I particularly enjoyed my time at Frosty’s which is coming back for it’s sophomore year. Don’t be fooled: this is a nightclub. However, there’s something about a whole bunch of adults in their Christmas attire absolutely bumping to “Get Low” by Lil John & the Eastside Boys that I truly had to appreciate.

This Danish-inspired hotspot in the West Loop is an elegant choice for creative American fare. Elske is a two Michelin star winner and Chef David Posey was a James Beard Finalist so you know you’re in for a delectable treat when you dine here.
Kyle Francsis - Ritz-Carlton Brindille
This stunning modern French hideaway in River North is a true fine dining treat. Led by Chef Carrie Nahabedian, Brindille’s menu of foie gras, seafood, and lamb is well-deserving of it’s James Beard Award. The perfectly chosen and lengthy wine list tops off this dining experience.
High-end New American fare complements the rustic-chic vibe of Smyth, a twoMichelin star winner and the creation of culinary power couple John and Karen Shields. A dual-concept masterpiece with The Loyalist, Smyth sets out to create memories for its guests through the freshest food and drinks.
I really love Boka in Lincoln Park for fine dining. The multi-year Michelin Star winning restaurant is upscale, yet not pretentious. Their seasonal menu has something that will satiate any palate and their extensive wine list has something for every connoisseur. Whether you’re seating in the glitzy bar area or the main dining room, you’ll have an exceptional experience at Boka!

4 Reasons You Have to Try
By Amber HolstIt’s a Chicago Tradition
Since 1949, Chicagoans have been lining up to get their Garrett Popcorn fix and leaving the home-grown popcorn shops with cheddar dusted fingers and bags of goodness that will undoubtedly be empty before they even get back home.
World Famous Garrett Mix
It’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory, and it’s basically been dubbed “Chicago-style” popcorn. The Garrett signature mix was born around 1977 from customers who would habitually order one bag of caramel, one bag of cheddar, and a third empty bag (so they could mix it themselves).
It’s Handcrafted Fresh
The delicious aroma wafting around each shop probably gives it away, but the popcorn is prepared fresh all day, every day. Each small batch begins with a proprietary blend of non-GMO kernels which their cooks hand stir in their signature Copper Kettles according to secret family recipes.
They Mix it Up
While concierges’ agree that trying the Garrett Mix is a must-do Chicago experience, Garrett’s offers a fun, seasonal rotation of limited time flavors like a Buffalo Ranch mix for football season or the limited-edition Hickory Smoked Bacon CheeseCorn that’s available in stores now.
Where to Grab A Quick Bite
By Dustin FordThis city moves fast; so fast, that eating on the go is the norm. No one should have to waste their precious lunch break on minimart snack bars or gas station sandwiches. Luckily, there are several Chicago restaurants that can provide you with a quality meal on the double.
Russell Zwolinski, The Hotel Chicago-Autograph Collection Dough Bros
These guys capture the quick serve life of a New York Pizzeria. These 100-hour fermented pizza crusts lay the foldable foundation of a classic Ney York Slice. You don’t even need to walk through the doors to get in on the action; just order through the window!
Sigaran,I really like Brown Bag Seafood on Randolph. Its healthy and affordable, with a mix and match menu that keeps you from getting bored.
Mat Chapman, Goddess and the Baker Goddess and the Baker
These fast-casual cafes are known for their excellent coffee and energetic atmosphere. The lines always move fast, so it doesn’t take long for you get your hand on one of their craft bowls, baked goods, or sandwiches. This is the type of place you could leave at any time, yet you want to stay longer.
Entienne Padin, Eurostars Magnificent Mile Velvet Taco
These chef-driven gourmet tacos push the barrier on what tacos can be. These culinary artists take use tortillas as their canvas to make something unique and delicious. While these ingredients may take hours to prepare, they only take a few seconds to put together. That’s the beauty of tacos; they are so simple and yet they allow great complexity.
John Dillon, Langham Hotel BIG & Little’s
Named after the co-founder’s nicknames, these restaurants are known for Big taste at Little prices. It’s surprising that there isn’t a third co-founder named Quick, because these guys move fast! It’s a fast way to get great Poboys, Burgers, and many more of the owner’s favorites.
A mainstay on the Chicago brunch scene, Yolk has long been known for egg-ceptional (sorry, we had to) eggs Benedicts, omelettes, and pancakes. This summer, though, Yolk is elevating it’s coffee offerings, making it a go-to for a delightful cup o’ joe to go to start your day. As though you needed any more motivation to grab a Yolk breakfast, here are a few more reasons to head there now:
Live the Latte Life
Or cappuccino, or cold brew...whichever coffee beverage strikes your fancy, Yolk is ready to serve you! Yolk locations have upgraded their coffee equipment and now have a full barista menu that includes everything from lattes
to macchiatos and everything in between. Looking for a little flavor in your life? Make sure to add one of Yolk’s homemade syrups to your coffee concoction!
New Menu Items
You asked, Yolk delivered! Straight from the Yolk Test Kitchen comes two brand new menu items that you need to try. The Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and the Breakfast Burrito were so popular at the Yolk Test Kitchen that they have been added to the menu! Oh, and they’re both super pretty, so you can rock that #nofilter hashtag when you post it to Instagram.
Skip the Wait
No one likes waiting first thing in the morning. Skip the wait at Yolk! Make sure to pick up a card from your concierge before you head to brunch! When you present a concierge business card to the Yolk hosts, you’ll get to skip the wait and get priority seating.

The Year of Chicago Theatre might be coming to an end, but there are still plenty of shows to be seen. In fact, there has never been a better time to catch a show than right now.
Angela Inpanbutr, Hampton & Homewood Suites West Loop CIBC Theatre
For over 100 years the CIBC Theatre has been bringing Broadway to Chicago, and now is no exception. Early birds can catch Irving Berlin’s White Christmas from December 10 th to 15 th . The everpopular Hamilton and the cult classic The Phantom of the Opera will continue to play until January 5 th . In late January, you can expect to catch the Tony Award winning Once on This Island to grace our city.
Marcus Hollis, Omni Hotels Looking Glass Theatre
At the looking glass theatre, you’re encouraged to step into a new world beyond imagination. Open you mind to what could be and you might find something more powerful than anything in the world: a message. There might not be a more fitting play than the one featured there now, The Steadfast Tin Soldier. This story shows that no matter how we are brought into this world, it is our actions that shape us.
Kimmy Collins, Aon Center Stage 773
This four-stage venue continues to house various artists of all genres, big and small. Likewise, there have been many different shows deputing recently. Some noteworthy performances to expect include the classic Christmas tale It’s a Wonderful Life, the moving tale of The Tall Boy, and the burlesque blowout that is Vaudzilla!
Etienne Padin, Eurostars
Magnificent Mile Steppenwolf Theatre
The Steppenwolf Theatre has always strived to bring thought provoking and exciting shows to the city. Throughout December the Steppenwolf Theatre will be featuring Lindiwe, a story that shows the lengths that people travel for love, whether that be Chicago or South Africa. Starting on January 23rd , you can catch Bug, the story of a lonely waitress falling for a strange drifter and their decent into madness.

DRINK
By Shannon Boland Chef Concierge at LondonHouse ChicagoAs the temperatures drop, there is one surefire way to ward off the Windy City chill: Whiskey!
Capone knew it and now you do too! Since the prohibition days, Chicago has never had a shortage of hooch. Here is a list of some of my favorite places to cozy up with whiskey in Chicago this winter:
Delilah’s
No whiskey lover’s list would be complete without a trip to Delilah’s. This Chicago institution has over 800 (Yes, you read that right) whiskies from 15 different countries. The rock vibe paired with the knowledgeable barkeeps, make it the perfect place to tuck away from the cold this winter!
Bar on Buena
This cozy Uptown haunt boasts a fantastic collection of 300 different whiskies, domestic and imported! They feature 4 flights daily, but head there for Thursday Night Flights and sample an impressive 12 different flights! After Bar on Buena, head a mile north to the legendary Green Mill Jazz Club to round the perfect Uptown night.
Chicago Q
This Gold Coast southern BBQ joint has celebrity Chef Art Smith at the helm. Their food pairs perfectly with their hand crafted cocktails. For more adventurous folks, ask for Beverage Manager Ben. He is happy to offer a curated guide to some of the most uniques whiskies and bourbons in town. He may even pull a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle for you to try from the top shelf!
OTHER CONCIERGE PICKS
The Monkey’s Paw
Looking to get out of downtown and explore? Located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, this family owned owned mother and son duo feature farm-to-table cuisine and an extensive collection of rotating whiskeys. Sample of different kinds with their daily whiskey flights.
EricUntitled
Just walk into the whiskey library at Untitled! They need a full ladder to get to the highest shelf. Bourbon list here is probably the best one in the city, oh and they have a great restaurant, oh and they have a show lounge where they do everything from big band swing to burlesque. Just go.
Franklin Room
Staying in Chicago for a while?
The underground Franklin Room features what they call their “Whiskey Keep”. Purchase an exclusive bottle of Whiskey and they will keep it under lock and key for you to sip upon whenever you’re in! Doesn’t get more personal than that!
The Gage
I love The Gage for its coziness in the midst of the Loop and duality with bourbon and scotch thanks to owner Billy Lawless. Try a featured flight with some of the world’s finest whiskeys or pick your favorite from their lengthy menu.
Not drinking tonight? Whether you’re doing Dry January or just not a fan of the hard stuff, you can still enjoy the creatively crafted cocktails of Chicago’s talented mixologists - sans alcohol. Check out these concierge-recommended hotspots for an awesome mocktail:

Flor Sigaran - Chicago Athletic Association Hotel

Mat Chapman - JW Marriott
Kumiko
The inspired Spiritfree list is fun and creative and complements Kumiko’s food menu spectacularly. Try the Fields of Green or the Pepperberry Tonic!
Lost Lake is the brainchild of Paul McGee, one of the best mixologists in Chicago. They’re specifically known for his tropical themed alcoholic punches, so even if the two that are on the list don’t suit you there’s a whole slew of juices and syrups for you to choose from. If there happens to be anyone in your party is drinking while you aren’t, they will love you for bringing them there.
Ramon Gomez - The Gwen Webster’s Wine Bar
With a 400-bottle wine list, you are sure to find a wine you love at Webster’s Wine Bar! Curate your own tasting with 2.5oz pours of whichever wine whets your whistle. This award-winning hotspot (we’re talking a Food & Wine Sommelier of the Year and a Wall Street Journal Top 5 Wine Bars in the US) offers a food menu that perfectly accompanies any wine.
Kyle Francsis - Ritz-Carlton City Winery
The name says it all! City Winery is the place to be for a fabulous behind-the-scenes wine tour and tasting in Chicago. Sample their house made wines and crostini, learn about how their wine is made, and even receive 10% off any retail wine or merchandise purchase.
Mark Kraemer - Hotel Palomar Cooper’s Hawk
Brand new to the Gold Coast, Cooper’s Hawk offers a few wine tasting options: Variety, Lux, and Sweet, and each offers notes on each wine offered so you can choose to your liking. The robust menu won’t leave you hungry and you can purchase any of the Cooper’s Hawk wines to take home.
Henna Khemani - St. Jane Hotel Eno Wine Bar

Keys to the City
Piano bars
The piano, one of mankind’s biggest and yet most unique musical instruments. They are one of the most noticeable things in a room, and for good reason. Pianos are exciting, relaxing, and pleasing to the senses. You see a lot of pianos in Chicago businesses, especially the bars. Some have them there as decorations, but others take them in as a part of their life.
Howl at the Moon
If you didn’t come for the literal bucket-sized cocktails, then you probably came for atmosphere and good times. These highenergy shows are bound to make your feet start tapping. The dueling piano stage offers and intimate experience for guests and performers, alike.
Redhead Piano Bar
The Redhead Piano bar is a favorite to locals and tourists alike. This place brings people in from the hectic life on Ontario Street and opens up to a new world of relaxation. It features small bits with big taste, sophisticated martinis and wines, high quality cigars with complimentary smoking lounge, and that sweet, smooth piano string action.
Zebra Lounge
This watering hole has performers tickling the ivories every night. The Zebra lounge has been in business ever since your grandparents started bar hopping. Somehow the were able to stuff big leather booths, zebra print lamps, a bar, a piano, and all that coolness into this compact space.
Sluggers
Sluggers is the only piano bar that can capture the rapid energy of diehard sports fans. It’s hard to imagine a sports bar right next to Wrigley Field with batting cages, arcade games, and dueling pianos, but Sluggers was able to pull it off with flying colors. Speaking of colors, remember that Sluggers is located in the heart of Cubs territory!
