New Things on the Way! The first of May marked one full year for us in Namibia and working for Community

Hope School. As we have completed the first half of our first term, our ministry will begin to expand into some new areas. We love CHS and will continue our work in the school; however, we will now also be freed up to begin some more ministries.

 Please continue to pray for our over-all health

Many of you know that our vision in coming here was for church planting and community development. This has not changed; now that we can begin to move

Coming Up 

May 1— - One year in Namibia!

May 17— - New school term begins

June 11— - Sandy’s birthday

June 22-July 9— - Team from New Zealand coming

July 4— - David’s birthday

forward in these ministries, please pray for God’s direction and wisdom for each of us. Community Hope School All in all, things are going well at CHS. The second term began on May 17th & the kids couldn’t have seemed happier to be back. Please keep the school in your prayers as we have lost two teachers in the last couple of months due to visa problems. A Friendly Face In April we had a visitor from our home church in Colorado Springs, CO. Mark Fisher is the leader of Global Impact Ministries & an elder at Pikes Peak Christian Church; he came to check up on us as we completed our first year. He came with lots of encouragement, advice… and a lot of American goodies! We are really thankful for his visit and for the effort of the church to send him. With His Love,

David and Sandy Echols Global Impact Ministries Missionaries to Namibia

A New Term The weather here is changing; winter is coming. Early in the morning, as we pull into school, we can see puffs of steam coming from the kids as they run and play in the brisk air. The kids here at CHS are overjoyed when the school starts up again, we as teacher are enveloped with hugs and laughter when they first see us. There are stories of how they enjoyed their breaks, but mostly kids talk about being lonely, bored and hungry at their “homes.”

The new term gives us an opportunity to look back at the previous term and remember the things that God has done. Since Maria’s passing, we can see how God has healed wounds and drawn the kids and staff closer together. There is one girl in particular, a close friend of Maria, who was a closed book before her passing, but now I find her reaching out and letting us in. God is good in all situations, take time today to sit and think of all the things that God has done in your life in the past six months. -SE

Support Progress Part of being a missionary is consistently promoting the need in your field of service & encouraging others to support the work financially. At times it’s difficult to ask, at others it comes naturally. Sometimes support raising gets frustrating and sometimes it could not be more fulfilling. Financing a mission is a ministry in itself and it unites missionary & supporter in what God is doing. Recently we have had some supporters fall on hard times. As a result the ministry lost $600 of monthly support within one month. Since then we’ve recovered $245 with two new supporters and a raise from one church. Praise God! We are still looking for more partners. Please consider joining the work here in Namibia. If you would like to help us get back up to budget, return the included response card or contact us at support@davidandsandy.org.
