England men’s Ashes misery finally came to an end in a familiar fashion, but not before they gave us something to laugh at (or should that be ‘cry’?) about.
Picture the scene… England are set 271 runs to win on the third day of the fifth Test, where we reach 68-0. With an opening pair who, at long last, looked established at the crease, that glimmer of hope started to shine a little more brightly. Here was an opportunity for the team to end the series with some dignity, prove some doubters wrong, and head home without having to keep their heads down for long.
But then they gave us something to laugh that… they lost all 10 wickets for just 56 more runs. The Test was over inside three days, the series lost 4-0.
It was one of the worst collapses of all time. But as an indication of their spell of recent collapses, it is the fifth time in four years England have lost all 10 wickets for less than 65. Upcoming events in February include:
Feb 4-20 - Winter Olympics - Beijing Feb 5 - Mar 19 - Rugby Six Nations Feb 13 American Football - Super Bowl
