With Christmas behind us, and still four weeks of holidays to go – what better way to keep the kids amused and cool off at the YMCA Water Parks, with a fabulous program of events guaranteed to provide hours of fun and entertainment. Both parks are proudly managed by the YMCA of the Top End on behalf of the Northern Territory Government. They are equipped with great facilities, including shaded and grassy areas, BBQ facilities, and wet and dry play areas. Leanyer Recreation Park boasts a stylish café serving up barista coffee and gourmet snacks, including mouth-watering barra burgers and salt and pepper squid. The three giant water slides are complement by designated swimming zones and a water playground. Palmerston Water Park is home to the giant water slide. Standing at 14 metres high, the 6-lane slide’s ‘ready set go’ system allows you to race your friends all the way to the end! Desiginated wet play areas for young and old alike also provide hours of fun, whether you are a toddler or a teenager. The school holiday program of events are provided free of charge, including Yeni’s face painting, Kev’s mobile disco, Trixie the Pixie, and Hyper the Clown.
