We have an outstanding array of festivals and events for you to enjoy in the lead-up and into the New Year. Visit Gallery on Track Gallery in Goulburn to enjoy the work of local artistians and artists in yet another brilliant exhibition and display. Put the Iris Country Fair, set in the beautiful grounds of Frensham, Mittagong, in your calendar for November. This event is held once every five years and offers fun, food, craft and shopping, with something to appeal to everyone! Also in November, The Southern Highlands will showcase the region with an 'Outdoor Recreation & Adventure' Show. Contributors will offer camping equipment, 4wd accessories, caravans, campers and motorhomes, boating and fishing displays, motorcycles, mountain bikes and travel displays. If you have an interest in antiques, be sure to attend the annual Antique Fair in Robertson when Sydney and regional dealers provide a stunning display of antique jewellery, silver ware, glass, linen and furniture for sale. In the northern Illawarra township of Bulli, in January 2018, the Illawarra Folk Club will hold its annual, award winning, Folk Festival. The event will offer an eclectic mix of music from a variety of cultures and styles. Finally, we have a very special event for those lovers of fine music. The Southern Highlands Symphony Orchestra will hold a musical, 'Festive Spectacular' which will feature a work by early Australian composer, Alfred Hill, as well as Tchaikovsky and more! Seasons Greetings from the team at iMag!

Mittagong, Bowral Moss Vale & Bundano Mittagong - the gateway
to the Southern Highlands. Mittagong township is rich in history and is known as the gateway to the Southern Highlands. The town has a number of stunning heritage buildings, art galleries, antique and craft shops. It is a great place to search for that special antique or book and enjoy good food and wine. There are hotels, cafes, restaurants, and take-aways. The RSL offers dining, entertainment, large gaming areas and even accommodation.
Bowral - home to the International Cricket Hall of Fame. Bowral is a most delightful country town situated in a valley at the foot of Mt.Gibraltar. Due to the high altitude of the Southern Highlands, the town enjoys gorgeous autumns as exotic European trees and shrubs change their colour.
The shopping precinct in Bowral has an atmosphere like that of few other country towns as it offers an eclectic variety of boutiques, bookstores, antique and craft shops, restaurants and cafes. A highlight for cricket fans is the International Cricket Hall of Fame. Outdoor sports include golf at one of the town’s excellent courses.
Moss Vale is central to
Southern Highland townships and villages and to Highland attractions. The town retains an atmosphere and charm of yesteryear due to an effort to preserve and restore old public buildings and private homes. Some buildings date to the 1860s - 1890s, the Old Post Office, the Moss Vale Hotel, Court House and the historic Railway Station are fine examples of 19C architecture.
oon The Moss Vale area was once occupied by the Gundangara people, though they had disappeared by the 1870s, partly due to the loss of their hunting land to European settlers. Moss Vale has a large part of the local Industry as well it is a minor centre for agriculture. Many light and medium industries are found in and around Moss Vale.
Bundanoon retains many of its early 20C buildings and has a heritage charm about it. The town has its share of interesting craft shops, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, nurseries and picnic areas. You can hire a bike, walk through nearby Morton National Park, enjoy picnic spots, native flowers and birds and see kangaroos and wallabies at dusk on the edge of town. Take a walk to "Glow Worm Glen" and discover how the Glow Worms live and glow. The area is a bushwalkers paradise with fourteen suggested walks; most have vantage points with spectacular views across the valleys. Probably the most visited lookout is the one overlooking the Grand Canyon 3km from the town centre.

Gallery On Track In Goulburn –
Exhibitions for November/December/January
Gallery on Track’s November Exhibition, on display 5 - 26 November, will be a lot of fun!! Titled “HOME”, it will feature a large number of small wooden homes - all the same size - which have been decorated in a wide manner of ways by talented Gallery on Track members. Many of the “homes” will be available for sale. The Exhibition spanning the December/ January 2018 period at the Gallery will feature
works by participants in the many exciting workshops and classes run during the 2017 year at Gallery on Track. Antiques in Robertson Village 18 & 19 November
The 18th and 19th November 2017 will again see the School of Arts Hall at Robertson transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques when dealers from all around the country combine for the Ninth Annual Robertson Antiques and Collectables Fair. Traditionally, the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes, from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian chest. Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is enormous, enabling customers to view many different dealers all together under one roof, instead of travelling to many different establishments. Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables
and furniture, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride, the dealers themselves endeavouring to supply as much information as possible to help the collector. The Robertson Antiques Fair will be a bonanza for the village with a great number of tourists visiting the fair and also visiting many local attractions such as our three local waterfalls, the Illawarra Fly treetop walk, the Robertson Heritage Railway Station Gallery , the Village Woodworks that also incorporates the Robertson Guild art and craft display and the Old Cheese Factory Complex. After your visit to the Antiques Fair there is still plenty to do in the village such as browsing through the many shops
selling antiques, arts and crafts, paintings, books, foodstuffs and local produce. Also why not visit one of the many cafes for morning / afternoon tea or lunch. Events like the fair are important to the School of Arts Committee who rely on income from these functions to maintain the hall. During the fair the ladies from the hall committee will be serving light lunches and morning/ afternoon teas. The Robertson Antiques Fair will be open to the public from 9am until 5pm on Saturday 18 November and from 10am until 4pm on Sunday 19 November. Admission is $8 for adults and includes a lucky door prize ticket. Accompanied children are free. There is plenty of parking nearby and wheelchair access into the hall. The Robertson School of Arts is situated on the Illawarra Highway at Robertson, right in the centre of the village. For further information please call Mick Dalton on mobile 0428 446 534.

What a Life! Rock Photography by Tony Mott is a major retrospective on Australia’s premier rock photographer Tony Mott. The exhibition collectively tells the story of rock n’ roll life in Australia over the last 30 years, including the enormous changes to the live music scene from the 1990s and the impact of digital on the art of rock photography. Organised by the State Library of NSW. On display until 28 January.
Accident & Process, is a major survey of works by leading Australian artist Derek Kreckler. Curated by Hannah Mathews and toured by PICA the exhibition features photography, video, installation and performance documentation from the 1970s to the present. On display until 26 November. Claudia Chaseling’s Spatial-Paintings, on display until 26 November, hover between the two and three-dimensional.
