happen if the material has been liquid and it has been flying. And it is a property of liquids, that whenever you have a droplet, a small droplet, if you have a mist or if you are talking about the fat curdles in your skim milk - when ever you have a drop of liquid flying it becomes spherical. The underlying phenomenon is called surface tension. This is a property of liquids. So these small iron spheres have been up and flying, and flying in the air. And the proof that has been done, again, Steven E Jones, he bought
The Agora | 13
some commercial thermite which you can buy, and he fired it off in the corner of the lab, and then you can collect exactly the same iron spheres as what had been found in the world trade center. Kevin Kelso: Now most people think, have theoririzied that it wasn't thermite but it was nano thermite or a military grade thermite that was, I think, patented by the US military and is only found on a US military base. Does that theory hold water for you? Dr Niels Harrit: Oh yes, the red grey chips, is a nano material. It is not conventional thermite, is not old time thermite, let me put it this way. And the thermite reaction is an old one, it was discovered in the 1890s by a German chemist, and patented very fast, because it's very useful for welding, but it is also very useful for destroying other steel items, in particular armor, and it has been applied in military applications for many, many years. But nano technology is different from 'old time techniques' in that the material is built from the bottom up. That is, you actually start on the atomic and molecular scale and are making use of what we call self assembly. You kind of fool the molecules to unite and form structures according to specific patterns. So you're getting mate-
Nano-thermite
Oh yes, the red grey chips, is a nano material. rials where, first of all, the dimensions are much smaller compared to when you make an ordinary mixture; and it's embedded in a matrix which makes the contact between the agents(?) much more efficient. [As for] the way of production, you have the option to add other chemicals. That is you have the ability to converge the thermite which originally was an incendiary, you can convert it into an explosive and use the energy of a thermite reaction in an explosive manner which is, which, means that it has to act by pressure. Explosives, destroy things by the aid of pressure, whereas an incendiary is using heat. But nano thermite is really something in between. What particularly makes me very thoughtful this was in the video that came out from David Chandler- he has made a series of brilliant videos - one in particular called "the South Tower Exploding. Smoking Guns." And there, you can see fragments coming out of the tower which are actually changing direction in mid-air. Or they're moving towards the ground faster than freefall, with a white smoke trail. And this could be [due to] our red-grey chips, actually, because the white trail is the other product of the thermite reaction, namely Aluminum Oxide. But the observation, that these fragments which have been thrown out from the towers, some of them weighing tons, being thrown 100 meters away, the gigantic forces involved in the destruction of the towers. They have rocket-like properties. So not even do we have to consider something which is both explosive and incendiary, but, it also has rocket properties which makes me believe that even the finding of the red grey chips is only a part of the story. There is more into it which we haven't discovered or seen yet. It's very possible‌ so the most certain thing that we can say about the red grey chips is that they shouldn't be there. Dr. Harrit's Feb. 24th lecture will be archived at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/voices-for-truth The rest of the above interview, which is definitely worth review, is archived on my website: Axiomatica.org.

feature When Good Industry Goes Bad: A Telecom Tragedy |
by Lindsey Pinto
Since we at OpenMedia.ca launched our Stop The Meter campaign, we've been hearing a lot of complaints about incumbent Internet service providers' poor quality of service and price gouging. These tales of frustration and heartache make me want to share my own Internet story‌ A few weeks ago, I finished my conversation with Telus' customer support, hung up the phone‌ and spent the next half hour staring dully at the floor. "They must know what I've written about Big Telecom," I thought. "They want to screw me." I had the same thought last week as I cancelled my service with a Telus reseller, and again later as I unsuccessfully tried to return my Bell wireless stick. But as much as I'd like to think that my role as OpenMedia.ca's communications manger has led to my name on a Big Telecom blacklist, I know that's not the case. After all, it's not just me who's having these problems. The Beginning: Bureaucracy Hurts When I first needed to set my new apartment up with an Internet connection, I tried my best to avoid Shaw - having written about their low bandwidth caps (now eliminated), high prices, and general ominousness, it seemed hypocritical of me to start giving them money. Telus has no strictly enforced usage-based billing, so I called them and set up an account. Dealing with Telus wasn't exactly a walk in the park. I never did get Internet from them, and I started to dislike the sound of my own complaining voice. In a better world, competition would promote innovation, and incentivize companies to keep prices low, while striving to improve the quality of products and services. The telecom industry, however, is structured so that customers don't have many options - in Western Canada, avoiding Shaw means using Telus in some capacity. After what seemed like a lifetime of daily calls to customer service, I finally cancelled my Telus service and

switched to an independent ISP, Leopard Networks, which operates as a Telus reseller. This seemed like a great move, and was probably something I should have done in the first place. Leopard's customer service was great, and they devoted 50% of their profits to help send people to postsecondary schools. But my Telus problems hadn't gone away just yet. Canada's Oligopoly For those of you who don't know, companies that operated as monopolies (within their regions) initially dominated Canada's telecommunications industry. In the 1990s, the CRTC determined that citizens would greatly benefit from sustainable competition, and established regulatory frameworks that required the monopolies to make their infrastructure available to competitors. About twenty years after that fateful CRTC ruling, a tech from Telus, sent by Teksavvy, stood in my building's electrical room and told me I would be better served by switching back to the large incumbent. He would have put more work into getting my connection up and running, but he was, of course, obligated to act only in the interests of his employer. It had at that point been a few weeks since I had a home Internet connection, and given the nature of my job, it was urgent. I spent nearly $300 for thirty days use of a Bell wireless stick‌ that of course didn't work on my computer. The days passed, and I was eventually told that I would simply never have a DSL Internet connection in
"The problem happens," said open Internet advocate Tim Wu, "when the monopolist has been in power for too long and loses their interest in innovation, and thinks it's easier instead to simply suppress their competitors." By the end of the month, I had spent a total of about $620 on four ISPs simply trying to get Internet access at my Vancouver home. Despite my efforts, I ended up the customer of a corporation with practices I vocally oppose, simply because I didn't know where else to turn. True, Shaw did today announce a moratorium and public consultation of their Internet metering practices, but it was due largely to the public relations disaster of half-a-million Canadians who protested overage fees, and not the company's sudden benevolence. There are many deep structural problems with Canada's telecommunications system - vertical integration, homogeneity, and a CRTC that almost exclusively consists of former Big Telecom executives, to name a few - but one issue is now in my crosshairs: the serious lack of diversity. Canada has one of the most concentrated telecom sectors in the developed world; it is no coincidence that Canadians also face some of the highest prices for Internet access and lowest service standards. The threat of Internet metering (usage-based billing) is but one of many possible consequences of this. An open and affordable Internet is key to rich democratic and cultural discourse, and to the future of innovation in Canada. Diversity in the telecom sector helps to advance and protect this ideal, and so Canadian policymakers must turn their focus to promoting diverse ownership models. This is clearly not what has been happening. A chill goes down my spine as I prepare to submit this piece from my kitchen, by way of Shaw cable Internet. Reasons Food Shortages Will Become a Global Crisis Russia are dropping the dollar as their trade vehicle, the dollar will continue to weaken, further driving all commodity prices higher. 4. Regulatory Crackdown: Even before the FDA was given broad new powers to regulate food in the recent Food Safety Modernization Act, small farms were being raided and regulated out of business. Now, the new food bill essentially puts food safety under the direction of the Department of Homeland Security where the food cartel uses the government to further consolidate their control over the industry. Militant police action is taken against farmers suspected of falling short on quality regulations. It is the power to intimidate innocent small farmers out of the business.
FOOD INFLATION IS HERE AND IT'S HERE TO STAY. We can see it getting worse every time we buy groceries. Basic food commodities like wheat, corn, soybeans, and rice have been skyrocketing since July, 2010 to record highs. These sustained price increases are only expected to continue as food production shortfalls really begin to take their toll this year and beyond. This summer Russia banned exports of wheat to ensure their nation's supply, which sparked complaints of protectionism. The U.S. agriculture community is already talking about rationing corn over ethanol mandates versus supply concerns. We've seen nothing yet in terms of food protectionism. Global food shortages have forced emergency meetings at the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization where they claim "urgent action" is needed. They point to extreme weather as the main contributing factor to the growing food shortages. However, commodity speculation has also been targeted as one of the culprits. It seems that the crisis would also present the perfect opportunity and the justification for the large GMO food companies to force their products into skeptical markets like in Europe and Japan, as recently leaked cables suggest. One thing is for sure; food shortages will likely continue to get worse and eventually become a full-scale global food crisis. Here are seven reasons why food shortages are here to stay on a worldwide scale: 1. Extreme Weather: Extreme weather has been a major problem for global food; from summer droughts and heat waves that devastated Russia's wheat crop to the ongoing catastrophes from 'biblical flooding' in Australia and Pakistan. And it doesn't end there. An extreme winter cold snap and snow has struck the whole of Europe and the United States. Staple crops are failing in all of these regions making an already fragile harvest in 2010 even more critical into 2011. Based on the recent past, extreme weather conditions are only likely to continue and perhaps worsen in the coming years. 2. Bee Colony Collapse: The Guardian reported this week on the USDA's study on bee colony decline in the United States: "The abundance of four common species of bumblebee in the US has dropped by 96% in just the past few decades." It is generally understood that bees pollinate around 90% of the world's commercial crops. Obviously, if these numbers are remotely close to accurate, then our natural food supply is in serious trouble. Luckily for us, the GMO giants have seeds that don't require open pollination to bear fruit. 3. Collapsing Dollar: Commodity speculation has resulted in massive food inflation that is already creating crisis levels in poor regions in the world. Food commodity prices have soared to record highs mainly because they trade in the ever-weakening dollar. Traders will point to the circumstances described in this article to justify their gambles, but also that food represents a tangible investment in an era of worthless paper. Because the debt problems in the United States are only getting worse, and nations such as China and

5. Rising oil prices: In 2008, record oil prices that topped $147 per barrel drove food prices to new highs. Rice tripled in 6 months during the surge of oil prices, along with other food commodities. The price of oil affects food on multiple levels; from plowing fields, fertilizers and pesticides, to harvesting and hauling. Flash forward to 2011: many experts are predicting that oil may reach upwards of $150-$200 per barrel in the months ahead. As oil closed out 2010 at its 2-year highs of $95/bbl, it is likely on pace to continue climbing. Again, a weakening dollar will also play its part in driving oil prices, and consequently, food prices to crisis levels. 6. Increased Soil Pollution: Geo-engineering has been taking place on a grand scale in the United States for decades now. Previously known in conspiracy circles as 'chemtrailing,' the government has now admitted to these experiments claiming they are plan "B" to combat global warming. The patents involved in this spraying are heavy in aluminum. This mass aluminum contamination is killing plants and trees and making the soil sterile to most crops. In an astonishing coincidence, GMO companies have patented aluminum-resistant seeds to save the day. 7. GMO Giants: Because of growing awareness of the health affects of GM foods, several countries have rejected planting them. Therefore, they would seem to need a food crisis to be seen as the savior in countries currently opposed to their products. A leaked WikiLeaks cable confirms that this is indeed the strategy for GMO giants, where trade secretaries reportedly "noted that commodity price hikes might spur greater liberalization on biotech imports." Since GMO giants already control much of the food supply, it seems they can also easily manipulate prices to achieve complete global control of food. The equation is actually quite simple: food is a relatively inelastic commodity in terms of demand. In other words, people need to eat no matter how bad the economy gets. Thus, demand can be basically measured by the size of the population. Therefore, as demand remains steady while the 7 supply pressures outlined above continue to worsen, food prices will have only one place to go -- up, up, and up. As international agencies scramble to find "solutions," their energy may be just as well spent on questioning if this famine scenario is being purposely manipulated for profits. Regardless, the average person would be very wise to stock
up on food staples as an investment, and frankly to survive the worsening food crisis. Recently there has been an incredible flurry of news reporting about food shortages and the pending global food crisis. Everyone who looks at the indica-
of production, while livestock production is running at full concentration-camp capacity; the end product must then travel thousands of miles to get to store shelves. Clearly we can see the fragile nature of this system, especially on human health and the environment. Consequently, solving the so-called "food cri-

tors would agree that this crisis is only likely to worsen. It is estimated that the Australia floods alone could cause a 30% jump in food prices. Although the average shopper already can feel the food inflation, it is difficult to recognize the severity of the looming food shortages. After all, there are still 15 types of colorfully-boxed Cheerios packing the isles, which gives us the illusion of abundance. The truth is that we are headed for large food production shortfalls, manipulated or not, while middleclass food demand grows massively in the developing world. For decades the world's agriculture community produced more than enough food to feed the planet, yet some now believe we are reaching "Peak Food" production levels. In turn, other experts believe the "food bubble" is about to burst, and not even the biotech companies can save us. However, there are still vast unused stretches of fertile land that can be used around the globe, and the U.S. ethanol mandates that reportedly consume at least 25% of the corn harvest could be reduced to ease the burden. Therefore, it seems that despite the extreme weather and dwindling harvests, food production still has room to increase, but not without foresight and planning. Additionally, the current systems for growing food are fully dependent on oil to achieve high levels
sis" is far more complex than simply fixing statistical supply and demand issues. Indeed, these are turbulent times where humanity appears to be nearing Peak Everything. Ultimately, solutions to the food crisis will begin at the local level. There are cutting-edge farming techniques gaining popularity that produce a large variety of crops by mimicking nature, as well as innovative techniques for small-scale food production at home or in urban buildings. These hold promise for easing local hunger. Personal ways to protect yourself from food shortages may seem obvious to some, but many
feel the task can be insurmountable. To the contrary, here are 5 simple ways to protect yourself from the coming food crisis: 1. Create a Food Bank: Everyone should have a back-up to the everyday food pantry. In this environment, you should consider your personal food bank far more valuable than a dollar savings account. Start by picking up extra canned goods, dried foods, and other essentials for storage each time you go to the store. Also, hunt for coupons and shop for deals when they come up. Devise a plan for FIFO (first in, first out) rotation for your food bank. It is advisable to acquire food-grade bins to store your bulk dried foods, and be sure to label and date everything.
Besides the obvious store-able foods like rice and beans, or canned goods, some other important items to hoard are salt, peanut butter, cooking oils, sugar, coffee, and powdered milk. If you don't believe the food crisis will be too severe, then buy items that you would eat on a normal daily basis. But if you believe the crisis will be sustained for some time, purchasing a grain mill to refine bulk wheat or corn may prove to be the most economical way to stretch your food bank. Some emergency MREs are also something to consider because they have a long shelf life. 2. Produce Your Own Food: Having some capacity to produce your own food will simply become a necessity as the food system crumbles. If you don't know much about gardening, then start small with a few garden boxes for tomatoes, herbs, or sprouting and keep expanding to the limits of your garden. And for goodness sakes, get some chickens. They are a

the fish tank is pumped through the vegetable growing trays which absorb the nutrients before returning clean water to the fish tank. Set high goals for independent food production, but start with what's manageable.

3. Learn Food Preservation: Food preservation comes in many forms such as canning, pickling, and dehydrating. In every case some tools and materials are required along with a good deal of knowledge. If you can afford a dehydrator , they all usually come with a preparation guide for most foods. You can also purchase a vacuum sealer if you have the means. A good vacuum sealer should come with thorough instructions and storage tips, and will add months if not years to many food items. If you're a beginner at canning, start with tomatoes first. It's easy and very valuable when all your tomatoes ripen at the same time and you want fresh pasta sauce in the winter. A bigger ticket item that is nice to have for food preservation is a DC solar powered chest freezer . It is the ultimate treasure chest. 4. Store Seeds: The government and the elite have seed banks and so should you. Seeds have been a viable currency in many civilizations past and present. They represent food when scarcity hits. Before the rise of commercial seed giants like Monsanto, local gardeners were adept at selecting seeds from the healthiest plants, saving them, and introducing them to the harvest for the following year, thus strengthening the species. Through local adaptation to pests, genetic diversity was further ensured; it was long-term thinking at its finest. That is why it is important to find heirloom seed banks and learn to save seeds from each harvest. 5. Join or Start a Local Co-Op: Joining local cooperatives is very important, especially when food shortages occur. You may not be able to provide for yourself completely, especially in terms of variety, so having a community mechanism to spread the burden and share the spoils will be critical. If you don't know if you have a local food cooperative in your area you can search the directory at LocalHarvest.org. You may also be able to get information from your local farmers market. If your area doesn't have a co-op, then start one. These co-ops don't have to be big or elaborate. In fact, it may be more optimal to organize it with friends, neighbors, or co-workers. Whether you join or start a cooperative, work to expand the participants and products.

health DISCLAIMER: THE INFORMATION PRESENTED HEREIN IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. CONSULT YOUR NATUROPATHIC PHYSICIAN, MEDICAL DOCTOR, AND/OR PHARMACIST FOR ANY HEALTH PROBLEM AND BEFORE USING ANY SUPPLEMENTS, MAKING DIETARY CHANGES, OR BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES IN PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS.
Dr. Dahl, firstly, I recently read your response to someone with cancer and I am wondering if you know anything about VHL, or Von Hippel-Lindau disease. It is a genetic condition that causes tumor and cyst formations. My question is this: if cancer thrives in an oxygen deprived body I wonder what it is that creates the malignant tumors in a body with an obviously ample supply of oxygen? Dr. Dahl, if you have any ideas that you may want to comment on regarding this, it's for my daughter in law who has survived grueling episodes with this disease, and maybe your input may further assist in prolonging her life with a illness that sees most with VHL succumb at an early age many not beyond 30 - 40 years of age. I am not suggesting you have 'the answer' to anything here -- just saying, you never know... Sincerely, Jesse C. Hello Jesse, I apologize for the necessary editing of your question due to space restrictions, but hope I can shed some light on your sister-in-law's condition here, nonetheless. VHL is a mysterious disease, with much confusion surrounding its treatment. You describe your sister in-law's diet and living conditions as extremely pure, along with the elimination of all red meat, but you do not say what she does for treatment - drugs or nutraceuticals? Battling this condition with diet and environmental changes may not be enough, but without more specific information, I can only base my response on what I have gleaned from your email.
Many studies point to the fact that cysts thrive in a sulfur-deprived environment, and their growth is accelerated by an elevated chlorine level, which blocks kidney function. With these possible connections in mind, it would appear the internal milieu of her body is out of balance, and without her blood work and chart I am unable to make these connections. Vital nutrients and enzymes may be missing, and even with supplementation, absorption maybe interrupted, unless one is taking these nutrients in their active form. Amino acids with a sulfur base would likely be beneficial: these are L-cysteine and L-methionine, along with the vitamin nutrients choline and inositol, to produce sulfur-rich intestinal bacteria; and perhaps a liver antioxidant and detoxifier should be included, to allow for peak efficiency. As red meat is not a part of her diet, the importance of L-methionine may be underlined, since it is not abundant in a vegetarian diet, where its primary source is legumes such as soybeans, and nuts and seeds. Botanical supplements can assist, and may prevent stagnation and cyst formation by clearing the lymphatic system of accumulated fluids or waste, and reducing the tissue formation of fibrocystic activity. Such botanicals such as poke root are good for this, and Pasco Therapy makes a great product called "Lymphdiaral", available from a naturopathic doctor. My suggestion would be to have her undergo a complete hormonal check up making sure she is not producing too much estrogen and with under the direction of a health practitioner, to follow some of the suggestions below. In the treatment of fibrocystic formation: In order to diminish fibrocystic formation, it is necessary to eliminate or greatly reduce caffeine from any source, including coffee, chocolate, black tea, energy drinks, etc. Also to be avoided is the consumption of commercial animal products and the hormones they contain. Eliminate
pharmaceutical estrogens wherever possible, if prescribed. And improve liver function by reducing exposure to any obvious hepatotoxins (including alcohol), and by taking the herbal supplement Milk Thistle, as well as choline, inositol, and methionine, which are "Lipotropic", meaning that they prevent the formation of excessive or abnormal fat in the liver. Nutritional therapies: Choline, inositol, ½ to one gram of each per day. Vitamin E. 400-800 IU per day. Hemp or Flax oil, 1 Tbsp daily, in lieu of animal fat, oil, butter, cheeses. B-complex and magnesium, helpful for liver detoxification. P5P complex for the immune system L-tyrosine, 2 grams twice per day Herbal Teas: Taraxacum officinale root (dandelion) Arctium lappa root (burdock) Rumex crispus root (yellow dock) Glycyrrhiza glabra root (licorice) Foeniculum vulgare seed (fennel) Herbal Tinctures: Combine equal parts of the following herbal tinctures. Rosmarinus officinale (rosemary) Phytolacca decandra root (poke) Smilax officinalis (sarsaparilla) Silybum marianum seed (milk thistle) Tell your sister-in-law to take this information to a naturopathic doctor, with whom she can work for optimum results. I hope the suggestions made here are helpful to her. To your very good health, Dr. Eldon G. Dahl ND

Unhealthy Brains and Teenage Violence |
by Dr. Sherri Tenpenny
It's been nearly a month since the nation's attention was focused on Tucson, where five were killed and 13 injured, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, several other shootings missed the mainstream news. Violence seems to be erupting among youths everywhere, from Los Angeles, to Omaha, to Brookly- indicating something is seriously going wrong in the minds of young persons in this country. Why Young Brains Are Sick The list of assailing particles on children is long, and starts with chemical exposure in the womb. In July, 2005, the Environmental Working Group released a hallmark study using cord blood to assess the chemical exposure of neonates in-utero. The placenta has long been thought to shield the developing baby from pollutants in the environment. The study's alarming results dispelled this as a wishful myth. Of the 287 chemicals identified in the umbilical cord blood of 10 infants, 180 were known carcinogens, 217 were toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 have been associated with birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests. The study concluded that, "the dangers of pre- or post-natal exposure to this complex mixture of carcinogens, developmental toxins and neurotoxins have never been studied." Within hours of emerging from the womb, a newborn is given a dollop of antibiotics in the eyes, injected with the hepatitis b vaccine, with known neurotoxic properties, and jabbed with a vitamin K shot, which contains 9 mg of benzyl alcohol. In 1992, Golding published concerns that vitamin K injections could be associated with a doubled risk of malignant disease in children, particularly leukemia. While there have been considerable doubts about whether the association is coincidental or causal, the controversy has never been completely resolved. Starting around the 60th day of life, infants with still immature immune systems are subjected to a battery of vaccines: DTaP, HiB, polio, Prevnar, and a squirt of oral rotavirus vaccine, all generally given at the same time. The onslaught of these shots, including two additional injections of hepatitis b vaccine, repeats twice, every 60 days. This deposits approximately 66 different viral or bacterial antigens and measurable amounts of a dozen different chemicals into a six month old infant. By the time a child is five years old, a little 40 pound human will receive up to 35 injections, containing at least 110 different weakened pathogens (or pathogen particles), and an assortment of 59 different chemicals. If all approved shots are administered, the little tot will also be injected with stray viral DNA, four types of animal cells, cells from aborted fetal tissue and a bit of human albumin (a foreign protein.) By the way, all of these substances are listed on package inserts for each vaccine. Subjective Labels for Brain Pathology According to the U.S. Surgeon General, nearly 20 percent of American children and adolescents suffer from a mental disorder so significant, it interferes with their day-to-day life. The plethora of diagnoses fall into a few fairly well defined categories: Conduct disorders, such as attentiondeficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); learning disabilities, a spectrum of speech delay and comprehension issues; and mood disorders, which include depression, bipolar disorder and chronic anxiety. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approximates that nearly 5.4 million children 4 to 17 years of age have been diagnosed with ADHD alone (2007 data). This represents nearly 1 in 10 of all children - and the number has been escalating. Between 2003 and 2007, the number of parent-reported children diagnosed with ADHD increased by 22 percent in the U.S. Disturbingly, in an attempt to quell their out-of-control behavior, more than two thirds of these children have been placed on at least one prescription medication. Since the underlying cause for the sick brain and hyperkinetic behavior has not been identified and addressed, the drugging is akin to tightening down the lid on a boiling pot of water. One of these behavioral disorders, called Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), is said to manifest around 8 years of age. Mannerisms include: easily losing

one's temper; aggressively arguing with adults and defying requests; refusing to follow rules; deliberately annoying other people; blaming others for one's own mistakes or misbehavior; and being touchy, easily annoyed or angered, resentful, spiteful, or vindictive. In 2008, ODD was the most common reason children were referred to mental health professionals for an assessment, accounting for at least half of all out patient visits to psychiatrists and psychiatric practitioners. These children, mostly boys, are commonly diagnosed and treated for several coexisting disorders. The fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) is about to be released in the U.S. and Canada, replacing the older DSM-IV. The DSM is a catalog of hundreds of psychiatric conditions, including a long list of anxiety, personality and adjustment disorders. Diagnoses are available to give children who struggle with math and writing skills (Mathematics Disorder 315.1 and Disorder of Written Expression 315.2, respectively) a diagnosis, labeling a child who has a missing skill with a mental deficiency. New disorders are on the horizon too, such as Temper Dysregulation Disorder with Dysphoria (TDD), a tweak to the current diagnosis of bipolar disorders for children under the age of 10. Treatments offered for malfunctioning, unhealthy brains include an extensive list of prescription medications, divided by class, based on the effect they are thought to have on the chemistry of the brain. Antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anti-psychotics and sedatives are prescribed to ostensibly correct imbalances in brain chemicals. If one drug doesn't work, more are added, perhaps with unintended consequences on behavior. A recent 69-month study identified 484 drugs that accounted for 780,169 serious adverse events, including violence and aggressive behavior. The drugs were associated with 387 reports of homicide, 404 physical assaults, 27 cases indicating physical abuse, 896 homicidal ideation reports, and 223 cases described as violence-related symptoms. Medications most strongly associated with violence were antidepressants, particularly the serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ex: Lexapro, Paxil, and Zoloft); sedative/ hypnotics (ex: Xanax and Clonipin) and drugs given for ADHD, including Ritalin and Concerta. Additionally, the anti-psychotics drugs, Seroquel, Zyprexa and Respirdol, commonly used to treat ODD, are among drugs that can lead to violence. Combined Effects Significant populations of children in the U.S. have been exposed to a combination of chemicals, vaccines and multiple prescription medications - from infancy through early adulthood. No studies have examined the effects these components have individually on brain function, let alone in combination. Mental health experts try to convince us that the chemical exposures are so small they cannot have negative effects. Same with vaccines. "Experts" espouse that vaccines are safe, effective, protective and harmless. No thought -- or research -- has been done to examine the potential problems that can arising from the combined effect of four or more simultaneous medications, vaccines and chemicals. There has been little effort by the government (FDA), the pharmaceutical industry or doctors -- all of whom profit handsomely from massive drug and vaccine use --- to evaluate the combined negative effects of these exposures. Brain inflammation has been the hallmark of severe reactions since the first vaccine -- smallpox. The pertussis vaccination can have profound effects on the developing brain of a child, leading to permanent changes in behavior, personality, intelligence, emotional stability, and physical ability. Virtually
every year--from 1933 to the mid-1980s-- a paper was published discussing the adverse effects of the whole cell pertussis vaccine. Instead of spending more money to create new drugs and vaccines, we should demand that industry and governments study the complications and injuries caused by the combined use of the products we already have. Violence In America I have received many emails and messages over the years from persons or parents who are planning to go to other countries for a vacation, on a mission trip or to participate in a lifestyle immersion event. While many of the questions are about travel vaccines (few of which are required anywhere in the world; they are only recommended), I also get asked, "Do you think it is safe to go there?" That question always makes me pause. I've had the good fortune to have traveled throughout 57 countries over the last 40-ish years of my life. Only on rare occasions- and mostly when I was in an ill-advised part of town or was unaccompanied in a rural area with wild animals I was unfamiliar with - did I ever feel unsafe. In fact, as a general rule, I have felt safer off the beaten path in a foreign country than in the downtown of an unknown, midsized city after dark anywhere in the U.S. An epidemic of chronic physical illness, mental disability, depression and violent behavior has become apparent over the last 20 years and in one way or another, is touching us all. Although economic and social factors, biological variables and individual dietary practices certainly play a role in overall health and behavior, the detrimental, combined effect of chemicals, drugs and vaccines applied to the brain from birth is a real concern and a contributor to the violence rising in America's youths. This is a connection that should not be discounted. Based on survey data from the U.S. Department of Justice, roughly 5,340,000 violent crimes were committed in the United States during 2008. This includes roughly 16,272 murders of which, 76 percent, or about 10,886 incidents, were committed with firearms. Since the Tucson shootings, calls for stricter licensing and gun registration, more vigorous background checks prior to purchasing a gun, and a ban on assault weapons are on the table. The pros and cons of this debate reach far beyond the scope of this discussion. But truly, guns don't shoot people. And something obviously makes people shoot people. Perhaps stopping the chain of events that caused young brains to become medically unhealthy and physically sick is the place to start. We owe it to future generations to clearly identify the effect these combined toxic compounds are having on brains of all ages. Even more importantly, we need to heal these damaged brains and restore them back to health before the epidemic of violence gets any worse. Dr. Sherri J. feature Fresh produce prices to double or triple following freak freezes - is Earth in a magnetic pole shift? |
by Mike Adams
In an article posted on January 3 of this year, I predicted a rise in food prices resulting from freak weather events. Here's what I said in that article: By the end of 2012, I predict significant food supply disruptions in North America, brought about either by radical weather affecting crop yields or perhaps the invasion of disease indirectly caused by the over-use of pesticides or GMOs. The number of people in America struggling to feed themselves and their families will rise along with food prices. ...Expect to see food prices climb with alarming speed over the next two years. While food won't disappear, it will become significantly more expensive, causing more people to shift to subsidized foods (corn, sugar, etc.) which also happen to be some of the worst foods for your health. Now there's news from Mexico that the fresh produce normally shipped to U.S. grocery stores has been largely destroyed by the freak cold weather snap that struck the continental United States over the past 10 days. As a result, prices on cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes and asparagus are set to double or triple starting right now. Even worse, it looks like the supply of many of these items will be completely wiped out. You won't be able to buy them, in other words, at any price! This is the fallout from the worst freeze event recorded in North America in 60 years. It has affected not just Northern Mexico, but also much of the U.S. Southwest. It also raises the question: Is the food supply further threatened by radical weather events? A theory of what's happening I'm not going to go into all the details here, but from what I've been reading and researching about a number of seemingly-unrelated events, some clues that might explain their commonality begin to emerge. It all seems to lead to the theory that this is all being caused by the weakening of the Earth's magnetic field. The magnetic field is shifting, you see. It's in the process of flipping, as it has done many times throughout Earth's history. As explained on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomag...): "The Earth's magnetic north pole is drifting from northern Canada towards Siberia with a presently accelerating rate -- 10 km per year at the beginning of the 20th century, up to 40 km per year in 2003, and since then has only accelerated."
(This theory, however, does not account for the unexplained deaths of fish.) The other side effect of this is the introduction of extremely cold temperatures from high altitude (or low orbit) space clouds that could be reaching into the lower atmosphere and spreading from the North Pole
causes extreme cold to break into Earth's lower atmosphere, which causes freak cold weather events to spread far and wide, which causes the destruction of food crops. Theoretically, this could even lead to a rapid ice age taking over the planet, almost like something
The magnetic field is shifting, you see. It's in the process of flipping, as it has done many times throughout Earth's history.
I recently wrote about how an airport in Tampa, Florida recently had to renumber its runways to account for the unexpectedly rapid shifts in the Earth's magnetic poles (http://www.naturalnews.com/030996_b...).
down through areas that would normally never see such low temperatures. This may explain the "freak weather" that's killing the produce and driving food prices through the roof.
That same story discusses the theory of how the weakening magnetosphere may have allowed high altitude sub-zero air carrying toxic space clouds called Noctilucent clouds to invade the lower atmosphere, causing the sudden death of birds that we've been seeing reported across the globe.
How Earth's magnetosphere impacts your dinner plate Of course, it's all just a theory so far, but here's the theory in a nutshell: Weakening Earth's magnetic field (which is what happens during the magnetic pole shift transition)
out of a Hollywood movie. Such a scenario would obviously be devastating to the human population across the planet as billions would starve from a lack of food. (That would no doubt fulfill Bill Gates' mission of reducing the world population, eh? Who needs vaccines when you've got sub-zero space clouds?) The Earth's magnetosphere, you see, is a vital protective force field that protects life on Earth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnet...). Without the mag-

The magnetosphere is believed to be generated by the Earth's core. As Wikipedia explains, "The internal field of the Earth (its "main field") appears to be generated in the Earth's core by a dynamo process, associated with the circulation of liquid metal in the core, driven by internal heat sources." We know from studying lava flows of basalt rock that the Earth's magnetic field has "flipped" many times in the past. Interestingly, a scientific study published in the journal Nature and entitled "New evidence for extraordinarily rapid change of the geomagnetic field during a reversal" reveals that the Earth's magnetic field has, in the past, shifted
by as much as six degrees in just 24 hours. (http://www.nature.com/nature/journa...) At that pace, the magnetic poles would be completely reversed in just 30 days. A magnetic flip isn't pretty This NASApage shows an interesting picture of what happens during a "magnetic flip" (http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/lo...). It explains: "Magnetic lines of force near Earth's surface become twisted and tangled, and magnetic poles pop up in unaccustomed places. A south magnetic pole might emerge over Africa, for instance, or a north pole over Tahiti. Weird. But it's still a planetary magnetic field, and it still protects us from space radiation and solar storms." This magnetic pole shift (or "magnetic flip") could allow extreme cold to abruptly enter the lower atmosphere, perhaps even reaching all the way down to the Earth's
surface. The magnetic field isn't "clean" and "smooth," you see. Here's an image of the current magnetic map of the planet: http://gravmag.ou.edu/mag_earth/mag... Notice how it has holes in it? It's not completely smooth and uniform as you might expect. In fact, magnetic "holes" can easily appear and then disappear anywhere on the planet as the flows of metal in the Earth's core shift around. These holes can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few decades, depending on what's happening in the planet's core. During short-lived magnetic turbulence, a particular region on the planet can "lose" its magnetic field (it's neither North nor South but neutral). This results in a magnetic "gap" that creates a vulnerability. The general consensus is that the greater danger here is exposure to cosmic radiation, but there is also the possibility that freezing cold space clouds may also be influenced by the magnetosphere (or the gaps therein). That may be some of what we just experienced over the last ten days, in fact: A taste of things yet to come if the magnetic field continues to churn and drift. Imagine a winter where even Mexico freezes, and many areas of Canada maintain temperatures of minus 50 Celsius... Again, this is just a theory of what could be happening. A hypothesis. I don't have any scientific proof that the magnetic pole shift is causing these freak cold weather events. But it's clearly an area deserving explo-
There's virtually nothing we can do about it. If the Earth's core wants to shift, it's going to shift, regardless of what you or I want it to do. ration. Because if the cold weather events get worse over the next few years, we could be looking at serious disruptions in the food supply, the climate and Earth's ecosystems. This isn't being caused by global warming, either. Unless you believe that global warming causes global cooling, of course. Instead, this is being caused by the movement of Earth's core. Therein lies the bad news: There's virtually nothing we can do about it. If the Earth's core wants to shift, it's going to shift, regardless of what you or I want it to do. If that's what's happening, get out your garden seeds and your cold weather greenhouses. It might be a good time to subscribe to your local CSA and support their farming efforts, too. You'll need to grow more food to help compensate for the global food failures likely to be brought on by increasingly radical weather. Get ready for some crazy summer monsoons in the months ahead, too. I predict we're going to see some cataclysmic flooding in Southeast Asia, followed by deadly droughts somewhere else on the planet. Radical weather has a way of reminding humankind that we're not so clever after all... and that we need the planet for our survival, but the planet can survive just fine without us around.

cover Joe Sacco,
American Original, Real Life Comic Super Hero! | In recognition of the recently passed Freedom to Read Week (Feb 20- 26) The Agora looks at the most recent work of freedom fighter journalist, Joe Sacco. In Marshall McCluhan's 1964 book Understanding Media, the author suggested the medium could be as powerfully impacting as the message itself "The medium is the message." The medium is indeed as powerful as the message when it comes to the incredible work of Joe Sacco. Political journalism with a twist, the subjects are not captured on video, or slick photos, they're rendered in comic form. Joe Sacco, like the best of journalists, goes deep into the story, meeting the people, living their lives, feeling the emotion. He then goes home, letting the ingredients marinate as the images become clear in his mind. That is when he begins to tell his story. Every character's facial expression is full of emotion, the result of living amongst the people and having the faces, places and experiences carved into his mind. The comic rendering of his one time milieu has clearly been conceived so that the viewer gets a much more profound appreciation for the scene then any photo or video could hope to offer. "In a world where Photoshop has outed the photograph to be a liar, one can now allow artists to return to their original function - as reporters." - Art Spiegelman Art Spiegelman knows a little something about the subject, his Maus: A Survivor's Tale is the only comic book to ever have won a Pulitzer Prize. Maus is a biography of the author's father, Vladek Spiegelman, a Polish Jew and Holocaust survivor. The work is a graphic narrative in which Jews are depicted as mice, while Germans are depicted as cats. In reporting the selection of Maus for the Pulitzer, the New York Times noted that "the Pulitzer board members... found the cartoonists depiction of Nazi Germany hard to classify." Joe Sacco is anything but hard to classify, he is a tremendous journalist, willing to go to great lengths to tell the story no one else will. Joe Sacco first achieved international fame in 1996 for Palestine, a profoundly new type of journalism, with the story rendered through the form of a comic book. Sacco gave the reader very personal stories, insights you could only gain by spending time with the people. In the 4th issue of Palestine one page is dedicated to a Palestinian joke he heard more than once: Three secret agents were walking along the edge of a forest. One was CIA, one was KGB, and one was Shin Bet. They saw a rabbit running into the trees and they decided to see how fast each of them could capture it. The CIA man went first and returned with the rabbit in ten minutes. They let the rabbit go again. The KGB agent returned with the rabbit in only 5 minutes. The Shin Bet fellow was not impressed, "That's nothing," he said, "let the rabbit go again." The Shin Bet Officer went after the rabbit. The other two agents waited. Five minutes passed... ten minutes...20...40...
"Somethings gone wrong," said one of the agents. They entered the forest to look for their Israeli colleague. They walked for a long time, going deeper and deeper into the woods. Finally they heard noise- yelling and screaming, and they followed the sound to the clearing... "ADMIT YOU'RE THE RABBIT! ADMIT YOU'RE THE RABBIT!" the Shin Bet officer yelled, as he is seen choking and slapping a donkey. That type of reporting is what makes Joe Sacco a special journalist, the ability to recognize how a joke like that can offer the reader a very intimate look at the people who populate the story, how they truly think and feel.

Sacco's latest work is historical journalism about the southern Gaza Strip called, Footnotes in Gaza, published by Metropolitan Books in early 2010.The book received the 2010 Ridenhour Book Prize. Praise for Footnotes in Gaza: "Joe Sacco's gripping, important book about two long-forgotten mass killings of Palestinians in Gaza stands out as one of the few contemporary works on the IsraeliPalestinian struggle likely to outlive the era in which they were written." -The New York Times Book Review "Sacco [is] . . . one of this evolving medium's most skilled advocates."- Los Angeles Times
"In a world where Photoshop has outed the photograph to be a liar, one can now allow artists to return to their original function - as reporters."
- Art Spiegelman
"[Sacco's] unique blend of memory and research, offset by depictions of his own experiences collecting information, blur the lines between journalism and travelogue, providing readers with a deeper understanding of whatever topic on which he sets a discerning eye."-Kirkus Reviews "I don't think it's up to me to tell people what to do about it. I don't have grand illusions about what people should do, or how I can affect their lives on that level. My feeling is, all I want to do is be a medium of other people's stories. Just present them in a way the audience can digest. Not in a way that's going to turn them off. And it's up to those people what they do with that information. Just pay a little more attention to the news, or just understand a little more from reading the book what's going on, or get involved in activism, or get involved in reading, you know, really get involved in the subject itself. I've had all those reactions from people. So I don't really feel like I have this goal of what I want to get. You know, it's sort of written for me too. I'm the one who's curious. And it was just, in some ways, going myself to see, because I want to see what's going on in the world, and then not feeling like I'm just a tourist". Joe Sacco interviewed by Rebecca Tuhus-Dubrow June 2003 "Having already established his reputation as the world's leading comics journalist, Sacco is now making a serious case to be considered one of the world's top journalists, period. His newest undertaking is a bracing quest to uncover the truth about what happened in two Gaza Strip towns in 1956‌ Sacco's art is alternately epic and intimate, but it's his exacting and harrowing interviews that make this book an invaluable and wrenching piece of journalism." The Times UK Joe Sacco is blazing the trail for comic journalists, creating a niche that is growing in popularity. His chosen medium reaches places and people where traditional media is ambivalently ignored or altogether shunned. The Agora would like to thank Joe Sacco for his ingenuity and dedication to journalistic integrity. Please visit our website for more information on Joe Sacco, and how to purchase his books.

Teachers and Police Battle in Oaxaca, Mexico InfoWars.com reported: Teachers in Oaxaca, Mexico, attempted to confront installed president Felipe Calderon yesterday [Feb 16]. In the resulting clashes with police, 15 people, including three photographers, were injured. Calderon was in Oaxaca for the inauguration of a private university for the children of Mexico's elite. Calderon lost the election to Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Calderon, however, was the bankster choice, so the election was fixed in his favor. In 2006, educators in Oaxaca a larger movement against then-Oaxaca Gov. Ulises Ruiz, who was
accused of rigging his election. Several people were killed when thousands of state and federal police attacked the encampment of striking teachers in the central square of the Mexican city. Observers accused the Mexican government of engineering a strategy of tension event by sending in thousands of paramilitary police ahead of the election of dedicated globalist Vicente Fox. Section 22 leaders said Tuesday they were protesting a decree that Calderon signed Monday giving parents of Mexico's tiny elite tax breaks on private school tuition. The union leaders argue the measure undermines Mexico's already struggling public schools. The battle coincided with a United Nations report warning that countries in Latin America and Africa, including Bolivia and Mozambique, are most at risk of food riots as prices advance. Recent protests in North Africa and the Middle East were partly linked to agriculture costs. World food prices climbed to a record in January.

Judge ok's adding fluoride to city's tap water supply - despite overwhelming public opposition COMMENT: Weeks ago, Calgary voted overwhelmingly to stop fluoridation. This is another sign that the resistance to fluoridation is having an effect worldwide. So-called authorities over public health issues will be forced to use strong armed tactics if the public keeps saying "no" on common sense issues. As this article demonstrates, the fluoride issue is hitting directly against the fault line of classical free will and the State's assumed authority over the people. DailyMail.co.uk reported:

"A set of individuals, activists, filmmakers and members of groups like Hands Off Mother Earth, California Skywatch and Canada Skywatch say: Look up at the sky today and you will see a starkly different sight, a crisscross of persistent contrails. Magnetic reversal may now be in progress EvolutionaryLeaps.com reported: According to the British Geological Survey (BGS), we could now be headed into a magnetic reversal. "The South Atlantic Anomaly is growing and spreading westwards from South Africa as the Earth's internal magnetic field rapidly weakens in this region," says this article on the BGS website. "This may be early evidence of a forthcoming reversal in the direction of the Earth's internal magnetic field." 'We do not know in detail precisely what occurs during such reversals, including the
changes observed in the magnetic field and the time a reversal takes to complete,' the BGS adds." "Since so little is known, and in order to determine where radiation risks may be increased and how the atmosphere might respond, the BGS is opening a South Atlantic Anomaly and South Georgia Magnetic Observatory." "By establishing the new observatory, BGS will re-start continuous magnetic observations in South Georgia, last carried out in 1982." What is the South Atlantic Anomaly? "The Earth's magnetic field, generated deep within the planet, is a shield against particle radiation from space," the BGS article continues. "In the South Atlantic this shield is much weaker than elsewhere across the globe and radiation from space therefore penetrates deeper into the atmosphere. This region is known as the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) and the radiation in the SAA is a known hazard to satellites, spacecraft and high-altitude aircraft." "The radiation input into the atmosphere depends on the Sun's magnetic and radiation activity and the geometry (or 'shape') of the Earth's magnetic field. So, understanding the space environment, particularly during magnetic storms, is important. Equally important is understanding any changes over time in the magnetic field observed across the surface of the Earth - see also Long-term monitoring of the Earth's magnetic field." "The Earth is known to be able to re-generate its field and has done so during human pre-history," the BGS article continues. "Understanding the development of the SAA may therefore be significant in understanding the reversal process and its impact on life and the natural environment." "Oil from the BP spill remains stuck on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, according to a top scientist's video and slides that she says demonstrate the oil isn't degrading as hoped and has decimated life on parts of the sea floor." "There's some sort of a bottleneck we have yet to identify for why this stuff doesn't seem to be degrading," marine scientist Samantha Joye of the University of Georgia told the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual conference in Washington. Her research and those of her colleagues contrasts with other studies that show a more optimistic outlook about the health of the gulf, saying microbes did great work munching the oil. "I've been to the bottom. I've seen what it looks like with my own eyes. It's not going to be fine by 2012," Joye told The Associated Press. In response to media reports and official pronouncements, Joy said, "You see what the bottom looks like, you have a different opinion."

But most of us have a clear memory of what the sky looked like: sometimes piercingly white cumulus clouds against a crystal blue backdrop or thin, wispy cirrus clouds of ice crystals whisked across the sky haphazardly or the rounded mounds of altocumulus, a staccato of light and shade with only peek-a-boo blue." “A set of individuals, activists, filmmakers and members of groups like Hands Off Mother Earth, California Skywatch and Canada Skywatch say: Look up at the sky today and you will

"The reversal suggests that smaller changes in multiple genes may have been the primary driver of changes in human phenotypes, and that new models are needed to retrace the genetic steps of evolution." Your TV/Computer Monitor Manipulate Your Nervous System patft.uspto.gov reported: "Physiological effects have been observed in a human subject in response to stimulation of the skin with weak electromagnetic fields that are pulsed with certain frequencies near 1/2 Hz or 2.4 Hz, such as to excite a sensory resonance. Many computer monitors and TV tubes, when displaying pulsed images, emit pulsed electromagnetic fields of sufficient amplitudes to cause such excitation. It is therefore possible to manipulate the nervous system of a subject by pulsing images displayed on a nearby computer monitor or TV set. For the latter, the image pulsing may be imbedded in the program material, or it may be overlaid by modulating a video stream, either as an RF signal or as a video signal. The image displayed on a computer monitor may be pulsed effectively by a simple computer program. For certain monitors, pulsed electromagnetic fields capable of exciting sensory resonances in nearby subjects may be generated even as the displayed images are pulsed with subliminal intensity. SINCE JUNE 2010, the Agora has been covering the story of Tim Moorley and his fight against Fraser Health Authority and Pfizer. In our last update we detailed how the judge presiding over his lawsuit against Fraser Health had ordered the case go to trial. Since then the FHA has been trying everything it can to avoid trial, appealing to the Supreme Court to order a judicial review. The results of the review will be available on March 8th and Mr. Moorley is confident the Supreme Court will uphold the decision and the case will go to trial. Mr. Moorley alleges that doctors in the FHA deliberately faked the results of his heart tests. The reason that for concealing Mr. Moorley's heart tests has yet to be proven, but the most likely motivation is Mr.

Moorley's class action lawsuit against Pfizer. The lawsuit alleges that Pfizer put the pain killer Celebrex on the market knowing that it causes blood clots and has the potential to kill or seriously injure anyone with a patent foramen ovale (PFO), and they failed to warn doctors prescribing Celebrex of this potentially fatal side effect. PFOs occur in about 20% of the population, but usually cause no symptoms, and can only be detected by specialized tests. A PFO allows venous blood (low oxygen count) to enter directly into the arteries, which can increase the risk of deadly blood clots. After taking Celebrex for a few months, Mr. Moorley had a toe amputated and lost the tip of a finger because of blood clots. After consulting a doctor he was told that similar COX-2 inhibitors had been proven to cause blood clots and was advised to file a class action lawsuit against Pfizer. The next step was to prove that he had a PFO. The FHA has performed two echocardiograms on Mr. Moorley. The first test was done at Surrey Memorial Hospital, who after possible contact from Pfizer, denied having ever performed it. After being hounded by Mr. Moorley the hospital admitted to having done the test, but the results had been lost. The second test was performed after The Surrey Leader provided some coverage about the first test being lost by Surrey Memorial Hospital. The second test was performed under video surveillance, with one of the echocardiogram technicians walking out of the room in apparent disgust. Mr Moorley alleges that they swapped his results with another patient's, someone without a PFO.
Mr. Moorley was forced to pay money out of his own pocket to have an independent echocardiograph done in Washington state. The results clearly show that a PFO, leading the doctor to advise immediate medical treatment. It seems like the FHA has black listed Mr. Moorley, as he has been denied another echocardiogram by many doctors, who also refuse to take him as a patient. As long as the FHA refuses to administer another test, he will not receive the relatively simple surgery to close the PFO. Tim Moorley's health and life are in jeopardy. At any time a blood clot could pass through his PFO and seriously compromise his health or even kill him. All of the doctors that know what has happened and have lied are disregarding their hippocratic oath. In my opinion, they should be charged with attempted murder. Mr. Moorley has been telling politicians and media about his story for years. Finally the CBC has heard his pleas for media coverage. Kathy Tomlinson from CBC's GO PUBLIC, has been in contact with Mr. Moorley. Over the past few weeks he has given her all the evidence that we at The Agora have seen; the proof the the FHA has indeed faked his heart tests and black listed MR. Moorley, forcing doctors in the FHA to deny him medical care. Mrs. Tomlinson is now seeking independent verification of Mr. Moorley's evidence from various medical professionals. We encourage Mrs. Tomlinson to move forward in her investigation and demonstrate her journalistic integrity by Going Public with Mr. Moorley's story as soon as possible.
Private Power: Postmedia Sees the Light |
by Rafe Mair
THE VANCOUVER PROVINCE SAYS THAT PRIVATE POWER DECISION “A FOLLY!” Can the Province’s stablemate, the Sun be far behind? As I settled into this past Friday's breakfast, I glanced at the title of the Vancouver Province editorial and saw “Hydro needs to get back to its roots". To my utter astonishment I read the following words in the editorial itself: "a large part of the problems at Hydro is the government insistence that it pursue costly private run of the river projects and other so called 'green' initiatives. A look at Hydro’s annual report shows the folly of this approach". Where the hell have they been as this ghastly program moved inexorably down the path to one environmental disaster after another, bankrupting BC Hydro along the way? The Province goes on to state that in 2010 private power used by Hydro cost them 9X what they could make it for themselves. In fact it's worse because Hydro must "take or pay" for IPP power which is predominantly available during the spring "run off", and so comes when Hydro doesn't need it. Thus Hydro must either take the power at 9-12 times what they can make it for or export it at a 50%+ loss. Some business deal from the "business" government! I'm all but speechless at this editorial – and as you may have noticed it takes a lot for that to happen. What the Province and presumably Postmedia (successors to Canwest) - which owns both the Sun and the Province – are saying is exactly what many environmentalists have for several years and been vilified for it! Surely they didn't come to this decision over a evening beer last Thursday so one must ask The Province, "when did you reach this conclusion?" Nothing has changed for seven or eight years - what made you see the light? And why weren't you frank with your readers the moment you concluded that this plan was "folly"? Both the Sun and Province have excellent writers if they are left alone to write - why weren’t they let loose to examine this issue with the same energy and talent they pursued when they (quite properly) took on

then Premier Clark about a friendly neighbour wanting a gambling license and the “fast ferries” scandal? The contrast between the Vancouver dailies during the NDP years and the Liberal decade can only be explained by assuming that they believe that it’s their responsibility to keep the NDP out of office. The old fashioned tradition of holding government’s feet to the fire clearly ended with the election of Campbell & Co. The truth of the matter is that this issue didn’t drift down the river on a piece of bark. These papers have been stifling news and comment, either by nonreporting or terrible reporting, for half a decade. The IPP issue has been raised over and over not only by Damien Gillis and me, and the Wilderness Committee, but many others, yet if all you knew about the matter was through the media, you would know virtually nothing about it. Isn’t it the media’s duty to fairly inform customers when it comes to news? And to present thought-provoking hard talk from their columnists? The gut instinct of journalists is to question in depth all decisions of government. This simply hasn’t happened and their very best writers have been struck dumb. One can only conclude that Canwest cum Postmedia censors its news and editorial staff and, by its policy, forces columnists to self-censor. Absent any credible denial, one must conclude that the publisher hires editors who know what they want, and won’t print that which is contrary to the official line. You cannot blame
columnists for putting their families before fighting for their traditional role. I know the feeling - I once was forced to grovel and it’s a very unpleasant thing to have to do. I cannot and do not state that this is what happens – only that in the absence of a full explanation to the contrary, reasonable people are likely to reach this conclusion British Columbians have a right to see these sweetheart IPP contracts and find out why the Campbell government concluded that damaging our environment, bankrupting BC Hydro, and driving our power bills through the roof was a sound policy. They are also entitled to expect decent media to ferret out matters of this sort and report upon them fully and fairly. This, I need hardly say, hasn’t happened. I agree with the Province saying that Campbell & Co’s policy was “folly”, but what took them so long? The evidence was all there for them to see - what possible legitimate reason was there to, by their silence, tacitly support the government and its greedy corporate friends? If the Province and the Sun wishes to do some penance they must do three things : 1. Explain why it took so long for them to criticize their own policy towards the Campbell government’s energy policy. 2. State why they haven’t dealt at all with the savaging of our rivers and their ecologies, pursuant to this policy, while approving, by their silence, the bankrupting of BC Hydro. 3. Assure the public that they will start investigating with the thoroughness they once did of all major government initiatives, reporting back honestly, and that they will permit, no insist, that their columnists investigate all the establishment and let us have it as they see it. One can only hope... Rafe Mair was a B.C. MLA 1975 to 1981, Minister of Environment from late 1978 through 1979. TOKYO STORY Pacific Cinematheque- March 3rd @ 6:30pm, 1131 Howe Street, between Helmcken and Davie Streets. Director: Yasujiro Ozu- NEW 35mm PRINT! ? “One of the manifest miracles of the cinema” (Penelope Gilliatt, The New Yorker), Tokyo Story is generally acknowledged to be Ozu’s supreme masterpiece, and
is widely considered one of the greatest films ever made. (It polled in the top five in the 1992 and 2002 instalments of Sight and Sound’s once-a-decade survey of international critics; a 2005 piece by Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian cited a mounting body of opinion naming Tokyo Story as, indeed, the best film of all time, “beating Charles Foster Kane and his sled.”) A sad, simple, economical tale of generational conflict, told in the consummate Ozu style, the film concerns an aging couple who journey to Tokyo to visit their married son and daughter, only to find that their presence seems to be an imposition on their rather insensitive and apparently too-busy offspring. Tokyo Story offers a perfect example of the quality of mono no aware — a sad but serene resignation to life as it is — that informs Ozu’s work.“ Ozu’s vision . . . is emotionally overwhelming, and arguably profound for any engaged viewer; it is also formally unmatched in Western popular cinema” (Tony Rayns). “A picture so Japanese and at the same time so personal, and hence so universal in its appeal, that it becomes a masterpiece” (Donald Richie). B&W, 35mm, in Japanese with English subtitles. 135 mins. KOKORO DANCE @ OFFSITE: Heather and Ivan Morison Plaza VANCOUVER ART GALLERY: OFFSITE Presented in association with the Vancouver Art Gallery Vancouver Art Gallery Offsite is a public art space located on West Georgia Street between Thurlow and Bute streets. March 6, March 13, 2 pm Choreographers: Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi Musician: Stefan Smulovitz Vocalist: Viviane Houle Kokoro Dance draws inspiration from the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Offsite space in a new site-specific piece where dance and movement meets architecture. Choreographers Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi with musician Stefan
Smulovitz and vocalist Viviane Houle respond to the stunning structural pavilion created by artists Heather and Ivan Morison, entitled Plaza in 35 minute work with seven dancers. Rising nearly three stories high, the walls of the pavilion lean outwards towards the street as if they have been torqued in all directions by an extraordinary force. The roof of the interior platform is open to the
sky. The walls are made of heavy timber beams, burnt to a dark charcoal using a Japanese technique for preserving and protecting wood. Dancers, musicians, and audience can enter the space, and in so doing, they become part of the artwork. Artists Heather and Ivan Morison explore architecture as it relates to ideas of escape, shelter and refuge. For Offsite, they have created a pavilion which hovers between sculpture and architecture. More than 12,000 board metres of raw lumber were used to make the monumental structure. The enormous work (11.2 metres tall X 9.7 metres wide X 16.7 metres long) is built of heavy timber beams. Featuring huge blackened timber beams, Plaza mimics the basic form of the urban environment---the gridded box---and twists it to appear suspended between falling and flight. Called "post-everything", Fond of Tigers have been developing their hypnotic and intense music since 2003. Since its origins as a solo project of guitarist Stephen Lyons, the group has expanded to include its signature doubledrumkit attack and processed violin and trumpet textures along with the artfully layered hooks.Featuring seven of Vancouver’s leading creative musicians, Fond of Tigers play a layered, nuanced music that explores musical possibilities ranging from the smallest gesture of extended technique, to the full avant-rock bombast possible with a wild, double-drum-kit-led septet. INHABITANTS March 6, CBC STUDIO ONE, 10:45 pm Formed in 2004, Vancouver's Inhabitants have ascended to become one of Canada's most prominent creative music ensembles. In 2009, Inhabitants were nominated for a Juno Award for 'Instrumental Album of the Year', a

Their singular approach defies genre, melding jazz, rock, noise and free improvisation with new perspective. Trumpeter JP Carter, guitarist Dave Sikula, bassist Pete Schmitt and drummer Skye Brooks find a rare cohesiveness in Inhabitants cultivated from years of musical collaboration in groups like Fond of Tigers, Copilots, Carsick, DarkBlueWorld, The NOW Orchestra and Tony Wilson's 6tet. Q. SQUAMISH NATION BAND COUNCIL (SNBC) MEMBERS : Do not confuse us with the SNBC Members who are controlled to act pursuant to 'fraudulent contracts and 'TheftTreaties' produced by law firms et al for Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) Minister. These puppets enter into fraudulent contracts by pretending to be a 'hereditary'. This lie is revealed by blacked out information on their Name records at the Department of Vital Statistics, controlled by the INAC ministry. We have no idea where some of these Band Council members came from but they continue with the genocide in selling our children to feed the pedophiles at $500 per child per night. We have reported some SNBC members directly to INTERPOL for an ongoing anti-corruption investigation since 2008. Anyone who consults with INAC Band Council Members is entering into a contract of fraud. Not all band councils can be painted with the same brush of corruption. It is Band Council members who wine and dine with de facto BC and CANADIAN Government members who are trained to lie orchestrated by law firms and the Ministry of INAC. They will look you into your eyes and lie by pretending to own the land's and its resources but they never did and they never will own land because they are permanently banished by hereditary leaders from other traditional lands as punishment of hideous crimes against their own kind.
