Work 1. Composition I think that Composition in art design • Gives layout and structure to each art piece. • Leads the eye focus on the on object emphasize a key point. • Focused on lines, shapes, positioning, orientation, balance, harmony among elements.

“Amazing people” is presented with color elements and black as a secondary color to highlight the main color of the design (blue, yellow, red, green, pink, and white). It’s a wonderful painting that telling well the meaning behind this story. Window frame is shown in black and white which I used as a lens to observe with a new perspective view black-white painting through the composition theme. 3

Work 2. Distortion of Form

My distorted design is “Water Bottle,” which is a simple form but gave me a lot of chance to experienced abstract to change the shape of an object from reality to no longer look like the original form. In the process, I tried to skip the details and place the object to fit the space, fill in the negatives spaces as well as shift the point of view and change the size. I also tried to create a sense of harmony by balancing the positive and negative points and considering well overall composition when placing the distortion of form.

Work 3. Rhythm

“She’s a Rainbow” by Rolling Stones is my favorite song. The rhythm is presented with white rectangles placed on the color lines and going down as the rain drop follows on the rainbow lines. In the middle, I created a girl with colorful hair to highlight the main point of the song and bring people more and more focus on the background, and fall into the world of this song to feel and imagine and create something fun in their thought. 7

Explored the process 1 to 4 is really interesting to understand how to describe the emotion of the rhythm with drawing by following my favorite song - She’s a rainbow. It took me a lot of time to figure out the 7 color lines as well as trying to figure out for creating a great layout.

Work 4. Figure - Ground

For celebrating world architecture day (on the first Monday of every October) to “remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat,” I applied different magazine sheets to create the layer and form the great texture on every building which placed on the horizontal skyline. We have an opportunity to explore the different buildings in different countries in the world. Did you know or recognize any building in my artwork design?

PROCESS It was a challenge for collecting the materials for figure and cutting too many details, even every single letter. Taking a lot of time in the process. It looks so great!

Work 5. Texture Implied Texture: D B H Drawing letters (D, B, and H) with wood textures (Brown and Grey).

Actual Texture: D B H Explored different materials for creating letters (D, B, and H) and three-dimensional textures and understand how they worked in art design. Letters D, B, and H are created to highlight the architectural feature and functions. “D” is a community center building designed with slope and curved styles. “B” is a garden and “H” is a park covered with the net as the dragon scales. Looking down, it is the letters D, B, and H while putting down and looking in 3d is an amazing architectural building. 11

Work 7. Value Understanding the color scale from light to dark values by finding some color materials from the magazines to create the color chart. I tested the value by turning on black-white vision and comparing it to the photo with color. Observing which color stands in the right place and follows the right value.
