EDBE 8Y01 Digital Portfolio Assignment Learning Goal: Teacher Candidates will Monitor, document and share their knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes related to the principles and policies outlined in Growing Success: Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting in Ontario Schools (2010) and in Growing Success: The Kindergarten Addendum (2016) 

Use the 8Y01 AER Strategy Form to document their learning goals, strategies and curated resources



Post the 8Y01 Strategy Form artifact to the Assessment page of their Digital Portfolio



Post the 8Y01 Unit/Lesson Planner artifact to the Assessment page of their Digital Portfolio



Use the Assessment page of their Digital Portfolio as a monitoring tool to refine their assessment practices, and to inform their professional judgment and self-directed learning through ongoing inquiry, dialogue and reflection in Year 1 and Year 2

Assessment is used to mean a set of actions undertaken by the teacher and student to gather information about student learning Assessment FOR Learning (Diagnostic, Formative) is used in making decisions that affect teaching and learning in the short term future Assessment OF Learning (Summative) is used to record and report what has been learned in the past Evaluation refers to the process of judging the quality of student learning Growing Success (2010) p.30
