Rosie the rescue came to me when a group reached out a few years ago asking me to foster her for just two weeks. I said no (Ahem). On day 13 she reached through the back seat and laid her head on my chest and I started crying while thinking there is no way I’m going to keep this beefcake dog (Again, ahem).

Rosie the Rescue, as she’s affectionately known

In the one year it took her to fully decompress and trust again, she ruined my hardwood floors in addition to a large rug, annihilated her dog house in under two hours, ate my $2500 door, chewed through my backyard fence to chase after me when I left for work (twice !!), and destroyed her toys beyond recognition within 15 minutes. Suffice it to say several days a week I would cry when I walked in my house dreading what I would find.

I introduced her to my elderly mother who said, and I quote, “Oh... oh honey, you can’t get rid of her, you have to keep her., she loves you!” I said No, I really didn’t.

Rosie and Stacy share a tight bond

Flash forward to almost three years later and I cannot imagine my life without her. She has turned into the most affectionate, kind, loving dog I’ve ever known. She is truly my best friend and brings me so much laughter and joy every single day! There is no price on this, on the love she exudes and brings to everyone she meets!!

I recently purchased a new car and decided to keep my 20-yearold car, which I appropriately call Rosie’s car. She loves to go everywhere!
