UNEXPECTED Create a place is more than fill, in a simple way, an empty space within the urban fabric. It presumes to interpret, discover and create a new reality that, starting from the existing one, offers a future that can be significant and radical for the location. We got a sense of the Santiago de Compostela reality establishing a relation with the elements considered representative of the context: the variations of scale, the conformation of the ground, the views that open to new and unexpected landscapes; all of this contributes, in our opinion, to create the atmosphere surrounding this place. Managing with simplicity the volumetric complexity of the project, we tried to create a place, exploring the potentialities of the spaces through the different perception of lights, shadows and colors.

PADUA PVT HOUSE CONSTRUCTION WILL START SOON What does it mean to create a new building within the urban fabric of Veneto? What effects did the uncontrolled building development of the 70s have in the historical memory of the new generations? What does it entail the addition of a new white point inside the “diffuse city”?
sign : Any fact, manifestation,
phenomenon from which we can draw clues, conclusions, knowledge.
We live in a diffuse city, citing Francesco Indovina. We are dealing with an individual territory, which is not a result of collective and coordinated decisions but it is based on the realization of individual interests, of an ethics that elects work and the private property as only vehicles of personal and “social realization. The citizen of this city (term that seems inappropriate at this point) is inserted in a socio-economic system that forces him to dynamism, to the constant movement in the execution of his own micro practices. It seems that the economic development, the working change of the farmer from simple agriculturist to accomplished entrepreneur has caused a personal profit without any respect of his own territory that is affected by it in the construction industry, especially in the residential one. In this inconsiderate building development, the builders have put aside the real reason why a house is realized, proposing instead other instructions that led up to a contamination of the strong historical memory surrounding the Veneto territory. In this perspective the intervention tries to rediscover and reinterpret the traditional signs that, feeble, make their way through the intricate building development.

WonderLAD ARCHITECTURE MEETS CHARITY WonderLAD, this is the name of the house, will be a place where children affected from serious illness and their families can perform the activities of a normal life, despite the disease and during the necessary periods of hospitalizations.
CARE HOME IN CATANIA When the illness of a child burst into the life of a family, the equilibrium of everyday life is broken and the reference points of the “normality” blur, or even vanish, in the quest to offer treatments for the sick child. A deep sense of bewilderment develops in the family, aggravated by the complexity of the therapeutic and bureaucratic pathways. The intervention wants to be a “healing network” that offers guiding figures that take care of every guest in a multidisciplinary way and help him connect with the other resources of the territory. The house is organized in two levels, the ground floor, composed of the spaces of daily use, and the first floor, where six residences for the inpatient relatives are arranged. We want to create a house that is in complete harmony with the landscape, creating spaces that use as much natural light as possible and with a direct connection to the outside. In order to enhance this sensation we deemed appropriate to organize on a different altitude the area reserved to the parking lots, that therefore isn’t visible from the house.
