Niki AI Chat Bot to Simplify Your Order Experience

A

rtificial Intelligence has been a rage, owing to its utility and advantages. Globally renowned companies have been incorporating AI into their systems, and aiming to tap newer audiences and attract more business. The hottest segment of this current trend is the market for conversational bots. From a customer point of view, it becomes really convenient to interact naturally with a bot, who can then get the work done for you in a smart way. Keeping this in mind, the founding team at Niki.ai started working on a conversational agent named Niki who can help users shop. They firmly believe that adoption to a new and innovative technology comes when there is a significant utility of the product. Hence they decided to combine the potential of AI and conversations, with the utility of commerce. Niki.ai was founded by four IIT Kharagpur alumni – Sachin Jaiswal, Nitin Babel, Shishir Modi and Keshav Prawasi. Keshav comes with a Computer Science background and has worked with Amazon for 4 years building architectures at scale. Shishir was the head of Strategic Initiatives at Indiareads, and Nitin has worked with Ipsos doing Marketing Analytics for Fortune 500 firms, before co-founding niki.ai. Sachin co-founded data

analytics company Innovacer before Niki.ai which was preceded with a job at Oracle as a product manager. Started in May 2015, Niki envisions to become one shop for everything commerce. Niki is an AI bot who converses to help you shop for 20+ products and services and makes the whole journey from discovery to transaction fast, convenient and extremely simple. The services range from travel services like Hotel, Cab and Bus Booking, to Utility Bill Payments, to entertainment services like movie and events booking. The team has always believed that artificial intelligence has the potential to redefine m-commerce globally, and they stuck to their mission in the initial stages. The founders put all their focus on building a value-providing product first, before they start to worry about funding. Once they had something to show for as a beta, they got good feedback from users and mentors alike. The company then raised seed round from Unilazer Ventures in October 2015. Post which there was a follow up round in May 2016 by their existing investors Unilazer Ventures and Mr. Ratan Tata. The company feels proud that Mr. Tata backs their vision. The team is motivated to learn from his vast experience and knowledge about the industry and business.

Technology

Niki.ai has been developing the bot for around 3 years, serving over millions of interactions across travel, entertainment, food, home services, utilities like bills and recharges, among others. The bot in form of an SDK (Software Development Kit) of less than 1MB in size, provides brands with a unique opportunity to enable these interactions on their platform through a simple integration, and make use of the advanced technology built by Niki.ai to engage, retain as well as monetise their customer bases. With the combines user base of 2 Million+ now, the company is seeing over 56% month on month growth in revenues. The company works on a straightforward channel partnership model. It takes orders from customers and passes it on to their partner who does the fulďŹ llment. Notable merchant partners include Bookmyshow, Cleartrip, Ola, Uber, Redbus and more. For every order generated, Niki.ai gets a commission from the partners. Additionally, the company has developed its Niki Software Development Kit (Niki SDK) which a brand can integrate on any platform (Android, iOS and Web) and enable conversational commerce for their consumers - this is again a revenue source for Niki.ai. There have been many apps, which have changed the way humans explore and transact for services online. However, the traditional 'tap' interface is not natural to humans. A new UI for each service and tons of taps for every single service makes the experience cumbersome. The traditional ofine method allows customers to get suggestions and is more instinctive, but very slow and inconvenient. This is the gap that Niki is ďŹ lling. It is the best of both worlds. It enables the user to converse with Niki to explore options, which is as natural as chatting with a friend. It also provides a fast and convenient experience to the customers to simplify their life.

Technology

Niki aims to bring the next billion online, and believes that it is possible only if all the friction there is when it comes to taking care of tasks online, can be eradicated. Conversational interfaces are for everyone, and thus have the potential to 'enable' everyone to get things done in a way as simple as talking to a friend. To further enhance the experience, the company is already working on voice and multilingual support. This will enable users to be able to actually speak and converse with Niki in their own regional language to make transactions. Being trusted by SDK partners like HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, ICICI Bank, Karbonn, Intex and likes, further bolsters the conďŹ dence in conversational commerce as a whole. Other than those related to commerce, the company is also working on some really interesting usecases including that of a stock broker and insurance agen, to name a few. With more services and more SDK partnerships in the pipeline, Niki.ai's vision is for Niki to be everywhere and everything transactional.

rypto currencies have been in the news lately because tax authorities believe they may be utilized to launder money and evade taxes. What’s Crypto currency? Crypto currency, as the name suggests, uses encrypted codes to perform a transaction. These codes are recognized by other computers from the user community. The buyer account is debited and the seller account is credited with such currency. How are Transactions Made on Crypto currency? When a transaction is initiated by a single user, the computer sends out public code or public key that interacts with private cypher text of individual receiving currency. Special users called Miners can link the extra code to the publicly shared block publicly resolving a cryptographic puzzle and gain more crypto currency in the process. Once a miner confirms a transaction, the record from the block can’t be changed or deleted. The transaction is as easy to scan a QR code in the application on your smart phone or bring them face to face by using Near Field Communication. Note that this is very comparable to regular online wallets like PayTM or MobiQuick. Die-hard users swear by BitCoin because of its decentralized nature, international approval, anonymity, the permanence of transactions and information protection. Unlike paper

currency, no Central Bank controls crypto currency. Transaction logs are stored in a Peer to Peer network which means every computer chip in its computing power and copies of databases are stored on every such node in the network. How Can Crypto currency be utilized for Money Laundering? The very fact that there’s No control over crypto currency transactions by Central Banks or taxation authorities implies that transactions can’t always be tagged to a certain individual. Which implies that we do not know if the transactor has obtained the store of value legally or not.

BUSINESS

The transaction is likewise suspect as nobody can tell what consideration was given because of the currency received.

What does Indian Law say about such Virtual Currencies? Virtual Currencies or cryptocurrencies are commonly seen as pieces of software and therefore classify as an asset under the Sale of Goods Act, 1930. As being goods, GST on the services provided by Miners will be applicable to them. In budget 2018, it has been cleared by Mr Arun Jaitely that crypto currencies like bitcoin and others will not be accepted as legal tender in India although these can be deďŹ ned as crypto assets and shall be held as assets by an individual. Recently at the beginning of April 2018, Reserve bank of India has given a recommendation report with immediate action prohibiting banks and agencies under RBI Act 2017(amended) for accommodating any buying and selling transactions for crypto currencies. Any cryptocurrencies obtained by a resident in India would thus be regulated by the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 as an import of goods in this country. India has allowed the trading of BitCoin in Special Exchanges with integrated safeguards because of tax evasion or money laundering activities and enforcement of Know Your Client (KYC) norms. Almost all the exchanges are on the self-regulatory system rather than any government law regarding regulations. There is an urgent requirement of guidelines for these currencies in favour as due to uncontrollable factor as it will be very

difďŹ cult to stop channelization of money from India to counties like Dubai, Uk where they welcome blockchain and cryptocurrency projects.

ust two weeks ahead of its global unveiling, Brabham Automotive has released headline figures for the Brabham BT62, along with a photograph which gives a glimpse of its first car.

The teaser image shows the rear of a low-slung, race-inspired car. The BT62’s thin LED accent tail lights are reected in its extreme carbon fibre rear wing, which points to the car’s performance potential. With performance characteristics that point to the potency of the car, the new Brabham is pure-bred for the track and capable of setting blistering lap times, designed and engineered to demand more from the driver and reward the limited few who will rise to its challenge. The BT62 boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 730ps per tonne, a dry weight of just 972kg and is powered by a Brabham naturally-aspirated 5.4 litre capacity V8 engine. With its performance-optimised body and aggressive aerodynamic package, the Brabham BT62 delivers over 1200kg of downforce.

Saving additional weight and with additive performance, the BT62’s brakes are carbon/carbon – a current Formula 1 technology that was first introduced to the sport by Brabham in 1976 – featuring six pistons front and rear. Celebrating seventy years since Sir Jack Brabham launched his racing career in Australia in 1948, production of the Brabham BT62 will be limited to just seventy cars. With a price of £1m plus local taxes, and before options, orders are being taken now, and first deliveries are expected later this year. Owners of the BT62 will join a Brabham driver development programme which will enable them to fully exploit the performance of the vehicle on the track.

Automotive

Immediately following its reveal, the allnew Brabham BT62 will be on show at a prestigious central London location on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 May, amidst a breath-taking assembly of historic Brabham racing cars and memorabilia. Open to the general public, and with admission by ticket only, places are limited and demand is likely to be very high.

fter stealing the 2018 Geneva motor show with the remarkable ‘Vision Concept’, Lagonda has confirmed plans for its first production model: a radical, sector-defining zero-emission SUV.

Scheduled to be unveiled in 2021, the Lagonda SUV will be the first luxury SUV exclusively driven by zero emission powertrain technologies and will uphold all the qualities of the reinvented super-luxury marque. Not only will it feature an evolution of the incredibly bold design language first seen with the show-stopping ‘Vision Concept’, the SUV will be built around near-future technologies, such as its advanced Battery Electric drivetrain, making the Lagonda SUV the first of its kind: an ultra-stylish, supremely luxurious, fully electric emission-free vehicle. ‘In reviving one of the most iconic names in motoring we have created a unique opportunity,’ said Aston Martin President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Palmer. ‘One that allows us to cast aside an inherited 20th century approach and instead design cars around 21st century demands and desires. The Lagonda SUV is the first of its kind: a spacious, high-performance 4x4 that successfully reconciles a love of technology, luxury and style.’ ‘The Lagonda SUV will retain the boldness of the Vision Concept’ said Aston Martin EVP and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman. ‘Lagonda is a luxury brand, but it is also one rooted in technology. It will be like no other SUV to drive, so its looks have to reect that new reality and to serve as pathfinder to a future in which the most desirable and prestigious automobiles still have a place.’

A Mid-Range Performance Phone Design - Nice design (although it's largely recycled from the Redmi Note 4) - with a polished and minimalist feel - and good build quality - Good, fast fingerprint sensor

Performance - Good speed/performance, based on the same hardware as the Redmi Note 4 - feels snappy to use - apps don’t take much time to load and games run just fine with minimal stutters

Software - The MIUI interface over Android is snappy, minimalistic and packed with nifty features - the MIUI 9 brings in a bunch of optimisations including the newer F2FS file storage format, real-time defragmentation and dynamic resource allocation, among other things - the nifty ‘Quick Ball’ offers another way to navigate the phone while ‘Dual Instance’ allows two accounts of the same app to run on the phone Display - One of the major improvements over its predecessor is the modern bright, tall, 5.99inch Full HD+ 18:9 display, with minimal bezels - bringing the Redmi Note series on par with the current display trend - Apart from the form factor of the display, it is otherwise pretty good too - in terms of brightness levels, sunlight legibility, customizable color modes, and a nifty reading mode (that puts a monochrome tint over the display much like an e-ink panel)

Tested

Camera - The other (small) improvement over its predecessor is in terms of a slightly better camera - the combination of the larger pixel size and lower aperture allows more light to fit into individual pixels with lesser spillage - the results are slightly better detail reproduction, improved dynamic range and deeper contrasts - the camera on the Redmi Note 5 is also high on contrasts, and this helps with indoor shots too - The camera app also has a good bunch of filters - Overall, the rear camera is pretty good (though not the absolute best in this price bracket) - Decent selfie camera too

Battery - Also continues the stellar battery life performance of its predecessor, with the same 4, 000mAh battery - the battery life lasts way over a day and then some - if you need a phone that lasts really long, this is without a doubt the phone to get - Decent (though not exceptional) charging speed - takes about 2 hours to charge fully - Overall, if you're looking for a nononsense device that offers the right mix of battery life and performance, you can't go wrong with the Redmi Note 5

Verdict - On the whole, the Redmi Note 5 is a solid upgrade over its super popular predecessor - if there’s any company that knows how to strike a balance between performance, imaging and battery life, it has to be Xiaomi and the Redmi Note 5 is one of the best example of the fact - When pitched against the competition, the phone wins particularly in terms of battery life and the display quality - the camera quality is also good, although it may not be at par with what the Honor 7X or the Moto G5 Plus has, but it’s enough to get appreciated on social media, and that’s mostly what people want

Like with Google Flights, you can see the cheapest dates to fly through a month view calendar, and you can also get alerts when prices change. If you’re not sure where exactly you want to go, Skyscanner offers a category that lets you explore “Top Deals” from your nearest airport, as well as a curated list of destinations at affordable prices.

Citymapper For a long time, whenever I was spotted using Google Maps to navigate London’s public transport network a friend would look over and prod: “Oh, don’t you use Citymapper?” Eventually, I relented. Comprehensive, easy to use and also playful, Citymapper offers more detailed journey planner information than Google, including real-time departures and disruption alerts,

It even tells you how long your journey will take by jetpack – useless information really, but hopefully something to cheer you up when your train is cancelled.

Google Translate This translator can be a useful tool to support your own, more serious language learning, but realistically, it’s most useful on a practical level quickly translating day-today words you come across on your travels. For example, you can hold your camera up to text – such as a sign, or a menu – and Google will translate it for you instantly. It’s an essential app for any traveller.

The company claims it can save you up to 40 percent on your next ight, and that’s all done by analyzing and tracking billions of ights. Airbnb Whether legal in the city you’re visiting or not, Airbnb is a household name. The app undercuts hotels by offering far cheaper prices, and a more authentic experience by staying with a local, or their home. Eventually, the app will become an allin-one travel app that lets you plan your day, book a car, and more.

The best dating apps for 2018 to help you find that special someone

T

his made some lives so easy in the world of dating, just few swipes and there you go! Swiping lefts rejects the choice and swiping right gives you right to continue the with the option! Of course you can chat with more than one person. The algorithm that this app follows is so easy by swiping left and right. Only the basic app of Tinder doesn't give you facility of searching people. Apart from this, it's very easy to feel the proďŹ le and start connecting and chatting with people. The GUI is very user friendly.

Dating

Wow! The name is so attractive as it involves two essential and favourite things 'Coffee' and 'Bagel'. This is one of the mostly used app for dating and popular one too. Actually it has a simple process to login by filling the personal information for the profile or you can simply link it to your facebook account and totally go for searching your happiness. You get to see the profiles and when you like anyone's profile, you loose some coffee beans from your account. The GUI is bit complex to understand but overall the app is interesting.

Dating

OkCupid

O

kay.. so this app is so simple. You need to make your profile the way you want, selecting your profile picture and writing few things describing yourself, also you have option to logi through your facebook account! Although to find your perfect match you get to ask some questions about yourself and you are also need to answer what are you looking in your match, which is one of the unique feature I would say! It also has the 'Left -Right' option same as in Tinder to show likes and dislikes for profiles. When you actually start into the app, while showing profiles it also show how much do you match with the person, in terms of percentages. You have little lengthy process to start chat but it's quite fun using this app. You might this thing about this app which is, this app shows whether the person is online or not by circular green symbol.

Woo So here you just have to login through your facebook account and there is no other option to login. Your profile and basic information is switched from facebook acc. This app also provides the simple thing as in Tinder and in OkCupid app that is 'Left to dislike' and 'Right to like' the profile. otherwise the GUI is cool and moderately confusing. One thing this app provide which is really unique is that, it gives you calling facility through the app only. Which ultimately means you don't need to share your personal mobile number to talk to the person. Other things are same too, like uploading your photos and choosing from facebook account and sharing your information. Although the login requires the facebook path only, the app assures you that nowhere on your FB account, any information of this will be shared. FYI: you will meet so many(amazing and gorgeous) people here.

Dating

happn It's a simple dating app where we sing in through our facebook account and of course no data is shared from FB to this app. After filing your profile info, you get to see other people and find two buttons which says 'you ain't interested' with cross button and a like and super like button is there otherwise. You have an option of searching people in this apps unlike others and it's pretty easy to go app.

Bay is another ubiquitous name in online shopping. It’s been around forever and everyone knows what it is. The app is pretty decent and lets you do pretty much everything you can do on the website including bidding, searching, purchasing, and checking on items that you’re selling. You can find some great stuff here for good prices if you’re patient enough. It may not be an every day kind of app like Amazon but it’s still fun to browse to see what you might find. It's one of those shopping apps that's always fun to just browse.

+ Groupon is another coupons app and arguably the most well-known on this list. It claims to be able to deals for up to 50%-70% off of quality items although in most cases it’s less than that. Using the mobile app, you can buy and participate in deals, track your purchased vouchers, and redeem coupons using the app. There are some more advanced features for those who are really into coupons. You can also share deals with friends and family, track deals by location and expiration date, and more. It’s a solid coupons app. It also works for online stores and the usual brick-and-mortar stores.

There's an art to shopping at Zara. We'd consider ourselves something of a pro (OK, fine, more like a stalker) and that includes keeping this app on standby at all times. It makes it easier to filter through the large assortment, as well as keep tabs on fresh arrivals before they sell out. The best part? There's a built-in barcode scanner that offers instant info on your in-store finds.

When you just need a little bit of everything, Amazon is the way to go (but you already knew that). Put your Prime account to good use with this app that lets you browse millions of products, scan barcodes, and read reviews until the end of the internet.

Poshmark is the ultimate shopping app for ďŹ nding gently used (read: discounted) clothing and consigning items you no longer wear. No space in your closet? Make room and money at the same time! Then ďŹ ll it right back up with new stuff, because it's what we do best.

Translation, if you're not an audiophile? It sounds fantastic. Tidal features an extensive library of more than 25 million songs, and users can also watch any of more than 75,000 ad-free music videos. Other extras include acurated lists and music identification, discovery tools and exclusives like co-founder Jay-Z's recent 4:44 album. The catch? There's no free tier, with Tidal Premium (320kbps AAC) costing $9.99 monthly, and Tidal Hi-Fi (lossless FLAC) setting you back $19.99. If you happen to be a Sprint subscriber, you can get Tidal Hi-Fi for free for six months.

While it’s not really a full-edged music streaming service, Vevo still offers a remarkable selection of music videos within its app. You can create genre-spanning playlists and stream live musical performances, or simply browse Vevo’s handpicked selection of HD videos and recommendations. When you sign up, you’ll be asked to select your favorite music genres and artists, and the app will notify you when there’s a new music video available from those artists. It’s unlikely to be one you use as your go-to streaming service, but if you love music videos, there’s no better app.

The days of internet pirate radio has mostly passed, but there’s still some great stuff out there. TuneIn Radio grants you access to more than 120,000 live radio stations from around the globe. But if you’re not interested in that, you can still access the live radio stations for free.
