The frustrating thing I find with diaries and notebooks is that I either don't have a pen or the pen I stick inside the book eventually breaks its spine but not anymore. The Bobino slim pen solves this problem, sitting comfortably either as a page marker or in the specially provided holder. I have pestered Clive and Helen at Artwrite for ages to stock them and now they do. Only ÂŁ5.99 they don't take refills but they last for years.

Paul worked at Crundens and since its closure has provided this excellent service.

The editor of The Sentinel is also responsible for sending Hythe, Newington and Sandgate related event information to the Folkestone Herald. If you have an event you wish to publicise it is needed by Tuesday at 17:00. The information should appear in the edition two weeks later although it is not gauranteed.

Now available in paperback Set in Folkestone in the heady days of the late 60s. They say if you can remember it, you weren't there!

Two plays . One an imaginary meeting between Dylan Thomas and Brendan Behan in a Fitzrovia pub. The other is Caitlin Thomas reminiscing after the untimely death of her husband. This is the tale of Hana, a young girl who moves from where she was born in London, to the Kent coast. They discover a wonderful area called Prince's Parade which is full of amazing animals, has a beautiful canal and is right next to the sea too! By buying this book you will be helping to protect it. All profits from it will be donated to the Save Prince's Parade campaign which aims to halt plans to develop the area into a housing estate.

For this scheduled Hythe ECG Bird-watching walk we are teaming up with “Led by the Wild in Aldington who, as a conservation project, are working hard to attract a wide variety of birds and wildlife to their 30 acre site of woodland and grazing land. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around their site, through the ancient bluebell woodland and fields with our bird watching expert. The walk will be followed by some delicious tea and cakes, and an opportunity to find out more about the work they are doing to engage children and adults in nature-led learning and conservation activities. Meet in the Led by the Wild's car park off Giggers Green Road at 10am. For full details and booking go to this LINK Please do book a ticket if you are coming so that we can make sure that we can enlist other birdie experts if the group size grows too big. Please wear suitable footwear for wandering around woodland and fields. We will limit booking on this event to 30 people. We're afraid for this event we are asking no children under the age of 12 years please.
