The Top 100 Executives Awards, one of its kind in Tanzania for this year took place on 8th October at Mlimani City Hall in Dar es salaam. The guest of Honour was Prof. Kitila Mkumbo from Minister of Industry and Trade and the special guest was Hon. Omar Said Shaaban from Minister of Trade and Industry of Zanzibar.
The awards were presented by the Hon. Prof. Kitila Mkumbo from Minister of Industry and Trade with the aim of recognizing the good work done by companies especially during the COVID 19 pandemic last year. He also presented two lifetime achievement awards to the late IPP chairman Mr. Reginald Mengi and the late businessman Mr. Ali Mufuruki to recognize their good work done during their lifetime.
The event was attended by distinguished corporate executives from different companies such as CRDB Bank, KCB Bank, TCB Bank, Imatic Technologies Limited (ITL), Zara International Travels, Empower Limited, White Sands Hotel, Sea Cliff Hotel, ICEA LION General Insurance company,
Vodacom and Strategis Insurance
Company. Star Consulting Group this year with the aim to celebrate and recognize individual and corporate achievements in the year 2020. The categories were as follows; CEO of the year, Non-Profit CEO of the year, CEO Startup of the year, CHRO of the year, CCO of the year, CFO of the year, CIO of the year, COO of the year and Lifetime Achievement Award.
Hon. Mkumbo assured the corporate executives and investors that he promises to continue creating a good environment for executives and investors to work in Tanzania. He congratulated the winners doing well despite the Covid 19 pandemic. In his words he said “This is a lesson that when you have resilience you can handle obstacles well”

Mr Deo also took the time to officially introduce The Tanzania Top 100 Executives List Publication, in his words he said “There will also be a publication about the Tanzania Top 100 Executives List coming out early next year that will be distributed across different embassies abroad as well as in the country and different corporate offices which will explain an overview of the industry and business report in Tanzania, as well as highlighting the achievements of the winners and their companies’”
Miss Michelle Rusenene introduced ``The Tanzania Eastern Star Consulting group’s founders Mr. Deo Kilawe and Mr Alex Shayo who are also the founders and organizers of the Tanzania Top 100 Executives List Awards promised to make these awards annually to appreciate the good work done by Tanzanian corporates and urges more companies and corporate executives to participate next year.
Institute Of Managers (TIM)” which is a professional membership organization established in 2021 affiliated to the Tanzania Top 100 Executives List Awards with the purpose to promote management competencies throughout Tanzania which will be used to train and certify managers in the country. She urged all corporate executives to register and become members.
We are looking forward to The Tanzania Top 100 Executives Awards next year that will happen in August. Applications will be out by January next year and all companies and corporate executives interested should participate.
