The University of Virginia Darden School of Business is pleased, for the first time in one publication, to present the career outcomes from Darden’s three degree programs: the full-time MBA, the Executive MBA and — our most recent addition — the Master of Science in business analytics (MSBA).

ut more than data, this brochure presents compelling success stories of the purpose-driven students who unlocked their “whys” through meaningful career opportunities. We also share new, exciting achievements and progress at Darden’s Career Center. With each passing year, I am more and more convinced that the center's team of career coaches, recruiting specialists and operations staff is the best in the business. Here are a few of our accomplishments from the 2018–19 academic year. Darden Career and Academic Rankings Continue to Rise The 2018–19 academic year marked another full of superlative-worthy rankings. Darden’s full-time MBA rose in every ranking of programs in which the School participates, and to start the 2019–20 academic year, moved up to No. 5 overall in Bloomberg Businessweek.

Examining Career Outcomes From the Executive MBA and MSBA Programs For the first time ever, we are pleased to release career outcome data reported by the most recent graduates of the Executive MBA program and the MSBA program. It is especially impressive that the Darden and UVA McIntire School of Commerce teams were able to collect this data from the very first cohort of MSBA graduates. These strong employment outcomes will prove invaluable to prospective students, alumni and recruiting partners in the years to come. New Spaces, Places and Platforms to Engage Recruiters in Charlottesville, the DC Area and Beyond In spring 2019, the center moved to the second floor of the Abbott Center on Darden Grounds in Charlottesville. The move brings our services closer to students, providing them with ease of access, and facilitates employer partners’ movement throughout our facilities. We renovated space in the Abbott Center to provide visiting recruiters with a new lounge and new, private interview
Last summer, the center launched a self-paced online program, titled Career Development WhyFinding, or “CDWhy” for short. In response to the needs of Darden’s recruiting partners, the center developed the curriculum to help Darden’s Class of 2021 prepare for the MBA internship and job search earlier than ever. The program helped students gain strong, competitive competencies in their sense of self, recruiting presence and understanding of MBA hiring industries. Based on the success of CDWhy for full-time MBA students, the center will expand the program for Executive MBA and MSBA students this year. For the Executive MBA, career coaches now partner closely with Connie Dunlop, executive director for professional advancement, to deliver content that is stronger and more relevant than ever for Darden’s executive format students.
