HYTHE CIVIC DAY 2019 Saturday, 22nd June ‘Conservation matters……!?’ The day promoted by Civic Voice – the national charity for the civic movement in England – to celebrate civic pride and to say ‘I care about where I live.’ The main focus of the day will be Hythe’s conservation area and its importance in making Hythe the town that it is today. There will be displays of old photographs – some of heritage buildings that have been lost – and lots of information on what living in a conservation area means and why it’s worth preserving. Lots of information on the listed buildings in Hythe, too. High Street walks depart at midday and 2pm and are free of charge. Photographs and Hythe Civic Society publications will be on sale. All are welcome in the undercroft at Hythe Town Hall between 11am and 3pm. The Town Crier will be around between 11am and midday as a reminder! For more information contact: Sally Chesters 01303 266118 6

The frustrating thing I find with diaries and notebooks is that I either don't have a pen or the pen I stick inside the book eventually breaks its spine but not anymore. The Bobino slim pen solves this problem, sitting comfortably either as a page marker or in the specially provided holder. I have pestered Clive and Helen at Artwrite for ages to stock them and now they do. Only ÂŁ5.99 they don't take refills but they last for years.

Paul worked at Crundens and since its closure has provided this excellent service.
The editor of The Sentinel is also responsible for sending Hythe, Newington and Sandgate related event information to the Folkestone Herald. If you have an event you wish to publicise it is needed by Tuesday at 17:00. The information should appear in the edition two weeks later although it is not gauranteed.

The group has been active for almost ten years, initially under the name of Transition Hythe. It is now rebranded as Hythe Environmental Community Group to focus on practical community projects. We currently are active in the six areas outlined inside this leaflet
The Hythe Environmental Community Group is all about a communityled approach to making the Hythe area a more fulfilling, sustainable and environmentally aware place to live. We aim to help people lower the amount of energy they use, reduce waste, improve the recycling of what waste they do produce, enhance the visual impact of the area and increase the protection of the area’s flora and fauna.
