Keshequa Central School’s Board of Education and Community congratulate the girls’ varsity soccer team on a fantastic season.

Indians girls’ soccer season sets school records The girls’ varsity soccer team completed the best season in school history this year advancing to the New York State Class C semifinals at SUNY Cortland. The team began their season winning their own tournament defeating Newark in the finals 4-0. The team then rolled off 14 straight wins to finish the regular season 16-0, winning their third straight LCAA Division III title. They were ranked No. 1 in the state throughout the entire sea-

son. The team entered sectionals seeded first in Class C and defeated Geneseo in the quarterfinals 4-0 and then defeated York in the semifinals 3-0. They went onto the Class C finals and defeated Kendall 2-1 to claim their second Section V Class C title in three years. The team received a bye in the first round of state qualifiers and then defeated previously unbeaten Addison 2-0 to advance to the Far West regional finals. At the

regional finals in Buffalo, the team defeated Frewsburg 3-0 to capture the school’s first regional trophy and advanced to the state semifinals at SUNY Cortland for the first time in school history. The team ended its season 21-1 outscoring their opponents 97-6 and recorded 18 shutouts. They set school records in wins, goals scored, goals against, and shutouts. Gabrielle DiAngelo, Kristen Jackson, Alexandrea

Flint, Shannon Gordinier and Haley Russell were selected LCAA Division III all-stars. Gordinier also received the NYSPHSAA Sportsmanship Award. DiAngelo was also selected to the LCAA Exceptional Senior team and was voted LCAA Division III Player of the Year for the second year in a row. The team thanks all the people who supported them throughout the year and who helped make this season so special.

Thanks also to all the people who donated food or helped at the meal after services, especially St. Peters Church who organized it and opened their hearts to Jon, and to Debbie Vanscooter for putting on the meal between calling hours and to the members of the Perkinsville Fire Department who donated the use of their building and also helped with the meal afterwards.
