TYPES OF SENTENCES

Exclamation Point


STATEMENT A statement sentence tells something. It gives the reader information. It ends with a period. { . } ex: James studied for the test last night.


QUESTION A question or interrogative sentence asks something. It ends with a question mark. {?} ex. Which way shall I go?


COMMAND A command sentence makes a request. It ends with a period. { . } ex. Please raise your hand to answer the question.


EXCLAMATION An exclamation sentence expresses strong emotions. It ends with an exclamation point. {!} ex. I am so happy today!
