Daria Filatova > Corporate Identity & Posters Branding and Advertising for “Profi” (“ПРОФИ”) household tools. For the company “Profi” I designed a corporate identity, packages for household tools and series of advertising posters. For me it was an interesting project since I had the opportunity to see the beauty in ordinary everyday tools. I made a series of macro photos, which were used in the packaging design and for the advertising posters’ collages.

Daria Filatova > Wayfinding Signage for Kursk Railway Station Moscow This project is a new vision of a Wayfinding Signage System for an interior with big flow of people. Kursk Railway Station is one of the biggest railway stations in Moscow. The work at this project was divided into next parts: research on the target area of the station, choose of wayfinding strategy, branding for the station, design of the signage and 3D visualization. At the research stage I studied the station structure. The architecture is very unique. The first building was built at the beginning of the XX century and it is an example of classic architecture of that time. Later, when the main building was not enough for contemporary railway needs, it was “placed” into a “glass cube”. At the same time the underground floor and transitions to the platforms were added. Now this is the three-levels railway complex that provides serves for domestic and long-distance trains, as well as this is a large shopping and business center. I reflected the history and essence of the Station in the logo and whole branding. Also the building influenced on the wayfinding strategy as I chose
color-coding method to split the huge flow of passengers and create easier understandable navigation signs. Two parts of station that provides services for domestic directions and long distance direction were divided: blue family colors were used in all signs related to the domestic trains information; opposite: orange family colors were used for long-distance train information. Signs of U.S. Department of Transportation Management were taken as a basis for pictograms. They were given a corporate identity with using logo of Railway station As I see it the main task of this work was to unify aesthetics and functionality in signage design. The hierarchy approach organs information in order to its urgently as the specific of human behavior on the railways stations (for example some passengers are very hurry and opposite, some of them have to wait at the lounge for a long time). Also I used my knowledge in ergonomics to organize information to be readable from different distance and angels.

Daria Filatova > Service Design and Site Development Service Center for Russian Railways Both variants of organization of service centre for high-speed train passengers are located on two levels. The first option is incorporates the underground level (-1 floor) to locate entrance to the parking area and exit to the private platform (7-9). An inspection area and travelator to the gates were organized on this level for the passengers’ convenience. The second option is implemented with the superstructure of one level. In this case the entrance from parking area and access to the private platform are located on the ground level (1st floor). The elevator between floors is provided for the visitors with luggage to move freely around service centre.

Daria Filatova > Human Energy and Environmental Colors movie for research This movie shows path of the energy inside of human body. Our physical body needs energy in the form of food, water, air, movements and etc. Our feelings need new sensations, impressions and experiences. Our mind needs new themes for reflection, new tasks and knowledge. I used a skeleton with some internal organs to show the internal processes in the human body. I created this “skeleton” more perfect than it actually is to show spiritual energy processes exactly. And I used an apple as a metaphor of “food” and as the object of understanding the world. The font I used is emotional and playful since I created it from several types with serifs.

Daria Filatova > Emergency Wayfinding at the Airport Airport Environment Research (for Center for the Protection of National Infrastracture. London) In this research, I address the topic of security at the airport in case of emergency. A passenger aircraft has the necessary equipment in case of emergency. Moreover, in the aircraft, passengers view a pre-takeoff demonstration of safety equipment and have access to safety booklets. This can prevent severe consequences in case of an unexpected situation. Therefore, this paper proposing applying this experience for creation of a safety and information system within the airport environment.
