Prayer Needs

BOLSTERING UP As we come up on our final guaranteed year in Namibia (we still are not sure how things will turn out with our work permit situation), it has become critical for the ministry to strengthen itself organizationally here in Namibia. While there is still a long way to go & a lot of work to be done, God seems to be busy providing each step of the way.

Interns First of all, we have been blessed with two interns this year already. Melissa Faraci (Ozark Christian College) came back to Namibia to rejoin us in January and served with us into May. In June we were joined by Sharon Klingemann from our alma mater, Central Christian College of the Bible. She will stay with us until the middle of August. While they are both very short term help, they have provided great support and assisted in strengthening the work we have already started.

The Hollands I mentioned Nathan & Umoyo Holland in our final newsletter of 2015. Shortly after sending that out, Nathan had some visa problems and had to leave the country. He is back now & Umoyo just gave birth to their first child, Anna Taonga Holland. The Hollands will still be with us for the next year. During this time Nathan will be focusing on strengthening our Thrive program by starting a new community open to anyone in our community. He will also take the lead on implementing our vision to hold "Restoration Seminars" in the North of the country where the unreached Himba tribe lives. The goal of these seminars is to improve Biblical literacy among the indigenous pastors spread out in villages across Kaokoland. Again, they are providing short term help, but bulking up the work of 3 Measures & attempting to raise up local leaders to carry on at the same time.

CHE

Support

Our 3 Measures team hosted and completed our CHE Training of Trainers in April. It was all very helpful and left us excited to get this program started. We are currently working on rounding out our Training Team. In the process we have met an American family new to Namibia who have had the CHE training and have a strong desire to do CHE here as well. They have agreed to partner with us in starting our CHE program in Sonderwater! They will, God willing, provide some more long term support to this program.

Raylin (Bad News/Good News) By now you should know about Raylin, he's been working with us since 2014 and has been an integral part of everything we've done so far. Unfortunately, this will be his last year with 3 Measures. It's not really bad news, he will be going back to school and I believe it is a great decision on his part. I am very proud of the man he has become over the past few years and know that God will be with him through this transition. Also, that He will guide 3 Measures through it. The good news is that he will finish out the year and has been working hard to be ready for the CHE program (which he will continue to volunteer for) & with starting a new Thrive community that is doing some really cool things. Please pray for Raylin's studies & for us to find another local person to pick up where he is leaves off.

What We're Looking For Now, this part is important. We are specifically looking for someone who would be willing to come to Namibia next year as our work permits expire. We still do not know what the future holds exactly, but it is very possible that we have to return to the States while we apply for a new permit. We are hoping and praying for God to raise someone up to commit to one year here in Namibia. In case we are out of the country, we would like to have someone here to keep an eye on the ministry, help our local leaders & possibly stay in our house. That said, we are asking three things of you: (1 Please pray for us to find this help that we need. (2) Please spread the word to those you know about this need/opportunity. (3) Please consider whether or not God is challenging you to be this person.

Thanks for your prayers and support, David, Sandy, Reese & Avi Echols

Thank you so much to all of you who support our work here in Namibia! In our last newsletter we were able to share that we reached 100% of our budget. That includes ministry funds, admin costs and keeping the Echols in Namibia. This marked the first time we've reached full support since entering Namibia in 2010. We will however

need to increase this budget again, as we have added school fees and an increase in rent. In January we started paying $300 per month for Reese's school fees and in March we moved into a house that costs about $800 per month. We have made a number of budget cuts to make this possible for the time being. We will evaluate our new budget in a a few months, then let you all know how much of an increase will truly be necessary. As for now, we continue to thank the Lord for all of you who have invested in God's work in Namibia!
