Fotografo romano, da sempre affascinato dal mondo della fotografia. Nella sue opere si riesce a cogliere l’intenzione di catturare in uno scatto ciò che più di curioso può trovarsi una normalissima situazione del quotidiano. Gli sguardi, le posizioni, il pensiero che si forma tra le rughe del viso, un’emozione espressa con due sopracciglia, un umore reso evidente anche con una sola smorfia sulle labbra, sono continuamente nei suoi scatti. Dal 2006 è passato al digitale e, oltre a curare alcuni progetti personali, collabora con alcune organizzazioni di eventi a Roma avendo occasione di lavorare nelle migliori location della Capitale. *

Photographer based in Rome, has always been fascinated by the world of photography. In his works you can grasp the intention of capturing what more than curious can be into normal situation of everyday life. The looks, the positions, the thought that is formed between the wrinkles of the face, an emotion expressed in two eyebrows, a mood evident even with a single grimace, are continually in his shots. Since 2006 he has switched to digital and, besides taking care of some personal projects, he is collaborating with organizations of events in Rome having the opportunity to work in the best location in the capital.

L’ospitalità è sacra quanto la famiglia. Tutti sono riuniti intorno al piccolo tavolino, le famiglie, sempre molto numerose, si ritrovano nei momenti di ristoro per un confronto o una chiaccherata.

The hospitality is as sacred as family. All gathered around the small table, families, always very numerous, find themselves in times of refreshment for a confrontation or a chat.

La minaccia di uno sgombero, poi messo in atto, può dare vita ad una festa, per protestare allegramente e pacificamente contro un provvedimento ritenuto ingiusto e immotivato. Quello di Tor De’ Cenci era un cosidetto “campo Rom”.

The threat of an eviction, then put in place, it can give life to a party, happily and peacefully protest against a measure considered unfair and unjustified. What Tor De’ Cenci was a so-called “gypsy camp”. The gypsy camp , built on the Pontine in 2000 with 5 million euro , was razed to the ground suddenly in late September 2012. Especially young people did not want to go : “We were born here, and here we go to school .” The pictures are of this report in July 2012 , during which I met the Roma have been trying to tell me their stories and their motivations , their firm conviction that they want to remain in their neighborhood : Tor de ‘ Cenci. Il campo nomadi, costruito sulla Pontina nel 2000 con 5 milioni di euro, è stato raso al suolo all’improvviso a fine settembre 2012. I circa 400 rom che ci vivevano, principalmente di origine Macedone e Bosniaca, sono stati costretti a trasferirsi. Soprattutto i giovani non se ne volevano andare: “Siamo nati qui e qui andiamo a scuola”. Le foto di questo reportage sono del luglio 2012, durante il quale i rom che ho incontrato hanno cercato di raccontarmi le loro storie e le loro motivazioni, la loro ferma convinzione di voler restare nel proprio quartiere: Tor de’ Cenci. La storia delle popolazioni senza fissa dimora, e del loro rapporto con il quartiere che a sud lambisce la tenuta di Castel Porziano, (dove c’è la residenza estiva del Presidente della Repubblica Italiana) abbraccia un

arco temporale di oltre venti anni che, nelle intenzioni iniziali, doveva divenire un modello di accoglienza e di integrazione. I servizi sociali ed i controlli, al suo interno, sono stati attivati e poi lasciati morire. Ad ondate cicliche. Nei piani del Campidoglio, il campo nomadi di Tor de Cenci - un fazzoletto di terra a ridosso della Pontina - doveva chiudere già nel 2010. Dopo un lungo braccio di ferro tra istituzioni, residenti e associazioni la data fatidica è scoccata nel 2012. Con una lettera aperta, Arci, Comunità di Sant’Egidio e Agesci hanno chiesto ai tre ministri di intervenire «per non mandare a monte il lavoro fatto negli anni per scolarizzare i circa 200 minori che vivono nel campo», ma a nulla è servito. Prima della chiusura, nelle scuole del quartiere erano iscritti in totale 148 minori provenienti dal campo. La maggior parte degli abitanti di Tor de Cenci non voleva abbandonare questo campo. Molti di loro sono arrivati qui nel 1995. Nel 2000 il villaggio fu inaugurato ufficialmente e vennero realizzate fognature, rete elettrica e idrica. A ogni nucleo familiare fu assegnato un modulo abitativo. «Il campo fino al 2004 era in ottime con-

Sono seguiti lunghi anni di silenzio da parte dei media e delle istituzioni, con cui il rapporto si è incancrenito, anni in cui il campo è stato ripetutamente bonificato e abbandonato. C’era un referente municipale per il campo che adesso non c’è più, c’era un controllo quotidiano dei vigili urbani che adesso non c’è più, c’era un presidio socio-sanitario fisso che è stato dismesso e c’era uno servizio ludico-creativo dedicato ai bambini della scuola materna che ha smesso di funzionare. Gli abitanti del campo sono stati lasciati a se stessi senza alcun tipo di governance. Quello che era un villaggio attrezzato e funzionale, «costruito dal Campidoglio su un terreno del Comune di Roma, raggiungibile con tanto di indicazioni stradali – ricorda Perrini - è diventato un campo tollerato da chiudere» forse perché troppo vicino ai centri abitati. Piuttosto preferisco dormire in un furgoncino qui vicino». «Quel campo è una prima linea di guerra – dice esasperato Fuad – non ci possono trattare come palloni da calcio e farci rotolare da un posto all’altro». «Qui mi conoscono tutti – confessava Serbo, un ROM di Tor de’ Cenci – lì non saprei come integrarmi. I sedili delle auto fuori casa per rilassarsi e ammazzare il tempo. Dentro, oltre l’uscio, non manca nulla. Tv, musica, bagno. Si dorme per terra e si cammina scalzi. Ma è un’usanza. Tra le viuzze si incrociano i bambini che corrono verso un parco giochi improvvisato. C’è uno scivolo. E due carrelli della spesa per fare a gara a chi arriva in fondo. Samet mangia. È appena rientrato da lavoro. Raccoglie ferro per strada, nei cassonetti. Poi

Sabato e domenica carica il suo furgone e va sotto ponte Marconi. Vende libri usati, vecchi vestiti, piatti, antichità: altri 150 euro a week end. I suoi due figli maschi, di 25 e 22 anni, sgobbano tutto il giorno con lui. Merima, la piccola di 20, cittadina italiana, è invece assunta all’opera nomadi. «Non vogliamo andare via di qua - dice Samet -, è nostra casa. Se ci portano da altra parte e stiamo con altri nomadi poi facciamo guerra». Gran parte del quartiere, nelle zone limitrofe al campo, era ostile ai ROM: i suoi abitanti, dicevano, continuavano a respirare la diossina sprigionata dalla combustione dei pneumatici e della plastica dei fili di rame, fuori dal campo. «I cittadini si sono mobilitati in tutti i modi per avere più controlli e chiedere il trasferimento del campo» racconta Guido Basso, presidente del Comitato di quartiere Tor de’ Cenci-Spinaceto. «Nella zona del mercatino di Tre Pini sono spariti molti tombini e le ante di lamiera dei contatori - aggiunge Massimo Tesei, vicepresidente del Cdq - All’ordine del giorno anche la caccia ai rifiuti nei cassonetti. Sono stati persino saccheggiati i contenitori della Caritas.
